- We can't stop playing Rise of the Ronin on PS5. Rob quizzes Alex for his spoiler-free thoughts on the whole game, from combat mechanics and Team Ninja’s lethal battles to the thrill of exploring 19th century Japan - which you can drink in for yourself in our 4K Rise of the Ronin PS5 gameplay. Witness it for yourself when the game releases exclusively for PS5 on 22nd March.
Our Rise of the Ronin gameplay shows off a range of weapons and the deadly implements that will be heading your way. If you’ve read any Rise of the Ronin review you’ll know that this is a more accessible game than you might expect from the makers of Nioh and Wo Long, with lots of options to soothe newcomers in, but all the tight parrying mechanics you’d expect from the makers of Ninja Gaiden. This is the best of both worlds.
We also show off Rise of the Ronin coop, which lets you enlist two friends to join you in missions, should you not want to attempt it with your in-game allies. I’ve had an incredibly fun time playing this game. It’s fun as hell and the combat is awesome. And also can be very challenging. Sure, It’s not Ghost T or any other game. But so what? It is its own thing. I also get the criticism of this game and it’s valid. I’m very happy I got this game. For me a solid 7.5/10. I’ll totally play through this game many times. Thanks for the video. Keep up the good work.

Way of the Samurai is a better comparison for this game alongside Nioh and Wo Long, not Ghost of Tsushima imo

It’s more like way of the samurai and sekiro, I think people only compare GOT because of the samurai setting..
Well I expected good gameplay. Don't care about the other stuff. Team Ninja always makes the best combat. Games like Ghost of Tsushima or Elden Ring can't compete ever with the combat in a Team Ninja game.
nice physics, the explosions move the grass, the image is very clean with excellent anti-aliasing, even on the shadows, the animations are also very nice

After all the YTubers I was worried about the visuals. It's really not bad at all imo. Looks just fine to me and is a blast to play!

Other than graphics and nostalgia, I don’t see how anyone with a brain says ghost is better. I noticed alot of people hating on ronin haven’t actually played it and are just a GOT or DD2 fanboy, rise of the ronin in the better game graphics don’t > gameplay sorry.
Really? Crazy how people think way different stuff. To me this was nowhere even CLOSE to ghosts was. Also I enjoyed this but dd2 was far better to me too. This is a 7/10 at best. Dd2 was a 9/10 and ghosts was as well. But that’s just my opinion and seems to be the consensus I read online too.
This is a great introduction for Rise of the Ronin, Rob and Alex. 😊 I love the Nioh games so i’m definitely getting this too.
I am breezing through it on twilight. I am loving the combat. I love how instead of dodging blocking is OP. Mix blocks with parries and you dominate
Alex feels like a bit of a missing link for the channel IMHO. Brilliant. To the point, informative, zero rambling... love it.
I feel like he's kind of like Nathan in a way? Someone who's a fan of the more "hardcore" games with complex fighting mechanisms, like Nioh and Dark Souls. They're both competitive but in a completely cool and calm way.
I agree and disagree... I remember in the Access Granted days and one on onesie... Nathan was not calm. He went bananas. It was very entertaining, specifically one of the basketball games, (think it was a 2k) he went ballistic. It was brilliant. With regard to how he played though, yeah, quite similar to Alex but I think Alex has a lot of plats, so you could perhaps argue that he is the better gamer, but with Naths experience, he is the better host at the moment. ✌🏽

I need to revisit Nioh. I was so bad at that. The first boss was a wall I couldn’t pass. I got the platinum for Sekiro so if the fighting is similar and uses the parry skill maybe I should revisit it. Parry systems differ with timing game by game tho. I need to see more if this game is worth the money. I got both Nioh games free from ps+ so it wasn’t a loss not getting pass the first boss, but if I buy this and can’t get anywhere that would be devastating. I’m currently going for the platinum in FF 16 so it will be a minute, I have time to see reviews over the next month or so.
I feel like Nioh is the kind of game where a lot of the hardest parts are actually at the beginning of the game. Mainly because you have such a weak character with no special skills, paired with such difficult, badass bosses. But it gets soo much easier and more enjoyable as you progress through the game, and gain levels and so much cool skills. I was an anxious wreck at the beginning, but since the middle part I was just having soo much fun slaying the bosses rather easily.

It’s not always optimal but even if you stick to just Two stances, you’ll be pretty safe. Not always at advantage but it helps getting to grips with 2 and adding the third
And u have more then just 3 .. katana has 9 stances ... I think most reviewers didn't get into combat more ... everyone is just talking about how streamlined it is ... and that is even more simplified then the one in Wolong ... but that's false... it is more complex then Wolong.

Glad I bought the game, having fun with it thus far. Pacing/flow and difficulty settings make it more accessible than Dragon's Dogma 2.
Please please please make more fighting styles for barehanded! Like something focused on feet, aikido, taido and so on. Aikido would work brilliantly with counterspark!
the only thing im on the fence with this game about is the NPC companions, i want to play the games abit like i do wu long and nioh, i never summon in these games, and will prolly play on hardest difficulty, but im just gonna miss out too much with the bond system if i dont summon companions, its abit sad if it trivialize the game and make it feel too easy

I can't parry in this game at all... in swkiro I hardly miss. But this games parry window is driving me nuts. Team ninja said to play twilight difficulty to get a normal team ninja game.

Im loving this game! i started the game on dawn and 25 hrs into the game im on dusk now because im getting better at the game and just loving it

I'm glad this pointed out the MULTIPLE difficulty settings of this game. I've come across reviewers that have said certain points of the game are deemed "too hard" and I had to puke at the double-standard it sets. ESPECIALLY with the high prominence of Souls-style games that are NATURALLY difficult by default but have NO difficulty setting whatsoever. 🤮 Most early reviews have SEVERELY underrate this game. And don't tell me a 70 average score is "good" because college standard dubs this score "average". ANOTHER double-standard precedent.

I really wanted to play & love this game but instead I'm €79.99 out of pocket for a game that's unplayable imo. The so called Dawn, the easiest of the 3 difficulty levels which according to the game devs themselves is for players who just want to focus on the story & exploration, is still ridiculously hard to do in regards combat. Ghost of Tsushima actually gave players who are not into this souls like combat system an opportunity to play & enjoy their game. So bummed out right now!

@fiver1 so I'm not gunna sit here and tell you to "get gud" lol but there is a slight learning curve and I highly recommend you play enough to try and upgrade your medicine pouch to hold more healing and also equip the item that gives you more medicine drop chance that way you will always have close to max heals which should help you out significantly. I'm not a good player by any means but im playing on normal and it's a nice challenge so far. Also to make it easier. Use items(imbue your weapon in electric will "stun" them faster so you can get that critical hit in. Use the pills that make you stronger. Or the ones that make your ki regen faster. And best tip also if your really having a hard time perrying(which is the main focus of this game and its not easy) but try to get better at dodging then. Some enemies will still like BS hit you when you dodge so sometimes dodging into them it's better. Hopefully some of these tips help but don't give up. You got this. Just takes time to learn. OH! also try and steath fights to lessen the number of enemies the most u can before you fight the "leaders"

This game has been a ton of fun. The gameplay is more fun than what GOT was for me
I LOVE IT and I SPENT MONEY enjoying IT. Graphic is fine with ray tracing on, subtle, not too clean plasticky looks with oversize grass and flowers like in GOT . LoL😂🎉 Peace.

The music sound fantastic plus it's always nice to have more games set in this part of history I don't understand why people hate on the game, you can like this and ghost of tsushima at the same time, it's so fun to go from yakuza ishin to ghost of tsushima and now this and can wait for more cool games in the future

Not an offense to me but I am also not someone who is moved by review scores. Especially since most gaming journalist don't actually play games anyway. I am more of a "if i am interested in a game, I buy it, play it for myself and form my opinion from there" type of gamer.....but i realize that alot of ya'll need someone else to tell you what you think about the game.
@@corey_masseylikewise. I see a game and from there I get it depending on how much interest it sparked. After playing it I can judge it accordingly. I only see reviews and gameplay to see a bit more details before getting it or not. But if a game doesnt interest me. No amount of praise will convince me.

reviews are pretty mixed tho and by the gameplay ive seen it either needed a bit more time in the over or was awfully rushed .

As outlined in video, there is an easy difficulty. There are also extra options to take less damage, etc, so you can tailor it further.
Or you could play Minecraft or something more to your liking? Just a suggestion, because I’m growing tired of this age of pandering to peoples lack of effort. Some things will be for you in this life, some not so much. Find your place. There are games for you out there, don’t ruin it for the people that enjoy things like this because you think it’s “hard”.
But…. There is easy mode….
And spiderman 2 is kinda easy even in Supreme mode ( yes, Isomaniac,MAKE A HARDER MODE)

How is it it a GoT clone? GoT itself is just an inferior clone of Nioh which Team Ninja made.
2 hours in and loving it so far. Like how me and my girlfriend can do missions together and this is her first time going into a game like this. She gets frustrated but she is starting to get it and love seeing her yell stuff like "YEAH TAKE THAT!!!!"
If there was ever a game that needs a 4-6 week delay it's this game, with rebirth and dogma out this game is definitely gonna take a backseat for me. I'll buy it and play it definitely. Just not for a month, maybe 2.
Sorry, but I don't have the time or money to spend on mediocre games anymore. Hopefully it will come to PS Plus at some point in the future.
