I drive a 2003 E39 530i and I love it to pieces. I don’t nitpick the transmission but he engine is spectacular. It’s my daily driver and, with a 40+ minute commute to work, I spring out of bed in the mornings. I only paid $2,100 for it (127,000 miles on it at purchase) and I find myself happily putting work back into the car when she needs it. It’s a car to be driven for people who love to drive and I’m happily in love with mine.
Couldn't agree more with the way you are describing the excitement to drive your 530i. It's so much car for the price, yet you don't pay the prices of the m5 to maintain it 🙂
All the stars aligned in creating this masterpiece. The e39 design proportions have been emulated by untold numbers of other cars over the past 20 years. But none have surpassed this original, now classic benchmark for all others. The mechanical brilliance of this machine and the beautiful body lines have conspired to make the best sedan ever built. As of this writing, 10/13/23.....an e39 can still be purchased for a reasonable sum of money. However, we see an incremental value increase with no end in sight. Grab one now while it's still affordable. Then restore it back to origal. Guaranteed best investment you'll ever make on a car!
Are you referring to the frequent breakdowns and repairs? Because that's the case with my 2002 530iA Touring...it never gets boring. It craves attention all the time like a baby and doesn't let me breathe calm for one moment
@@willmurray222 100% you right the 525d 2002 is in a shop because of electric problems but i don't even daily drive the 530d 2003 because i have a newer car for daily. So the E39's are for restoring the 530d is already restored jest the 525d left to restore
Hello, cool channel I just found, nice video. I want to get one as my first car, 3.0 manual, I'd prefer blue exterior colors, if not silver or green. Interior - I like black one the least, it just has to be not too worn. But the prices are rising, not sure for how much I'll be able to get one(from 3 to 5), I plan to keep it as long as possible and make some light tuning to it maybe to 300HP maximum, without turbos, suspension tune too. But I'm not sure how and when I'm going to get one, I'm 20 and it's one of the biggest goals for me, while it's so misarable sometimes that I can't get myself a car...
@@mendyefraim7875 no manual, i change the first clutch this winter because its not good anymore. Thats the only big thing that is now necassary and i bought a new m suspension beacuse didnt feel good too
A BMW E39 530i with 228 PhP..???? Is it a Pre "Face Lift"?? Must be...I have an E39 530i 2002 with 231 BhP....and whe i shift it to sport modus, it shifts pretty fast............
I suggest removing the music during commentary and when the engine is running as overlapping sound is quite distracting to the viewers and as enthusiast we love to hear the engine rev.

Sure. Everyone is doing that slow roll gangsta music between 1min and 3min. It’s a beautiful car that is arguably the pinnacle on BMW’s engineering, not some dirty kerb crawling drug shuttle like people perceive them to be, give it the soundtrack it deserves. Like later in the video after the description of the gearbox etc :)

I own two BMW E39's a 525d 2002 and a 530D 2003 and they are so nice that it feels like i could drive it for life.

That radio unit is designed for an E53, not an E39.
They actually share most of their dash.

This is actually a aftermarket android headunit designed for the e39 and e53. The e53 ane e39 share their factory radios as well.
