This is someone who done this SEVERAL TIMES ,over and over ,knowing how CLIPS WORK and their LOCATIONS. How and WHERE to PRY UP or PUSH BACK and if you have to move shifter or press brake pedal ///etc.
Believe it or not, this is like the only video on YT that shows how to locate and replace that tricky little glove box bulb. I'll finally be able to replace my 50/50 working bulb with a beautiful new LED to match my new LED dome light (color temp consistency is crucial after all). Thanks for posting! =^_^=
wow. that was an amazing video. not only did you cover multiple things and all in a timely manner, the camera is well placed so that we know what is going on the whole time. awesome to see someone with such extensive coverage on the car i have and am tinkering with. thank you :)
Wow! your video is about the most efficient and concise I have seen among similar topics on TH-cam. Nicely done. People should look it up before they upload their junk video. Thank you for sharing.
a million thanks; i fixed the glove compartment light with hyper difficulty but ur video leads nicely ti other lights. if you can, can we have the unedited video, if not on youtube maybe on forum; the reason being i would know the effort and patience needed to get it done. thnx again
For the ignition switch light, make sure you get the shortest bulb you can find. Open it up and measure before you pay for your light. He uses a nice short squat one.
Hey man, these videos may not get thousands upon thousands of views (probably because not many people are into solaras anymore) but believe me they help haha. Been waiting for this as well. Thanks for all the uploads. Also are you on solaraguy?
Thanks for the feedback. Glad it could help you. I'm not on SG (can you still sign up, I thought the site was dormant and everyone was on the FB group?). I'm on ToyotaNation as speedkar9.
Changed out my wife crappy little bulb 74 to a bright led for the shifter trim. Now it's BRIGHT, looks awesome. I'm pissed that her 07' solara has an integrated LED for the key ring :-( As I was not able to change that. It's not nearly as bright as I would like it. Your's is great!
Kudos to you sir, for making an informative, well paced, nicely narrated and filmed video. This is an excellent quality video that illustrates the subject very well.
speedkar99 I do modifications on scooters. U can check my channel. I had seen something in your video, which will be helpful for me in doing modifications, but I doubt whether that will be available or no in my area.
What size bulb did you use for the cigarette lighter? That's my last step to finish converting all my lights to LED's. I've found people saying they use a 74 bulb, but it's double the length of the bulb that came out of the socket. A response would be much appreciated. Thank you.
For the cigarette lighter at 3:04, did you desolder a 74 led and solder it to metal legs? also, did you change the green tint for the clock? i want to change it to a white tint clock using LEDs.
I did exchange the bulb for a #74 by soldering on the legs. I didn't change the tint for the clock. I don't think it can be changed, as the LED's that light it up are actually red and have a green tint over it. You'd need a new display board with white LED's to change it.
Tengo un toyota camry 97 y la luz Led de alrrededor del interruptor de encendido se queda encendida siempre aunque apagué el carro, no se descarga la bateria?
very nice video. can i suggest changing the title to Solara/Camry LED light console replacement? i was trying to get to the shift lever light bulb but didn't have the right sockets for inside the armrest pocket :/....Otherwise great video. your Solara looks in great condition.
I have a 1998 Toyota Camry that I absolutely love! However, I don't love the green instrument color. In your experience, Do you think it would be possible to swap all gauges to led 6K? Any help would be greatly appreciated before I begin to tear the interior apart, lol. Thanks for the vid, you answered so many of my questions!!
Thanks for the feedback. The gauges can be swapped to all white LED's but it might have a greenish tinge to it. See this video for details: th-cam.com/video/-Gn5dFEKqbM/w-d-xo.html Alternatively you could swap the entire cluster out for an electroluminescent one from a Lexus ES300. See this video on how to rewire it: th-cam.com/video/lK-M9fvSGb0/w-d-xo.html And this video to reprogram your odometer once the swap is done: th-cam.com/video/uq6SlyVE4zQ/w-d-xo.html
Aloha, Amigo howzit going? I like your presentation videos about Lexus GS300 it’s very thorough and a walk through step by step understandable lesson. I have a gs300 04’ model and I’m getting a P0304 code (cylinder 4 misfire) and I have oil coming up from my Spark plug tubes. Not sure if it’s from a gasket leak or cracked o ring seals. What advice can you give when trying to replace it myself for the first time?
hey I was wondering if you can change the radio bulb. mine use to work but not anymore. it only displays numbers and not the green display for the dark
Hey my cluster light went dim but still lights up my hvac lights went out and my ignition key light went out also. I checked the fuses all was well so i bought some l.e.ds to replace the bulbs i first changed my ignition bulb but it doesnt light up. What do you think the problem is? everything worked fine before. Any advice would be helpful thanks for the video i have a 98 camry le
Cash Flo I'm sure its an issue with a fuse or a short / open circuit in the wiring. Does your dome light work? Have you checked the (dome) and other fuses under the hood? Can you measure the voltage at the ignition light?
speedkar99 that's not what I asked for, I asked for the gauge and ignition ring led upgrade.the bulb dimensions and which one best fits. so that I can go ahead and buy one.
a million thanks; i fixed the glove compartment light with hyper difficulty but ur video leads nicely ti other lights. if you can, can we have the unedited video, if not on youtube maybe on forum; the reason being i would know the effort and patience needed to get it done. thnx again
I understand your request however I don't record everything while I'm doing it, just the important steps and stages of a procedure to keep it concise for the viewing audience. The effort and patience for a job like this is nothing compared to a timing belt or valve cover gasket job :)
Best Gen 4 Toyota/Lexus LED replacement guide ever!
+Bob Huang thank you! I'm glad you found it helpful

Short and easy to understand is my style
I like it that you wrote down the details of the type of light and how to get to it. Thank you
Wow! your video is about the most efficient and concise I have seen among similar topics on TH-cam. Nicely done. People should look it up before they upload their junk video. Thank you for sharing.
+truelight1193 Thanks, I'm glad you like the video format...no need for extra junk to waste time!

next I'm gonna remove the doors, next I'm gonna remove the engine
+Queens1 Queens1 That's the plan later this summer. I'd love to see what the inside of an engine and transmission looks like.
speedkar99 I can't wait to see that. Nice uploads by the way, keep em coming
Thank you
LMAO 🤣
Sick, always wanted to know how to replace the dull transmission indicator lights!
For the ignition switch light, make sure you get the shortest bulb you can find. Open it up and measure before you pay for your light. He uses a nice short squat one.
Good tip
Which one was it

+NewShockerGuy Thanks, yes I do like the ignition ring. I'm sure you could solder in a better LED.
Kudos to you sir, for making an informative, well paced, nicely narrated and filmed video. This is an excellent quality video that illustrates the subject very well.
+John Hoye Thank you for the feedback!

Glad it could help.
Great video brother 👊👍 2000 Camry lover here

Watching your video, I got an idea to do modification in my scooter.
Thank you
+Modifications with Manoj really? What did you modify?
speedkar99 I do modifications on scooters. U can check my channel. I had seen something in your video, which will be helpful for me in doing modifications, but I doubt whether that will be available or no in my area.
Thanks for making the video...Great help as always!
is it similar in the ES330?
i have a burned out ignition ring light on mine
Hello, FYI the shift indicator bulb can be changed without removing the center console!!
Thanks for the tip
This is the comment I was looking for lol
Very informative video. Thank You very much. Your the Man!
Glad it helped

+TonyTCite I don't remember but I probably took a #74 bulb out of its socket and trimmed it down
For the cigarette lighter at 3:04, did you desolder a 74 led and solder it to metal legs?
also, did you change the green tint for the clock? i want to change it to a white tint clock using LEDs.

Have you replaced any of the exterior lights on these vehicles? If so, any gotchas like hyper flash, brightness/blinding, or the like to consider?
Just HID ...see my other video
What about the instrument cluster, stereo and the climate control bulbs?
I have other videos for that
Can you tell me what brand of led lights you used. I have a 2000 Toyota Camry LE. Been wanting to change the lights to led. Great video. Thanks much.
Tengo un toyota camry 97 y la luz Led de alrrededor del interruptor de encendido se queda encendida siempre aunque apagué el carro, no se descarga la bateria?
It comes on with the door light.
Lock the car and it should go out.
How to replace automatic gear shift lever bulb toyota camry 2013
I like to see for Lexus ES300 2002-2004 or ES330 2004-2006. This one was easy.
Excellent video!
Thanks
This is a super good video! I love it. can not wait to replace my solaras engine and get my sle on the road ( :
Thanks, all the best on your engine swap.
I was hoping you would show how to replace the cigarette lighter while you had it open. It's held in place by a white stay bezel (as Toyota calls it).
+rkgsd cigarette lighter is one piece that pulls out of the 12V plug...how could you miss replacing one of those !
Ignition light doesn't turn on anymore anyone know if it uses the same fuse as the dashboard/taillight/ AC climate control lights?
That sounds like a blown bulb
Was waiting for this video.
How to change the bulb switch for a 2007 Toyota Corolla thank you
Might actually be similar
Would you by any chance know how to do the ignition ring light on a 96 camry?
Randy Mahadeo I'm not too familiar on how the 96 comes apart compared to the Gen 4, I can only assume its similar.
You're awesome dude, thank you for the video.
+Aaron Brown thanks I'm glad you enjoyed it
I like your video thanks for uploading them
Thanks, glad it could help.
You welcome
Excellent video. How did you get that green plastic piece out of the ash tray?
Thanks.

very nice video. can i suggest changing the title to Solara/Camry LED light console replacement? i was trying to get to the shift lever light bulb but didn't have the right sockets for inside the armrest pocket :/....Otherwise great video. your Solara looks in great condition.
Thanks for the suggestion I've added Toyota Lexus to the title. I like my Solara, its in decent shape for its age and I like to keep my cars clean.

What the light bulb size for the 2003 Toyota Camry? For the passager air bag, ignition ring.
Not sure, but the passenger air bag might already be an LED. Open up the ignition ring and check what type of bulb it uses, it might be the same #74.
3:35
Don't mind me, just leaving myself a reminder ;)
What size light led bulb did u use? 194?

O okay appreciate it
Hey speed kar great vid, quick question...is a 2001 lexus es300 carpet the same as the 2001 toyota camry?
Make video for Lexus GS
Mine broke inside the slot. The rubber just pulled the top part of the bulb. What do i do
Use a plier or screwdriver and yank it out
But the bottom of the bulb shattered in the Little black socket
Ignition ring light comes standard or you made that mod?
Standard
I see you have Toyota and Lexus Listed that this Video Pertains to,Can You tell Me what Year and Model Lexus??
+herculesx Lexus es300 97-01

I also filp the led 180 degrees and it still didnt work is there some type of short?
Cash Flo ashtray light doesnt work anymore either.
Cash Flo
I'm sure its an issue with a fuse or a short / open circuit in the wiring. Does your dome light work? Have you checked the (dome) and other fuses under the hood? Can you measure the voltage at the ignition light?
What size bulb for the ignition?
74
is this the same procedure with 2003 toyota camry also?
Not quite. Here's a video with some pointers on an 03 Camry: Install Camry LED Interior Lights
speedkar99 that's not what I asked for, I asked for the gauge and ignition ring led upgrade.the bulb dimensions and which one best fits. so that I can go ahead and buy one.
A green condom!!!! Hahahahahahahahahahhhh. What is the red button next to your gear shifter for.

Next video how to put the car back together again.
+Farendor oh right...about that.
Great video Bro, THANKS :)
Why don't you just pry the switch out if it holds the light why'd you have to go through all that mess
That's not nice
Next, we gonna remove the camshaft, there’s a bulb right here, and we just pop it off.
There's a sensor there, not a bulb 🤣
@@speedkar99 great video btw, keep it bro!
All this for different color lights? You need to get more hours at work. Too much free time
+Anonymous The lights are brighter and more crisp making it easier to see
How do I desolder lol
Where's you brother's toothbrush?😏😏
This was before my brother
You got to go through all of that crapola to change a lousy bulb? SHIT!
+danielboone72 Yes especially the shifter bulb. They didn't make it any easier on later generations either.
Prlfo
a million thanks; i fixed the glove compartment light with hyper difficulty but ur video leads nicely ti other lights. if you can, can we have the unedited video, if not on youtube maybe on forum; the reason being i would know the effort and patience needed to get it done. thnx again

Hey speed kar great vid, quick question...is a 2001 lexus es300 carpet the same as the 2001 toyota camry?
They might be similar, however the interior color codes will be different. Cross-reference the Toyota part numbers to double check.
Thankyou so much!
