    In the past I was using cheap leds from china. Thought that it’s not worth to pay 8-10 times more for Osram LEDs. These chine ones were flickering, turning off. But since I bought first Osram set 4 years ago…… I forgot about changing led. I’ve changed cars and motorbikes and the same set I bought 4yrs ago is still with me, working flawlessly. I have total of 12pcs of Osram w5w and all of them are still working as position lights, license plates lights, interior.

      It's just luck of the draw, especially if you go for really cheap ones. Not all of them are bad, it's mainly the _really_ cheap no-name LEDs that have problems, but even some of those can last a long time. I've mostly used Auxito for the last 3 years; not only in my car, but also in other people's cars. All the ones in my car still work, as are all the others (minus one T10 in my sister's car, but that was a one-off, as I've fitted plenty prior to that which all still work). I even have some no-name T5 LEDs in my car which are all still working after 3.5 years, but at the same time I've also had plenty of no-names that died within 1-2 months.

    I am using philips and osrams for exterior lighting and chinese stuff for the interior. the interior lights are only one for seconds or minutes so so far this mix of good brands and chinese stuff has worked well for me.

    Felicitari pt organizare si profesionalismul studiului. Chinezariile au inceput sa devina mai bune si chiar si aceste no-name uri dau rezultate bune, atat timp cat nu cumperi cel mai ieftin produs, conversia pe led poate fi o reusita.

    This is a fantastic channel and your efforts are very much appreciated. It's certain to grow steadily as more people discover it. I do think you are putting in extra time and making your videos worse with the currently popular sound effects. Being startled or distracted by sudden noises does not help us absorb the information you're giving us. The blast of air sound which is now everywhere is particularly annoying. You can blaze a new path by walking away from this fad.

    • @SergiuGabor
      @SergiuGabor  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Thank you Jozsef! To be honest, every time I'm working on a video and the time comes to add the sound, I remember your comments about the sound effects 😂 Every time! I'm sorry that you find it distracting and please believe me that I always reduce the sound level very low on that effect, mostly because of what you told me. It's at -20dB and I can barely hear it... am I going deaf? I tried to remove it, but in my opinion it's better to leave it in. If more viewers complain about it, I will remove it.

    • @jozsefizsak
      @jozsefizsak 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SergiuGabor I didn't realize I was repeating myself, so sorry for nagging. The issue is the sudden, abrupt onset. I've generally lived on main streets with loud cars, trucks and motorcycles going by and I don't even notice them. If someone bursts a balloon behind us, we generally jump but with the whooshing air blast sound, it just represents the onset of a sudden mechanical issue requiring immediate attention in my head that I have to mentally dismiss and that's the distraction. (Maybe I just need a new head!) Do remember Shakespeare talking about painting the lily. Perfection does not require embellishment. No one else is providing this important information and it's not about entertainment value although your sense of humor is wonderful. ;-)

    Good timing haha. I recently switched my number plate lights to Osram 0.5w leds. The old halogens must’ve gotten so hot that when I tried to remove the bulb from the housing, the housing clips were brittle and broke off. The plastic of the housing was bubbled up and turned slightly black as well. I replaced it

    I chose Osram (over m-tech and Philips) because I wanted 6000k standing light and wasn't sure about m-tech. In direct comparison between the two big brands I've noticed that Osram is usually more color accurate and brighter.
    But it's good to know m-tech is an option.

    I noticed MAXGTRS lights pop up on your post. Nearly every BAY15 light I have bought from them failed in a few months and their tail/brake lights (like most others) do not have have enough brightness definition between tail and stop. The only MAXGTRS BAY15 that have lasted were two white lights I used for reverse lights. The only good thing about them is they come in a nice box 🤦

    This video is just the push I needed to make a decision. A reputable car lighting guy recommended Osrams or Philips if I couldn’t get the Osrams. The prices have kept me away since my car takes 15 W5W bulbs. Seeing your video with more real world info opposed to opinion or sales pitch coupled with a sale on the Osram 6000k bulbs sealed the deal. $55 for eight 2-packs vs $112 for the Philips.
    Thanks for this and your other videos.

    I am running four LED H (red version) in my 2020 VW e-up! since 1.5 years now and they work perfectly fine ever since, they stay cool and are light, so they do not fall into the lamp housing caused by shocks and vibrations, like some heavier bulbs tend to do over time. They do not even trigger a CANBUS warning, which I was honestly suprised of.

    • @13YTe
      @13YTe 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      LED H 3 years of usage without any problems... they shine 3 times more that incandescent bulb, they are cold enough to be safe, they don't broke easy on the headlight housing... they are not the brightest but they are good enough for this application.

    Another trap for the unwary: Some T10 LED housings (G, I, J, N, O) have alloy sides either as a heat-sink or for cosmetic reasons. These may be a problem in some vehicles. In my case, a 2006 Subaru Outback. The front park light holder has metal contacts that go up beside the bulb. They would short out on a T10 LED with an alloy base.

    nice. i bought Narva-styled T10 for $.3 a piece from xstorm. they're non-polarity and performed quite okay after i removed the "canbus" resistors. half of the power were wasted into heat. it's true that most of the time, the driver would went out first. i had 1156 6 Cree XBD LED that was died after 4yrs of use. turns out it was the MLCC shat itself taking the bridge rectifier with it. it works fine after i removed the MLCC and replaced the rectifier.

    Buna Sergiu și felicitări, din nou, pentru încă un video reușit!
    Am sa prezint aici un aspect pe care nu l-am văzut expus de tine in acest video si anume faptul ca: niciunul dintre becurile LED, fie de tip W5W, prezentate in acest video, folosite ca si becuri de poziții, fie becurile H7, pentru care ai făcut review, folosite pentru Faza Scurta/Lunga, sau cele H8, H9, H11, H16 etc. (Pentru luminile de ceata/ cornering) precum și becurile P21W și PY21W, folosite pentru mers inapoi / poziții / semnalizare nu au marcaj de omologare pentru a fi folosite pe drumurile publice.
    Acest marcaj de omologare se afla pe orice componenta folosită in construcția unui autoturism și certifica faptul ca elementul poate fi folosit legal. Marcajul de omologare e de forma: E, urmat de o cifra, ce semnifica țara de producție, ca de exemplu E1 - Germania, totul inclus in interiorul unui cerc. Veți vedea acest simbol pe absolut orice componenta de la bec pana la componente din interiorul motorului.
    Înțeleg motivația celor care doresc sa facă conversia la bec de tip LED atât din punct de vedere al aspectului vizual cât și al economiei de energie și al eficientei.
    Aduc aminte de această “problema”, întrucât ma aflu in ipostaza in care ma întâlnesc zilnic cu astfel de “conversii” din prisma verificărilor tehnice: Inspecția Tehnica Periodica (ITP).
    Conform legislației din România și a metodologiei după care se verifica autoturismele in România RNTR - 1 aceste tipuri de becuri nu sunt admise pentru circulația pe drumuri publice și sunt de părere ca oamenii ar trebui sa știe acest aspect, înainte de a interveni asupra mașinii lor și de a transforma orice sursa de lumina in bec de tip LED.
    Nu doresc sa par absurd ca și cum asta ar fi singura problema a autoturismelor de pe drumurile noastre, însă este un aspect ce trebuie avut in vedere, mai ales ca unele becuri de acest tip nu sunt chiar ieftine.
    Scuze pentru comentariul lung. Sunt curios sa văd ce opinii mai au si ceilalți membri ai comunității.

    I think depending on the application: some LED bulbs deserve more credit, than they get. What's wrong with LED S? Based on the tests in this video, I decided to order a pair for my license plate lights.
    They have similar light output as the Osram, and are both small in size. So they would fit perfectly in the license plate lights. How bright do you want the bulbs to be?
    11lux vs 38lux is already 3.5 times as bright, which is plenty of brightness for license plate lights.

    Goodness me I'm using the T16 version of LED-C, same brand... Hope the glue holds up.

    Sylvania Zevo led light 2825 should be brighter than Osram tested here. I just wonder how good it is?

    Hello Sergiu, I congratulate you for your analysis of LED lamps, really very good.
    Unfortunately in my country we do not have a variety of brands to buy T10 LED.
    I have a motorcycle and I wanted to change T10 indicators for Chinese T10 LEDs similar to the F or Q model in your review.
    When removing the incandescent T10 I found 2 of 3.4W and 2 of 1.7W (I thought they were all the same).
    My question is if the 0.6W OSRAM will have more illumination than the T10 3.4 or 1.7W?
    In your lighting test you did not include the T10 incandescents.
    Thanks and good job.
