Hey try it like this. It's a mixed drink style
Put 24 piece jolly blue jolly rancher
In a quart jar. Add 1 cup of alcohol. I use 60%. Dissolve. Add 1/8th cup to 1/4 cup.too much will.be to sweet grenadine, it will turn purple. then top off with sprite or 7up. Your welcome homies lol.
Blue raspberry is the best
Green apple is good if you like green apple and the same for watermelon

in england we get sweets called greys herbal tablets and when added to whisky they give it a drambuie flavour without the sickly sweet thing going on, this also works with sweets called black jacks which are mainly aniseed flavour but this isnt a copy of drambuie but is nice all the same

My jolly rancher moonshine turned out, Not clear at all and looks like the sugar is all along the sides of the jar, I only used 15 ranchers and its 170 proof Shine

They are little hard candy's called Jolly Ranchers. they were really big in the 80's and 90's here in the states, most people ate them as kids.
They are really flavorful and tasty, and really hard! I've been careless enough to occasionally lose a doggone tooth because of them, so just allow them to dissolve in your mouth, and enjoy the flavor. I put 15 jolly ranchers in a jar and filled with 151 proof everclear and it dissolved the candies but there's white sediment at the bottom. I believe it is sugar. Does anyone know how to avoid this?
You could run it through a sieve into another jar
Syphon off the top and leave the sediment in the bottom or run it through coffee filter

proofed it before adding the candy, the candy does not take up enough volume to change the proof dramatically, mainly the candy is mad up of sugar, and flavoring.

5-7 days, it’ll also break down faster in the freezer be sure to shake the shit out of it every day and they’ll dissolve...
I put it in my 100 proof and it dissolved in 8 hours.. 20 jolly ranchers

I don't get why people still talk in "proof" as opposed to % (ABV)?
ABV became standard a few decades ago, so it doesn't make sense.
Like what's the point? It's it about sounding different, or cool? Is it an old school thing? I know Canada changed over to % in the early '70's. I'm not sure about the US though.
To be clear, I'm not criticizing, just wondering.
We talk about proof because of how high the alcohol content is, same reason when you buy any high alcohol content like tequila, vodka, moonshine etc. it says the proof on the bottle. Abv is reserved more for beer and other low alcohol content.

Why say "this vodka is 80 proof" VS "this vodka is 40%"
It's redundant to me as the standard is ABV. Also, I don't recall seeing proof on any booze in Canada. I'm not saying some don't say that, but I've never seen it. And I drink mainly drink rye and vodka, which is in the 40's.
Anyhow, so how I take it your saying that there only reason is because it's high alcohol percentages and there is no other reason. I guess to make it stand out?
@@janX9 I think it’s a marketing ploy here in the states, we’re simple here and saying I drank half a quart of 100 proof moonshine sounds more badass than I just drank half a quart of 50% abv. Gotta play to your audience.

You are allowed to make it for your own consumption just not allowed to sale it. And only a hundred gallons
*Technically* it's federally illegal all across the US to distill alcohol beverages without a license. But you have to *really* fuck up and get greedy to get the Feds involved.
Some states allow personal distilling, sometimes that's only with a state permit and federal license, some places it's illegal but the sheriff doesn't give a damn as long as you don't get caught selling it, and then some states still have dry counties where you can't even buy taxed legal booze at a store. It just depends where you live.

You are not adding that much so the ABV is gonna be almost the same it might depreciate 5% if that, as long as it don't freeze it will still burn going down.
