PLEASE READ BEFORE COMMENTING! I'm so glad you're finding this video about my myomecmtomy helpful. Just a couple of updates 2 years post-op. My fibroids did re-occur as I suspected they would due to my strong family history. I was warned that this could happen. Since I didn't want to have this procedure again, after consulting with my GYN, we opted for switching of my uterine IUD from Paraguard (copper) to Mirena (progestin) under general anesthesia and a myomecmtomy of one fibroid that was done vaginally at the same time. I needed no recovery time and I am happy to report that after a few months, my symptoms are much better and my menstruation has become much more manageable. I barely notice my period anymore and it used to be a life-stopping monthly occurrence. So less invasive options are available. As with ANY medical procedure, consult with YOUR MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL. I am a random person. Not only am I not a medical doctor, I'm not YOUR medical doctor. Questions about cost, location, insurance are purely personal and will vary from person to person. I cannot answer these questions for you, I can only provide a story of my experience to help comfort those who are about to have this procedure. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for sharing this. I'm really afraid of having surgery but I fear it might be time to take these out. Do you feel the doctors prepped you for what to expect or do you feel you discovered a lot on your own?
@@joaris333 I felt prepared. But I am an inquisitive person, I have had previous surgeries and am the daughter of two people who performed surgeries on the regular, so I feel really comfortable under their care.
I am watching this video on the day I am diagnosed with a big fibroid of 10cm located on my uterus, I am super depressed, losing the zest for life. Very soon I have to undergo the laparscopic Myectomy :(everything about the surgery is givin me jitters I am losing my focus....
Just had this surgery yesterday ❤️😅Everything went way better than expected. I'm healing and walking around my little studio. Thanking God for His provision and help, daily 🙏🏿❤️
@@MsPhoenix99 I got the laparoscopic myomectomy. Unfortunately, it came back 😭 Doctors suggest getting pregnant within the next six months after the surgery but I wasn't ready yet.
@@ramieyaharris Why do anyone; Doctor or parent put that burden on women to have a whole human? I definitely don’t want to be a single parent & for that to be the only solution to fibroids.
I wanted to let you know watching this made me feel better about having this procedure. I’ve been emotional and scared after agreeing to have this done but these fibroids are ruining my life.
Just had my surgery done the day before yesterday and I thank the MOST HIGH for guidance/protection and guiding the hands of my doctors!!! I had 2 removed from my ovaries the size of a saucer plate and also 3 smaller ones. My stomach hurts but still feels so much better (if that makes any sense to you all). I can actually hold my urine better already and my stomach is much flatter. I’ve always had a flat stomach until my fibroids came into the picture. Thank you for your encouraging video. To the women who are thinking about getting the procedure done, do it. It’s not as bad as you think at all!! Best of luck to you ladies along your journey.
Today I found out I need surgery before I can have a baby and I was in tears when the doctor told me it was the size of a baseball. Your video truly just put me at comfort knowing I’m gonna be ok. Thankyou.
I had my surgery a couple years ago & during the surgery the surgeon tried to repair my herniated belly button….. I ended up having surgery again to fix that and now I feel amazing!!!! Now working on weightloss and because I am not having any complications I feel so much better!!!! I never realized how much pain I was in on a daily basis… now to not have that pain feels amazing.
we have a very very similar experience. I however had 3 surgeries. 2 unsuccessful laparoscopic myomectomy and 1 open Myomectomy on the last one they removed 14 fibroid. I was able to get pregnant 7 months after the last surgery. we have been trying for 5 years prior.. i wish you luck and safe recovery.

@@justnikki23 im on this process now just find 2 large fibrosis about 9cm and others sizes so upsetting as im also thinking to have a baby as im 39...just waiting for the doctor to give me options...can’t even sleep now ☹️
Hey everyone! I am so glad you are all enjoying this video! Just know, that there are some spammy comments within threads touting "Herbal Remedies". DO NOT ENGAGE WITH THESE POSTS. I do my best to try and delete them, but they are getting pretty sneaky these days. These "treatments" are not medically proven. Talk to your BOARD CERTIFIED GYNECOLOGIST about what treatment will be the best for your individual condition and talk to your medical insurance representative if you have questions about what the treatments will cost you. BE WELL!
I had a myomectomy before I had children, it was the full myomectomy not laparoscopic because the fibroid had grown. I had a similar experience, it did take time to heal but the surgery was a success. You are so calm and reassuring. It’s a great video that can bring comfort to other women who are worried. Good idea to make it.
Shahyee, were you able to have children after the surgery? If yes, how many? It has been one year since i did the surgery, I have not been able to get pregnant yet.
@@nadinelouis6210 Hello, yes I have had four. I don't think conception is an issue with the surgery. The only issue I have learned about is the implantation. It's possible for baby to implant on the smooth scar from the surgery, that could be issues with sturdy implantation or placenta abruption. I found that information out from my MFM Specialist. This cannot be prevented from my understanding, except by prayer to The Lord and faith. I am not sure if IVF could implant in an area less likely to have a scar, it might be worth it to investigate that. Prayers for your womb to be fruitful, don't give up!
@@Shahyeethank you so much for responding, I'm still praying, I have been married since 2012, since then I have been trying. Do you had to do c-section, they told me I have to do c-section whenever I get pregnant.
@@nadinelouis6210 Yes, I had c-sections. Since it has been since 2012, maybe it is time to investigate IUI and IVF and visiting a fertility doctor for tests to find out what can help if you have not done that yet? Sometimes cysts, polyps and small fibroids can be in places that block conception and an exam can detect those along with a hysteroscopy.
@@Shahyee I'm already in the process doing IVF, I already did the egg retrieval last month, I only have 3 normal embryos from 7 embryos. Thank you so much
I have a 6cm fibroid and I’m going into surgery soon and it’s just the scariest thing for me. I love to see you smile, you give me hope. To all the women that have to deal with this: get well soon. We are going to survive, we will be ok 🥺
@@duamohammed5566 it went well!! Within 24 hours I was out of bed and doing things around the house. I felt back to normal within a week! But you’re supposed to take it easy for 6 weeks which was difficult to do considering I felt GREAT! My stomach was flatter, I didn’t have any gas issues, the scars are minimal, I am back to NORMAL menstruation cycles(so happy!), lighter periods. I was terrified about the recovery but it literally was so quick!
@@MadisonWestfield thank you so much for getting back to me and making me feel better. I hope you carry on with being well and keep on having a healthy life.
I had an aborting myoma (a fibroid that tries to extract itself but is still attached to torture you!). I had all the same symptoms and I was so tired I couldn't walk down the street! My surgeon was a cute African guy, who was the last person I saw before I went under. Afterward I went home and was okay after a few days! Girls, get checked and get it sorted! You'll feel so good after. I put it off too!!!
@@nikkis8102 I'm so sorry it was many years ago (about 7 or 8) and the doctor was a surgeon at the hospital. I don't know where those medical records are. So sorry!
Such an informative and helpful video, Kay! I went through 35 years of severe pain and blood loss with my six big fibroids. When I finally asked about surgery, I was told that since my fibroids were inside the uterine walls themselves that I was not healthy enough for the surgery. If I hadn’t waited so long to ask about surgery, I might have had a very different life. I was told that menopause would shrink the fibroids considerably, but no such luck. I am 71 with no shrinkage of tumors and lots of pain and pressure. If anyone is putting surgery off...don’t wait!
Melissa I’m so sorry to hear this! I know this is an old comment, so I hope you are doing a lot better now. I am 35 and having robotic myomectomy surgery in two days. I am so scared but your comment did encourage me so much. Have you thought about a hysterectomy? I know they can leave your ovaries and cervix nowadays.
I am having a surgery in a few days time. My uterus is 15 weeks as well as I have multiple fibroids or more than 7 cms. It’s my first surgery and I am nervous. But this video has been really helpful. Just wanted to ask if the scars fade away?
I am so glad I found this video. I have 5 fibroids, the largest is 8 cm, and I am scheduled for the laparoscopic myomectomy on 10/16. I am very nervous, but I found your video very comforting (I also found your speaking voice very soothing-makes sense you are a singer!). Good luck to everyone in the thread going through the same thing! Now I am going to check out your organizing videos!
I had the same procedure done just last week for multiple fibroids. They removed so much that I don't believe it myself. I am glad I had it done .. I am slowly but recovering at home after 2 nights at the hospital.
I just had an open abdominal myomectomy 6 days ago. My recovery process has been quite easy and quick. The nurses even told me I was a star patient! I'm so glad I got those little devils taken out me! I still feel groggy on some days with soreness and some pain but each day gets better!🙂
I had to hit pause for a second , this hit home and tears filled my eyes . I’m 30 yrs old with fibroids the size of a ping-pong ball in my uterus wall. I’m nervous to have surgery , I’m just afraid of the pain afterwards and the recovery. I’m upset that I have them but there’s nothing I can do about that now. this video is really helpful , as I recollect myself I want to say thank you for sharing your experience ❤️
Same here. 30 years old with multiple fibroid. Been depressed ever since i found out. I'm scared about going through the rigorous process of having a surgery. But in the end , it is what it is🤷♀️
Thank you over a million times I have to do this surgery on September 20, 2020, and I am TERRIFIED 😨 I found and watch your video and I thank you very much for this video, GOD bless you and I am now subscribed.
I just had the surgery 3 weeks ago , everything went good, my fibroid was 11 cm my doctor told me it was the size of a baby head , but thank God , my Mom and my husband im doing great
This was such a great video. I am watching this through tears and have suffered with fibroids for the last 7 years when I first noticed the symptoms. Last year took a major toll with the stress of the pandemic and now I have to face the music. I'm tired of the pain, heavy bleeding, and pelvic pressure so surgery seems the way to go. I too have been told that the size of my uterus is equivalent to that of being 4 months pregnant. This definitely was very helpful. Thank you for the insight. I wish you well with your ongoing recovery.
Don't be scared. It's terrifying at first but get a Gyno you are comfortable with. Get a referral from the best hospital in town and you'll be fine. I told the doctor at the hospital that I was terrified to get this fixed and he referred me to his wife's Gyno. Best choice I ever made.
I had no idea till right now that you went through this! I had a hysterectomy the week before everything shut down in March 2020. It got to the point where I couldn't stand straight in the morning and I looked massively pregnant. I had the best surgeon, thankfully. Literally the best doctor I've ever had. I look so different now and my back pain went completely away, as well as other symptoms. If I knew I'd feel this good, I would have had this done years ago, if I had known better. I don't have a platform but I've been very open sharing because this is not talked about enough and we need community around this. You're so kind to share your story. I'm so happy you're doing well and feeling better. XO
Awesome video almost identical to my experience. Very heavy periods, cramps, bladder pressure, infertility, severe anemia in my 30s. Just had the robotic myomectomy 2 days ago (12/15/20) and I feel pretty good. The recovery feels so much better than the pain from the fibroids. They removed 6 fibroids, 2 were around 5cm the rest were smaller. I now have light cramping, very little bleeding, occasional nausea from the pain medication.
Hi I am having the same surgery. I'm getting help at home from friends and wanted to get an idea of how many days post op can I expect to be less dependent on others ?
@@salponce78 After about 3 days I was able to do most things for myself. I still needed help bending and reaching though. If they can help you bathe and put items in places where you can avoid bending, lifting, or stairs then you should be ok. After a week I was cooking and cleaning again. This was honestly one of my easiest surgery recoveries.
@@ivettesaldana01 I haven’t tried yet, but we do plan to try soon, so I’ll let you know how it goes. I had an HSG recently and my uterus looks good no longer a distorted shape from the fibroids.
OMG! I love that you posted this story!! I literally just found out that I have Uterine Fibroids today. I immediately started doing research on the Robotic Meyomectomy- Low and behold, I came across your channel and story🤗 I am so happy I found you there! God bless you and now I can really consider this procedure ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I had my procedure done September 2nd and today is September 8th, 2022 and so far recovery is decent. I’m able to walk around, go to the bathroom without assistance and cook food but being careful with picking up things. I’m so thankful that I got this procedure done because my periods were god awful for months! I was tired of the heavy bleeding and constant pain! The whole month of freakin August I was bleeding every single damn day up until my surgery.. unbelievable. I’m happy for this road to recovery and having a better quality of life now and my periods don’t dictate my social plans and how I live.
Even after 4 years, this video is still very true. I had my surgery last month after a struggle for almost an year. As you mentioned, I always had the thought of let me fight it out without surgery and everything is in my head. Every month going through a very heavy bleeding, severe abdomen pain, hb levels going down - it was just a never ending cycle. And after almost two years got the surgery down and I got my period last week. Even though it was little heavy, but stopped in 3 days and had 0 pain. For all the women who have heavy or painful period please get it checked immediately and take necessary treatment. You don't need to fight over it. Thank you so much for posting this.
I just found out that I have fibroids that actually are affecting my nerves and causing acute pelvic pain. You mentioned chest tightness though. I’ve gone everywhere to try and figure that part out…with no luck. You’re the first person I’ve found who at least mentioned it. At least now I have a question to ask my gyno to expound on why chest pain could be related.
I'm currently dealing with this and thought it was bc of the low iron or the location of the fibroid, did you ever find out what it was bc I would like to know what this is too.
I had a DaVinci complete hysterectomy in December. Recovery was not bad at all! I am so grateful to have it done. Glad you are on the road to recovery. :-)
I enjoyed your video and the information you shared with us is valuable! I’m going to see obgyn about my fibroids and I think I’m going to get the surgery asap because I have been suffering for a couple of months. Thank you again
Thank you so much, I will pursue this type of treatment. At age 62 I went for three doctor consultations and they are only interested in doing a hysterectomy. I am empowered to find he best least invasive procedure that will preserve my body parts. That would be a much longer recovery since it is much more tissue.

Thank you so much I cant wait to have mines removed in June. The heavy bleeding has been too much over the years. The only thing, I have never had period pains or cramps in my life. Thank you for sharing! Lots of your advice is exactly what I did when I had a hysterectomy 3 years ago for fibroids. I would have had a myomectomy if I had been younger, but since I knew I didn’t want any children and my fibroids were quite large, I opted to get everything out but my ovaries (did NOT want early menopause). A clean home, some entertainment lined up, and a strict medication schedule is super helpful. I’m so glad you’re feeling better and that you’re back with videos!

Hi, I’m watching your video after I’ve had my surgery. I did not know anything about fibroids. I just knew my period all of a sudden got extremely heavy, anemia became more prevalent, and my visits to doctors and hospitals increased from 0 to 4-5 visits a month. I found out I had 3 fibroids. Two about small to medium size and one about medium size. Scheduled surgery and was ready to be done with it. Got a final CT scan before surgery and was ready to go. Had surgery last Monday found out that I actually had 13 fibroids growing in my uterus. One had attached to my right fallopian tube, which had to be removed along with the fibroid. Now I’m in recovery thankful it’s over for now. I wish I’d known more about this condition and more aware of the symptoms so that I could’ve seemed treatment sooner. Your experience is helpful and comforting to others going through this. Thank you!

It's good to hear your surgery went well, and you're healing! The incision in the belly button is the worst! I had gall bladder surgery late January, and they needed to remove my gall bladder through my belly button, gah! It takes time to heal 😒. I was the biggest wimp and baby, lol!

So I had issues early on, my cycles were off the chart horrible.. the doctor said it was like I was having contractions like with pregnancy every cycle.. Surprised I ever made it through but thank the Lord I did.. I had endometriosis and everything else.. I could not have children :(. Had to have a thyroidectomy a few years ago and no cycle since! Thank you so much for sharing your experience Kay, really helpful! Sometimes these things don’t get talked about enough, and are dismissed as ‘women’s problems’! Glad you’re recovering ok ☺️
I had my first abdominal myomectomy at 18 and the second at 23. I’m 25 now and have about 4 large fibroids with the largest being 11 centimeters. And they are ruining my life 😭 My doctor says she won’t do any more surgery on me because there’s a high risk of my uterus being damaged to the point of me NEEDING a hysterectomy. She suggested this procedure and is sending me to a specialist. No kids yet but I’m holding out hope that I can get this procedure and safely have one or two one day 😊 Update: I had my surgery with the specialist this last November and it was a success! He removed over 30 fibroids 😱 when the previous surgeons only felt confident removing a few so the remaining fibroids always grew and caused problems later on. Almost 9 months post and so far so good! No babies yet but I shouldn’t have any problems carrying

So glad I came across this video 😊 I have had fibroids since 2021. They were a lot of them but they were small. Fast forward to 2022, they grew large and my abdomen got big as well to the point to where people would ask me if I was pregnant 🤦🏾♀️ It was so embarrassing!! I had 2 MRIs and the doctor explained that I had 5 fibroids. 3 large ones(one is 15cm, the other one is 13cm and the 3rd one is 8cm) on the outside of my uterus and they were 2 small ones(6cm each) that were embedded in the submucosal area of my uterus. I’m also anemic too so I eat a lot of kale salads and then I take iron pills regularly. I have never cut open before so I was extremely nervous but after watching this video, I’m glad to know I’m not the only one who would be having this surgery. The doctor was like I’ll feel so much better and I can’t wait for that feeling. I’m tired of the heavy bleeding, pelvic pain and pressure, lower back pain. Before I had fibroids, I used to wear Always pads but since I had fibroids, I wear at least 2 depends a day 😳 When my doctor told me my iron level was a 5, he told me I had to have a blood transfusion. One of the fibroids is underneath my rib cage 🩻 and pushing on my liver so yeah… I’m nervous but I I’m glad I came across your video. 😊
This is so helpful . I'm having my myomectomy after two weeks from now and I feel strong after listening to this. Was so scared I even got a high BP because of the scare.
😳You poor thing! I can't imagine having my angry uterus go through menstruation so soon afterwards! I hope you now no longer have an iron deficiency, etc. You are even organized with your paperwork 🤦🏼♀️!!! So cute!! Glad you're feeling better Kay! Great informative video.💕🤗
hi I am 38 years old and I have fibroids saying I'm going to have them removed on March 2nd and I am very scared to I never had the surgery done before watching your video I thank you for the confidence and and telling me what to do or how to handle is surgery and Recovery as well
I had my Fibriod removed last month, it was submucosal Uterine fibroid, it was removed through laparoscopy procedure. 3 hours procedure and I stayed in the hospital for 3days, I would say my gyno and the entire team are just the best. I got my period same day of my surgery, I woke up with pad and panties already fixed for me it was light bleeding first day and second day but the 4th and 5th day was a bit heavy cos in the past I suffered from heavy bleeding and have even passed out once and landed in the hospital. So the bleeding after my surgery wasn’t that serious compare to my usual heavy bleeding. I had my second period after surgery few days ago and this is the best thing that has happened to me in 7yrs, there was no pain just normal uneasiness in your stomach which didn’t last for long and also I did not use any pain reliever this month, before i can’t do without pain reliever even after my period I still use it cos I was always seeing mid circle period and in pain. This month period was not serious bleeding, I sleep without bn scared or waking up at night to change pad. So I’m leaving this comment here because I watched this video before my surgery and it gave me so much courage to go for it. So if you have fibroid don’t be scared to remove it, you deserve painless and normal period. So Goodluck
Thank you for your informative and candid video about your experience. The irony of your talking about being exhausted, while Clover was completely passed out behind you, was not lost on me.

I’m sending you a great big 💋. I had the same problem and had a hysterectomy in 2018. Only two things to add: your shoulders may hurt after and prunes with breakfast. Thank you sharing - it is so helpful to know this from others with the same issue.
I TRULY APPRECIATE YOU TAKING THE TIME TO SHARE THIS USEFUL AND NEEDED INFORMATION WITH ME AND MANY! I NEEDE TO HEAR THIS! THANK YOU! LOVE AND BLESSINGS🙏✝️❤
Thank you for talking about this issue - I have had a very similar experience with fibroids and it took a very scary trip to the ER and many miserable years before I learned exactly what I what was wrong. Heavy bleeding was literally interfering with my life and causing me a lot of other health issues that took a few years to correct because my issues went on way too long. I opted for the uterine ablatuion because I already had children and it really changed my life. I now encourage other women to make sure they talk to their doctors about any issue and don't wait years like I did.
Yes. I am ashamed to admit it, but I didnt go to the gynecologist in years 😓 my fibroids most likely formed in those years, and only went to the gynecologist when the heavy bleeding started to ruin my life. Maybe I could have avoided the surgery, if my fibroids were detected earlier. Now I tell my friends to go to the doctor, before things go worse. But they dont listen 🤦♀️ just like me, they will probably go to the doctor when things go worse...
I've read that ablation isn't a good option for fibroids because it doesn't take care of the issue itself, which are the fibroids. But I'm afraid of surgery..so how has ablation been for you?? Does it depends how big or small they are?
@@lovebug1180 don’t be afraid once your under the anesthesia you won’t feel a thing, please don’t wait too long to decide until it gets worse. I have to have my second surgery because the fibroids grew back. The surgery went well and I felt great after recovering.

I want to thank you for thank you for your candid video. I am so anemic that I have been short of breath. I was turned away for a chest X-ray as the hospital did not want a patient with a COVID symptom to enter the facility. My COVID test was negative (I am vaccinated), my blood work ruled out a pulmonary embolism and I am awaiting the results of the chest X-Ray. My uterine ablation consult is in a week and your bravery made me realize this is no way to live.
Thanks for sharing. I’m on week three recovering from the same surgery. I’ve have ovarian cysts bursting. They found out that I have endometriosis during the surgery. I’m glad to know what has been the cause of all my suffering these past four years.
Yooo this is so good that you did this! I found out I had myomas back in may, and I just got them checked and I’m going to the doctor tomorrow to see what my options are since I have three and the biggest one is 4cm. Before I found out I had these, I never really heard about them or knew anything and seeing this video and reading the comments is so calming!
Wow. I am going through this right now! I started having heart palps, issues breathing, and tiredness which led to tests, which led to anemia. This happened mid Covid and long story short, I now know I have fibroids, and might need this procedure. THANK YOU for sharing your experience. I’m taking notes.
Great timing! I don't have fibroids, but am having my appendix removed laparoscopically in 3 days, so the tips are much appreciated. So glad you are starting to feel better!
@@lovelove326 Hi, so I had a total of six fibroids that had to be removed. Unfortunately when they got all the way inside. There was one that was super large. And when they were trying to remove it they were having trouble because it was so close to my uterine line. They said I was loosing so much blood that I almost went into stroke level. So they had to stop the surgery. Went out to the lobby to explain to my family what was going on and that the only thing they could do at this point was to do a full hysterectomy. So sadly that's what happened. I woke up and I had a whole hysterectomy when I had on went in to get my fibroids removed..my life changed drastically. I'll never be able to have kids. And unfortunately I don't have any at all. So I'll say good luck to you on your journey. Not everyone goes thru the same. I'm doing alot better tho mentally. I was really depressed about it. I'm going into surgery this Friday, 11/12/2021, and I just want to say thank you for being transparent. This video was helpful and has eased my mind a bit.
Thank you so much for this video, I am scheduled next week, I am freaking out, crying and so much nervous. I don’t really like surgeries so this would be the third one after my 2 c-sections. Thank you again you really calmed me down. Please guys keep me in your prayers 🙏
So glad you're feeling better & healing nicely! 💓🌻 I've had polyps & fibroids removed about 4 times, just quickly each time at the office visit. About 10 years ago I had a dermoid tumor removed that was on my ovary, & are generally benign, which was the case with mine. That was my only surgery where an incision was made & they had to remove my ovary as well. Now I have an appt in November to have more fibroids removed, a d&c. Can't wait until this is behind me! 😊✨ Your video gave great information & advice! ⭐👍🏻
So glad to find your video. I just came from a Doctor's visit on Friday and learned that I have one 9cm fibroid and 4 small ones. I'm working on having myomectomy surgery soon and I'm SO ready to get rid of these nagging nightmares. 😫😔My mom and grandma also had fibroids which lead to hysterectomies.
Thanks so much for this. I'm so happy that your procedure went well and that you feel better. I have my robotic myomectomy on Feb 2nd. Praying mine goes well too. Prayers and healing vibes for everyone going through this. ❤
Hi, I wanted to ask you a personal question, I hope not to offend. I've been wondering if abortions might attribute to fibroids? I've had one in the past, and I recently read a study that said that they could. This made me very curious because I know that they are more prevalent in black women, and planned Parenthood is more prevalent in Black neighborhoods. Have you ever had an abortion? If you're not comfortable having that on here, perhaps you could answer and then delete the comment after I read it?
@@joyharper7307 I have not heard that correlation and I have personally never had an abortion. The increased likelihood in African American women is genetic in nature, similar to propensity to sickle cell anemia. You're also much more likely to develop them if you've had a close relative that also developed them. My mother and I are both "lumpy and bumpy" in general and we have both have growths in the breast and uterus.
Thank you so much...I need this surgery badly cuz I am feeling horrible doctor said my fibroids r huge like if I was 20 weeks pregnant...I have always had bad pms have all those symptoms... CAN'T WAIT TO DO THIS..✝️🙏😔
This video is so needed!! I had a hysteroscopic surgery last year for one that was causing pain and heavy bleeding. I know I'm the future that I will need either an open myo or laproscopic surgery if the other "fruit" bother me too much. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for posting this. It helped me be more at ease before my surgery. I just had my surgery this past Thursday. It took 5 hrs. They removed 3. 10cm being the biggest one. Recovery has been tough (due to a having a cough). Thank you again. Merry Christmas everyone.
This was so interesting and informative Kay. You really explained things in a direct and helpful way. I had a laparoscopy (not for fibroids) about 15 years ago and wish I had been able to watch this for reassurance. Some really good advice for any type of surgery about planning, organising and talking through personal needs about anaesthesia too - I got super cold and my fingernails turned blue after mine :-) You should deff get your surgeon to signpost other patients of his to this, I am sure it would be super helpful for anyone about to undergo a similar surgery. So pleased you are having a decent recovery too!
Wow, that was a pretty involved process! I’ll bet it made things so much easier for recovery knowing that you had it all mapped out with a good plan! It seems like you’re doing well, all things considered. Lovely to see your smiling face! My surgery was a bit less complex. Just a few small polyps removed and a couple of days to recover. Glad you’re doing well! 😊👍🏽
Thank you! Yeah, once the surgeon got in there he was actually surprised at what he found and it took longer than anticipated. Hopefully, this will be the last and only time 🤞🏾
PLEASE READ BEFORE COMMENTING!
I just came across this video. Thank you for the update. I'm glad you're feeling better!

I went through 35 years of severe pain and blood loss with my six big fibroids. Even after 4 years, this video is still very true. I had my surgery last month after a struggle for almost an year.
As you mentioned, I always had the thought of let me fight it out without surgery and everything is in my head. Thank you for making this video I just found out I have fibroids and I’ve been super stressed about it and scared about getting surgery. This definitely made it a lot easier but I am still on edge
You’ll be great!
thank you so much for sharing your story! I'm scheduled for surgery exactly one month from today, I have a huge phobia of hospitals, needles anything medical and this has definitely helped me feel more comfortable. I'm seeing my surgeon in a couple of days and you have given me some more things to talk about with her. Thank you for taking the time to share your journey with this 💛💛
You will heal quickly your body is so strong 💪🏾. I know women are afraid . Don’t feel afraid of the experience. Our bodies are amazing and will recover . I had a myomectmy years ago and recovered in a few months . Going in for a surgery again and I know my body is strong and will heal again .
I hope you are well and healthy!
I just had this procedure & my period came the day after the surgery, I can totally relate to your experience. I am healing wel & every day seems to get better🙂 I wish you a long & healthy life!!
Hope you’re starting feel better Ivana
@@annomaly751 Thank you for asking, am doing so much better!! It is crazy how we get used to feeling crappy & don't even realize how much it affects us. I hope you are doing also doing well!! Take care :)
Yes I had this done in 2013, I’m 46 and unfortunately My fibroids grew back the pressure is horrible, currently in the hospital for severe anemia, will be getting my 2nd procedure soon, take care of yourselves ladies and don’t wait until the pain is unbearable do it asap
Thanks for the info. How has your period been since?
Hey how have you been feeling lately? Are you fully healed ?
I'm having a laproscopy in like 8 hours and this video helped a lot
Sending good vibes!
Just had my surgery June 9 and today is day 7. Emory St Joseph's in Atlanta. Was walking up stairs day 2. Off narcotics day 3. No longer taking Ibuprofen 800 and Tylenol 500mg as of day 6. Walking good. Feeling good. Belly button area sore a tad with scabs I guess inside but I'm blessed.
I’m in the Atlanta area as well.
Do you mind saying your OB/GYN, I need the surgery- but I’m not sure if my current OB/GYN will get the honors of performing my surgery..LOL
Had the same exact surgery in January along with a salpindectomy. My inscisions are in the same exact places as yours and we have a similar fibroid story. I am almost a year out of it and I am doing well. God bless you and glad to see you doing well.
OMG this is my exact story lol! Glad I found this video just found out I have fibroids and doing some research on myomectamy and natural remedies
Me too
WOW.... This Video Helped Me SO Much With My Anxiety 😢... I REALLY Owe You a Huge Hug 🤗, because I Felt Like You were hugging ME While walking Me Through ALL of This SUPER VALUABLE INFORMATION... Bless You For taking the Time to Record This video... I'm choking back the tears of Joy While I'm typing This 🥹... THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH!!! ⭐💜⭐
I’m not a candidate for the surgery, but I’m happy to see you looking healthy and happy. 👏👏👏
My I ask what makes you not a candidate for surgery please?
Tiffany Nicole maybe I phrased that poorly. I have no need for that or any surgery.
@@susanpeterson9947 Ahhh I see! I was wondering if you had going on what I do or something different but I get you now. Thanks!
Thank u for doing this video. I was just diagnosed. My mom & 3 aunts had a history of Fibroids. I was told only African American women are more prone. However, we are of Taino descent, and discovered brown skin women actually. Anyway, I'm doing step 1 on Tuesday & schedule for double surgery, also doing a hysterectomy. My first surgery in 43 years. I'm so nervous & scared. Thank u for this video, very helpful.
Thank you so much for making this video. I literally have surgery next week 12/30 and prior to watching your video I was so nervous. Your symptoms mirror my own. I am so exhausted with the cramps, bleeding and low energy and the buldging belly lol. I do not know why you made this video being that you are an organizer, but I'd like to think God placed on your heart just so I would see it. Your video was through and honest. Thank you so much! Many blessings to you and Happy Holidays♥️🙏🏾🥰
Thank you so much for this video. I am in the process of making my decision on surgeries and I really wanted a personal testimony.
Thank you for an awesome video. I'm a nurse and kudos for explaining this in such a great way. Your background has served you well.
Thank you!
I had an open myomectomy 4 years ago. My first post surgical period was hard but afterwards the rest eased up considerably. Will share your video with others. Continued good healing to you!
It's good to hear your surgery went well, and you're healing! The incision in the belly button is the worst! I had gall bladder surgery late January, and they needed to remove my gall bladder through my belly button, gah! It takes time to heal 😒. I was the biggest wimp and baby, lol!
Stories like this are getting me through the time before my surgery and give me hope for my life when it’s done. ❤
This is so similar to my experience.
I’m scheduled for my surgery 12/29 and I am so scared, so thank you for this video. I really appreciate it.
Just had mines 2 days ago, I watched this video over and over again. I was so scared my BP was high, we couldn’t start on time. All in all I’m glad I did it
I had mine on 12/1/20 and glad I did. My doctor removed 21 fibroids
@@vickieo how did you feel after surgery?
@@cocoteedee I don’t recall much, I remember saying I needed to use the restroom but the nurse said it’s all in my head. The 1st pee was terribly painfully but other than that I felt great with the drugs... haha
I’m scheduled for 12/15 I can comment again..
You have a very pleasant & soothing voice. Thank you for sharing your story, it helped me alot :)
Girl I totally understand all of this.. I’m a DES daughter so I have had problems since I was little.. they took the drug off the market the year I was born. 1970.. it was a drug to help my mom carry her babies full term but they found out there were side effects for the babies born. Yay!! But that’s a struggle now with balancing my TSH.. oh well I’m blessed & I’m good!! So glad you got through this and you are doing good!! 😘❤️
What is TSH
No kids yet but I’m holding out hope that I can get this procedure and safely have one or two one day 😊
Update: I had my surgery with the specialist this last November and it was a success! He removed over 30 fibroids 😱 when the previous surgeons only felt confident removing a few so the remaining fibroids always grew and caused problems later on. Almost 9 months post and so far so good! No babies yet but I shouldn’t have any problems carrying
Am final a mother today , because of fibroids my tubes was block for 6years I and my husband was having issue because of my situation no child when I was Searching online on TH-cam about fibroids I saw a testimony about him so I write him and place order for his herbal today I have 2weeks old baby now he can help you too Herb's work like magic.
I had my first myomectomy at 27 now needing another or UFE still debating on which surgery to do. I hate having multiple surgery 😫 this time I'm just going to go ahead and try for baby cuz next time idk what I'll have as options 😕 maybe check to see if you can qualify for UFE.
Please check your diet ladies. The surgery is not a cure. If you continue to eat the wrong foods, you will always have fibroids.
😊û
How did things work out for you eventually?
So glad I came across this video 😊
I have had fibroids since 2021. They were a lot of them but they were small. Fast forward to 2022, they grew large and my abdomen got big as well to the point to where people would ask me if I was pregnant 🤦🏾♀️
It was so embarrassing!!
Before I had fibroids, I used to wear Always pads but since I had fibroids, I wear at least 2 depends a day 😳
When my doctor told me my iron level was a 5, he told me I had to have a blood transfusion. One of the fibroids is underneath my rib cage 🩻 and pushing on my liver so yeah… I’m nervous but I I’m glad I came across your video. 😊
I wish you a COMPLETE healing Kay....I am glad that the surgery went well...TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF!!!!
LOL! Clover is such a sleeping lump in every video 🤣🤣

The surgery went well and I felt great after recovering.
i am watching this a year later; and will have mine in 2 weeks! i have all the symptoms you have mentioned. had to use iron, which made my nauseous for weeks, suffering from extreme back pain, and having dreadful heavy periods; is just poor quality of life too.. surgery itself doesn’t scare me but recovery part i hope it will be easier too🙏🏻 thanks for sharing and spreading this since almost 1 in every 3 woman is going through fibroids and obviously there is no research done to prevent it! enjoy your clean periods and hope you’ll never get back again!
Had my ultrasound this morning, i am scheduled for surgery, your video has defiantly helped me feel at ease..
All the best to you. I still have to see a physician to talk about my fibroids and removal. I just find out a week ago and I'm nervous.
Thanks for posting this. It was super helpful as I was preparing for my surgery last week.
God bless you I just had my histerictomic on the 14 of February.. wish you the best..

Glad I stumbled across this video. My surgery to get my fibroids removed is in a week in a half. So thank you so much for sharing.🙏🏼
How are you doing? How was your recovery? ❤️
But at least now I don't have to deal with all the pain I used to go thru when I had the fibroids

Thank you so much for this video, I am scheduled next week, I am freaking out, crying and so much nervous. I don’t really like surgeries so this would be the third one after my 2 c-sections. Thank you again you really calmed me down. Please guys keep me in your prayers 🙏
Hope that you had a successful surgery. 🤞
So glad you're feeling better & healing nicely! 💓🌻
I've had polyps & fibroids removed about 4 times, just quickly each time at the office visit. 😊✨
Your video gave great information & advice! ⭐👍🏻
How did it go?
So glad to find your video. I just came from a Doctor's visit on Friday and learned that I have one 9cm fibroid and 4 small ones. I'm working on having myomectomy surgery soon and I'm SO ready to get rid of these nagging nightmares. 😫😔My mom and grandma also had fibroids which lead to hysterectomies.

All will be well dear!
@@TheOrganizedSoprano okay, thank you for sharing!

Oof! Having a cough would be my least favorite way to heal! I’m so sorry! Hope you are feeling better now!
Thank for posting this video, you really helped me calm down before my surgery.
