Hello to you Windsong !! Susan from Mewe here, if you remember by chance. I haven't been over there for some time but seen your recipe here today and wanted to say Hey. It looks mighty yummy😋. Everything's always better out of the measuring cup lol. Hope you have been well and that summer is treating you guys good. Can't wait to try the recipe. 🥂 Love and blessings y'all 💕❣️🍀😁🙏🖖💖
@@StillnTheClear I'm 100% sure it's amazing! I've been wanting a good watermelon recipe and this one is it. I ruined my peach brandy run/backset yesterday 😫 😪 I bumped the knob or just got complacent and didn't set it right. Either way the heat was almost on high, it puked really bad and scorched the run before I caught it. The mash/backset was ruined took an hour scrubbing a 3 gallon still 😑 😒 . Was 3rd generation too.
I make a great watermelon....I have NEVER thought to use the actual watermelon juice vs using some Hawaiian Punch watermelon stuff...I can’t wait to try it this way
The "I do alot of corn stuff" shirt on your website looks great ! Hope it has your logo on the front too. (Shwag/advertising). Will be ordering one in 2 weeks. Can't wait !!!
What’s the shelf life of this? Does it need to be kept in refrigerator? I’m running 5 gal of mash made from watermelons and was looking for a way to keep it flavorful.
It is good for several months. Some of these flavored drinks will separate over time, so a good shake up is required if they have been sitting a while.
Hey all still getting into the recipes haven't been to adventured yet. What do the raisons add? Just wanting to learn. I know in mead our wine etc can be nutrients.
You can leave it in a fridge for months and it will be good, but there will be a layer of pulp that Will separate and sink to the bottom. Pull it out shake it up and it's ready to go.
In your video it sounds like you simmer 4 to 5 minutes after adding the raisins but the transcript says 45 minutes. Can you please confirm which one is correct. Thanks
Now y’all keep giving us great ideas! Looks awesome!
We'll keep'm coming.
Looks fantastic
Now that looks mouth-wateringly gooooood!
Just saw the short you did. Looks real good
Love those copper measuring cups !!
IKR! I got the set from Amazon amzn.to/3vt7Qrv

Thanks for sharing
That's great. It really is a wonderful recipe.
We make a fantastic apple pie and lemonade, we are definitely adding this ,thanks for the video 👍

@@PoppaLongroach I've done that before. It's so disappointing, especially when it's my own carelessness.

WooHoo! That's awesome.
❤️
Awesome thank you Ms. Windsong!!
Your very welcome 🙂
@@Windsong_STC subscribed ma'am, please keep them coming my wife love the Peach Cobbler as did I.
Wonderful. I'm glad you liked it. More are definitely coming. I'm not sure how many Cy wants to do, but I have plenty to keep him going for a while 🙂
We are loving them, can't wait to do the watermelon. Here in South Mississippi we picked our watermelon yesterday so I'll keep you posted.
Please do 💞
I love it ! Great job ! Moor , show us all moor , you ROCK !!!!!!
More coming.
sound so good will give a try and don't worry your are not the only one to make spills cheers my Friend Do you think that it will last two weeks?
IKR, I spill all the time. If I tried to edit out the spills there wouldn't be much of a video to watch sometimes.
We try to give it at least 24 hrs to sit. Even that's been difficult, lol.
Hi randy 👋🤗
Quick questions do you simmer 45 minutes or 4 to 5 minutes and does it need refrigeration after its made looks good can't wait to try it
I'd do this but using actual watermelon shine because that stuff s fantastic!
That's awesome 👍
The "I do alot of corn stuff" shirt on your website looks great ! Hope it has your logo on the front too. (Shwag/advertising). Will be ordering one in 2 weeks. Can't wait !!!
Sorry, no logo on that design.
What a great shirt. Thanks for the inspiration.
looks awesome!
It is sooo good.
That looks delicious. May I ask if you used neutral (sugar wash) or grain based moonshine?
Corn likker for that one.
@@StillnTheClear Sounds good. Thank you!
Thanks Bud
Does it need to be refrigerated? Made the peach it's great
It doesn't have to be refrigerated, but that is one that I prefer cold.
@@StillnTheClear sounds good thanks going to make it the peach cobbler was great
Great recipe 👌
Thanks
❤️
Damn your liquor cabinet must be a rainbow 😂 very cool
Good luck on two weeks . 😀
IKR! 🤣
Let Windsong know this recipe was a huge hit with everyone!!
Wonderful. Glad y'all enjoyed it 💞
I am hoping we get to see some of Wind Songs other recipes. I am hoping she has a Apple Pie recipe that is as good as the Peach Cobbler. 🙂
You know she does. I'm sure we'll be sharing it.
At what temperature do you let this sit for the 2 weeks ? Thank you …
Room temp is fine. The temp is not that critical
May I ask 2 weeks in the fridge or a dark cool shelf?
Letting it sit in a dark cabinet has always worked for us.
What’s the shelf life of this? Does it need to be kept in refrigerator?
I’m running 5 gal of mash made from watermelons and was looking for a way to keep it flavorful.

@@StillnTheClear ok thank you!
I just started watching videos like this... Who is Windsong?
Windsong is my wife and the flavored moonshine legend of the Ozarks.
@@StillnTheClear I love it. Thats so awesome.
Hey all still getting into the recipes haven't been to adventured yet. What do the raisons add? Just wanting to learn. I know in mead our wine etc can be nutrients.
They also help bring out the flavor of the watermelon. 🙂
Lord have mercy, my tongue just slapped my brains out. 🤤 ❤
Oh yeah, it's that good 😋
do the raisins resolve or do you strain them off after you simmer? thanks
You strain them off.
how long does it last for?
What kind of 120 proof moonshine?
When we made that video it was made with 120 proof corn likker, but we've been made it with a straight sugar wash also.
Does it need to be refrigerated for the 2 weeks?
No, We just store in a cabinet.
So after every is said and done am I correct to figure this is about 36-38 proof?
That's about right. You can adjust it up or down to your preference.
What do the raisins do?
Windsong says they help to make the watermelon flavor pop.
How long is it good for in the fridge?
How long can you leave this sitting?
You can leave it in a fridge for months and it will be good, but there will be a layer of pulp that Will separate and sink to the bottom. Pull it out shake it up and it's ready to go.
@@StillnTheClear amazing thanks. Much appreciated for the reply, hope you have a good day 👍

It is just 4 to 5 minutes.
Man you could be uncle si twin lol
😂
Hot damn!
You know that's right. 👍
Sorry but I missed where the raisins were used. 👍🏼🇦🇺
Raisins are put in the pot after the sugar is melted and before you start timing the 5 min simmer.
Uncle sai is that you
😂
3;42 😑😐😙
Can I just use store bought grain alcohol like everclear?
Yes. It won't taste exactly the same but it will be good.
