You saved your ass on that one. Lol The last 3 Twinkies I purchased I did the hydro conversion first thing and replaced that crap Ina bearing. Love the vids... Keep them coming.
the red handled tool is to get tension off the tensioner so you can pin it the other tool is for removing tensioner off cam plate that way you don't have to remove cams
Did the Fueling plate, pump, and 525 cams on my 03 fatboy and absolutely love it. Pulls strong and no need to downshift on some of the bigger hills around me. If ya end up doin the cams, I highly recommend em 👌
I had 58,000 miles on my 03 Softail and I did the hydraulic tensioner upgrade the day before labor day and the hardest part of the job was taking off the fuel tank.
Thanks for mention about reliability. Most guys I ride with over the years, just look at power, more power. Best to consider both power upgrades and reliability. It really sucks on long rides with some having issues and breakdowns. The other aspect is gas mileage for those that are doing multi-day rides in groups. It sucks being that guy that has to stop for gas early.
I bought a 2003 Dyna Wide Glide TC88 in 2023 in the US at auction with 3826 miles. I checked the mileage when buying history, it is true and shows 3 owners. My question is, with this mileage and year, should I be concerned about the tensioner or oil seal wearing out or losing its properties?
Not sure what kind of bagger you are looking for but I have a 2018 Roadglide with the 107. Have 62000 miles on my bike with no problems. Currently heading to the Road Glide rally in St. George Utah from Charlotte NC. Have had a bunch of bikes over the years and the Road Glide is one of the best.
I’d love to get an 07 or 08 street glide. The frames are a little more narrow and you get a 96” you can swap out with a 103. Or if I bought an M8 platform, is probably go Street Glide because the newer street glides look great with a big ‘ol Baja Design LP6 headlight
I’m at 60-61k on my ‘04 lowrider. Wanna come to VA to for a quick job. lol. To my knowledge, it’s never been cracked into and listening to you. Sounds like it’s just a matter of time that should’ve already passed.
When I did mine I didn't have to remove the cams or the oil pump at all. It was really easy. In fact I didn't even use any special tools to do it.

Yeah that was a fine line between “lucky” and “I know my bike” 😂😂😂

👊🏻✊🏻 absolutely! For me, it’s not a race on how fast I can get there (even though I’m usually speeding 🤣) but it’s about how far I can go
This guy seems to be running in the more problems then I ever do
yeah, there's not many problems for you to run in to when you get the upgrade and have a pro put it on.

Just changed mine in May. 02' FXSTDI With 15,000 miles. Used tensioners from Amazon. Tigers gate manufacturing.

If you use the inner cam tool correctly you do not have to press the cams out.
Buy a lottery ticket! You are one lucky guy!
I get the upgrade and have a pro put it in not worth the headaches going through

Yeah you better get yours done ASAP. Your on borrowed time.
😂😂😂 you pay the way and cover my wages and I’m always up for a road trip! But I think a local shop might be a little cheaper than that 😂
You were definitely due 😅.
While you were in there you should changed out your lifters....Thats another thing that starts to go bad on a 50K mile TC...
I replaced the lifters when I opened it up originally to inspect them.
@@GilstrapGarage👍....Did you ever make to Sturgis?....I saw your last video when you got into your Primary...
