@@scaryifliteral Hehe, what did you expect - you called their new 2000$ "baby" hideous 😱😜 The looks is kinda growing on me, the first time I saw the leaks my thought was "This can't be true, this thing is so _hideous_ ..." Now I could imagine running around with one, although it's not winning any design competition in my mind :) But what deters me from buying is the form factor: I don't understand why every manufacturer keeps doing tall phones instead of wide. Reading and typing is so much easier on a wide phone, and it doesn't disturb you in your pocket so much - with a tall phone, you sometimes can't raise your leg fully, because the phone sticks into your waist... 🤷🏼♂️ Vertical space is not really important, you just scroll. The horizontal space is what counts (at least for me).
For me it looks much better than the original fold and it's a beautiful phone. Plus, I believe that the leather skin that you added made the phone uglier.

My biggest gripe, the bezel ..YES!!! I'm not sure why it bothered me so much as well but the size of the front of the phone to screen ratio it felt like a missed opportunity for making the bezels lesser
Doesn't matter the Tensor processors will get close but not surpass snapdragon for at least 3 generations. Regardless, no amount of hardware advancement will make them preferable, when they impose a lockdown of their biased search bar widget & "At a Glance" widget. Add to that, is their abandonment of multitasking beyond two apps. The maker of Android has not addressed what a foldable can do, but instead focused on AI for dummies. Give them phone slab owners pretty photo image tricks. They also abandoned their Android desktop, with no answer to Samsung Dex. These are Google's real issues, not their phone's hardware.
I think the Pixel 9 Pro Fold is a great looking device. I think the camera bump looks much more refined than the huge circular bulge on the OnePlus or Honor offerings. Overall, I prefer the 9 Pro Fold's aesthetics.
@@TheRealMrMoonlight I didn't think the camera bump is the issue. The cover screen with the extra wide.. Thing.. On the left, makes it look off balance. Looks like it started growing wings. 🤷🏼♂️
This is all sidetrack issues to not see the real problem. It's not the look. It's actually the user interface having two widgets that cannot be moved, and then having 0 ability of three apps. Multitasking beyond two apps is not working, plus dual streaming videos doesn't work, and if you take a screenshot while you're playing a video it will stop... Also trim a video and you will notice the new G4 processor takes longer than other phones with last year's 8gen2 processor. These are things that could have been addressed by Google a year ago and they are not doing it. They just focused on AI for dummies using slab phones. Nothing for smarter or power users. They are the maker of Android, and they don't even have a desktop replacement for DEX.
Kinda found this channel by accident when searching any info about this specific phone. Biggest problem for people seem to be the visual look of the phone but I vibe with it. It’s a fresh look when I’ve been running iPhones past 10 years and iPhones look like ass but work well. If Pixel 9 fold keeps working well with people and inner screen doesn’t cock up, I will order my first ever pixel phone. Great videos dude! Keep them running.

Have such hard time deciding between the pixel 9 pro fold and the Galaxy fold 6. I love the pixel software experience, but I think the Samsung much more powerful, but I hate the bloat and the skinny front screen. Hate decisions
I personally really love the look and feel of the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. It has an iPhone-like look and feel which is probably what appeals to me as a long-time iPhone user.
Myself I had to buy the pixel fold off eBay as it was not available in Canada Now with the new food I have to agree with you. I totally prefer the first pixel fold over the new one Love your channel man
Seeing some issues on the subreddit. Micro cracks under screen, bad mura on outer display, laggy gaming performance(isn’t a gaming phone so that one is kind of expected for me) and then just overall not being as smooth navigating the phone as some other folds out right now. There were a couple more I can’t think of off the top of my head.
I honestly love the look and think the hinge protrusion gives it a nice look - especially on the front of the Porcelain version. I have the Obsidian version and it's like the protrusion is not even there.
So far I am very disappointed in the lack of additional on-device software features. I know that they are pushing Gemini live and there's some other AI features but nothing else on the software.
Yep. And locking physical memory just for Gemini is ridiculous. We all know Gemini isn't going to be a thing for more than a few years. I was really excited when they announced Pixel phones were finally coming to Nordic Europe but not even going to give it a chance now.
I'm just surprised how basically _every_ reviewer of the original Pixel Fold said how they liked the form factor - and what does Google do? Of course they change the only point that unanimously got compliments... 🤷🏼♂️
Yeah ... That's precisely why i decided to extend my insurance another year and stick with my PF1. if i had to go to the taller slab phone profile, I'd go back to the galaxy z fold line. I loved my z fold 4, it had so many more features than the PF, but the passport form factor seals the deal for me. its why i chose to stay with the surface duo 2 for so long, given its many flaws.

The camera don't bother me, i just don't care how they round the corner on the outer screen with that big chunk of metal showing. I really like how the xiaomi mix fold 4 has rounded the corners on the hinge edge. Looks so nice and premium.
I don't think the camera bump looks good either. It's so strange they took the Pixel 4's bump and made it worse. Also, seriously, why didn't they just stick with the camera module look the other Pixel 9 phones have?

I would give up the few millimeters extra of the internal screen to get rid of that awful, unsymetrical bezel on the outside. I haven't seen anything from the Pro Fold that would make me move off of my OnePlus open, but even if I did, I dont' think I could live with that outside screen look.

I know this is an unpopular opinion but i actually quite like the camera bump. Because it crosses the midline it doesnt really rock or wobble on a flat surface. Its big for sure, but it definitely looks more "Google" to me than even the gen 1 fold camera bar.
Yeah, it's actually my favourite camera bump on current gen foldable. I had a Z Fold 3 & 5 and HATED the cameras on that. the bump stays out of the way of my hand when I'm actually using the thing. S-tier. I agree with the side bezel on the front being ugly, especially compared to the OP Open, but I much prefer the actual use experience over the Z Fold 5 & 6 (never used an OP O)
@@aidanleenstra1605I'm glad at least someone agrees with me! I can't disagree about the hinge/bezel, but I vastly prefer this normal phone outside screen form factor to either the z fold or even the Gen 1 pixel fold if I'm being honest so it doesn't actually end up being a huge deal to me.
Hey Shane, thanks for the video. I will say that I'm oddly excited about this new fold. I did like my pixel fold but this new one is lighter. It feels better and I'm enjoying it so far. I did get a whole day worth of use finishing off my day after 15 hours of having this thing unplugged with over 50% battery life left. That never used to happen with the original pixel fold. I hope everybody enjoys their new pixel fold.
I cannot agree more, giving up on the 'Passport format' is such a step back. Reminded me of the Surface Duo (that I miss a lot). The one handed mode makes it or break it. I am sticking to the Pixel Fold (original) just for this reason.
I love how the phone looks and the bezel can be hidden with a case. Also, coming from an S22 Ultra that is a 6.8in screen, I'm adjusting to small this front screen is. I love it.
The Fold department has not been addressed with any such updates to their weak UI. Only their regular slabs getting any attention. If you need more, look to Samsung or better yet OnePlus Open
Thanks Shane. I watched the video on my Pixel 9 Pro Fold, which I received yesterday. I absolutely love it. It does feel like I'm holding a flagship size phone. Your comments about one handed use sound fair. I always type with 2 thumbs, going back to BBOS days so, it is not relevant to me. I really like the look when closed at all. In fact, when I opened the package, my better half said right away, I want one. As you said, the pics are surprisingly good. They're far better than I expected. I shared pics of one of our cats with other Pixel owners and the response was that the original looked very good. The version after I used zoom enhance was stunning. I appreciate your videos and coverage of the world of Pixels and competitors.
2:08 The protruding hinge frame on the edge of the Pixel 9 Pro foldable is not a massive problem but its absence can polish things up for a more cosmetic look. If the typical customers has nothing to compare the Pixel fold protruding edge, it wouldn't be a problem to them. But the minute the customers is shown a comparison with one like the Honor Magic foldable they'll be instantly jealous. Now you've open their minds to a more cosmetically pleasing external screen. So the bezel itself is not the problem it is the presence of the hinge that stands out (conspicuously). 2:56 The Z fold 6 outer display wins first place, then OnePlus, and third is the Pixel 9 Pro foldable, for the more symmetrical bezels and a non-existing hinge. 5:02 A one handed mode would be very handy and convenient for many people.
Hey Shane, just want to say i follow alot of channels on youtube, ive recently gotten way into folding phones, and discovered your channel. And wanted to say your my fave channel. Unlike many other channels that just read spec sheets of products, you actually give good personal and insightful opinions. Just wanted to say keep up the good work and thanks for the content
As an iPhone user, but someone who is fascinated by the foldables particularly book style, I have been finding my pixel 9 Pro fold quite laggy in some apps for example Evernote. I recognise that it might not be the phone or the processor. It might be the Android version of the app. I am also trying to get used to Android but have find the pixel much more user friendly than Samsung's. So far I am impressed with this pixel fold but I am debating my use case as I continue with my main daily driver as an iPhone. But loving the form factor of the foldable for content consumption and large screen.
My next phone will definitely be a foldable, i think i'm gonna hold off on the Fold 9 and wait to see what One Plus and Samsung does wit their next devices
Would you still recommend OP Open, is it worth getting? I don't chase trends nor the latest phones but looking for a foldable right now. Magic V3 is a bit pricey for me.
@@scaryifliteral it's 1300€ (900€ if I trade my s23 ultra) over here. The new pixel fold is the same price currently as well. But not really liking the pixel at all. Not sure what to do.
I bought the phone and I really love everything about it. It's not heavy, I love the ai features. It looks good to me and I can't wait for more cases to come out.
I got it with Trade in around $1k. It is worth it in my oppinion, the phablet is great for a travel Tablet in between. Can't see the crease warching shows, playing games, or reading. With a case on It looks good in my oppinion and it has up to 3 running apps at once which is cool. I liked the look better than the Samsung Fold and got $300 more in trade in for the google Pro 9 fold($1000 trade in value). I still think the Pixel Fold looks better than the Samsung fold.
Ah i just got mine... Question... Is the Samsung Z fold 6 the only phone that you can have different inner display apps than the outer display? Meaning The apps on the outer display are not in the same spot when you open up the phone or actually on this pixel fold there in the same spots on the inner display is the outer display but the z fold 6. Lets you put them a different locations?
Happy you talked about temperature. I had to return the galaxy s24 because it was to warm for me. I am thinking of getting iPhone 16 because it has vapour chamber.
I almost returned mine today. Adding a case turns it into a massive brick. Plus the front screen is so much smaller than my 8 Pro XL. Plus I'm not a fan of how TH-cam is formatted; it places the comment section to the right in about a inch and a half space (super narrow). I like the bigger unfolded screen, but im not sure it's worth the flaws
The old phone is shorter and wider. This is why the side bezel is less noticeable. The new phone being narrower draws the eyes to all things vertical, including that unsightly bezel..
You got the Pixel Watch 3 ordered? What size did you choose? I'm around the little below 16 cm wrist gang and felt tempted by the 45 but honestly i think it will be too big. If you follow any watch guide it is definitely too big. But the bigger screen and especially battery is tempting. Although funny enough Google shows the same battery life for both models. What are the wrist sizes out there? What size are you opting for?
1:15 complete agree about that camera bump. The horizontal centering meant SO MUCH. And I agree about the side chonk too. I feel like the front screen bezel may have even been acceptable if there wasn't just that side chonk. Letting that screen widen into the unused left space would have at least gotten us closer to symmetry.
PLEASE HELP ... Does the new phone still have this ridiculous flaw... When in widescreen orientation ( positioned for video viewing in widecreen) can the phone be rotated so the power plug is not on the bottom?.... On the original pixel fold the power is on the bottom when in widescreen mode. So instead of being able to just lean it against something and watch a movie, you now have to figure out how to accommodate a cord sticking out of the bottom... And irritatingly stupid engineering miss..my previous three Z Folds DID NOT have this issue
Design isn’t bothering me…..the design issue that just makes my head explode is that they’ve placed the Google logo on the back and haven’t centred it in the wireless charging coils. Placing a stick on magnetic ring has to be placed in a bizarre position and I’ve seen that some case manufacturers have been caught out with the placement.
I disagree about the looks. I think it's just fine! The camera bump and bezzles don't bother me at all. The only thing I'm disappointed with so far is that Gmail doesn't open with the tablet layout. I also love the hinge. And I think there's a significant improvement in the crease.
That thick bezel on the outer display on that one sized I appreciate. Hoping case makers utilize that for better adhesive for that side. I went though SOOO many cases on my Z Fold 4 because the cases were so thin and I kept breaking them
I'm happy to report that i consider thermals good. Today i was on a parking lot inside my car plugged in to android auto, in a zoom meeting with the screen open at max brightness. And the phone was maybe slightly warm. Yes i had the AC on but ive had other phones including iphone that overheats only playing musing while connected to the car. So far not bad
Hey, Shane. I have a theory and since you're experienced and have the devices, please ponder on it and share your thoughts if you find something interesting. Maybe the reason for the designs of the Pixel 9, Pro and Pro 9 XL is because this design was needed for the Pro 9 Fold (hinge and folded form). Then and only then it made sense that all 9 series have the same frame design to keep all of the series' cohesive. Thanks.
It's so odd that gmail *still* doesn't go into "tablet" mode on unfolded devices. It's been like that forever and in personal experience at least 2 years since I first got my ZF4
I don't think it's ugly at all. And the bezel on the hinge doesn't bother me because it helps give me a bigger inner screen. And the camera bump is actually pretty convenient for my finger to grip on the extra weight. Not to mention I'm definitely not going to an 2k dollar phone without a case. And coming from a pixel 7 pro reachability on the outer screen is totally fine cuz it's still smaller then the 9xl
They made totally illogical decisions with their design. It was as if they were sabotaged with rediculous design parameters. They could have centered the screen. They could have kept their own camera bump, instead of choosing ancient iPhone square design. They should have NOT kept those cheap glossy plastic bezels on inside main screen. Just rediculous choices at odds with common sense!
Has anyone else noticed that the two halves of the inner display touch when closed? Every time I open the device I have a spot on both sides that reminds me of a Rorschach test
Those dual pane Google app updates had better be available soon on other portrait foldables. It would be complete BS if Google kept that to the Pixel 9 Fold only. TH-cam and TH-cam Music are paid services - I should get the proper UI on my Fold 5 just as the P9 Fold does.
It sounds crazy but I prefer the original Pixel Fold design. It was one of the highlights of the device, on top of a folding phone finally having PixelOS and a Pixel camera. Now there is less of a reason for me personally to get this device. Glad I was not impulsive this time and pre-ordered this one at launch. Happy with the Fold6, OG Pixel Fold and Vivo X Fold3 Pro. Thanks for the video, Shane.
I love the OG pixel fold. Best design ever. But due to the weight, I sold it. I got the Z Fold 6 and couldnt be happier. Im not a fan of the new pixel fold.
To me the most annoying thing so far is the phone app. You can't slide to see all the incoming calls all I get is half cut with... Followed by it. When closed it's a regular phone app when you open it. It's split in half but you can't really see all the phone numbers.
I have the exact same feeling about the bezels. The OG Pixel Fold design creates a separation between the front panel and the hinge area, which makes it less noticeable. It was a bad decision to integrate the hinge part into the front frame. It makes it look huge and even more asymmetrical. Compared to the OPO, it’s a complete disaster.
Regarding the camera bump on the left side, I remember a Google official explaining this is to counterbalance the weight of the hinge on the right. Makes sense to me. Shane, does it feel well balanced in your hand?
Listen it looks way better than my OnePlus camera back and fold 6 for damn sure. The front bezel is bad but not worst than original Pixel was so bad and ugly Google had change it. Now my two biggest gripes are the charging is abysmal and there's no 1tb options. The camera and videos are serviceable but should be way better for damn near 2k! I love it!
Craig... Admit it... You are still in love with the physical side of the Surface duo... I mean people bang on about how thin the honor magic v2 /v3 is... But the surface duo did that years ago... If only ONLY Microsoft would make a dual screen with a front screen... Imagine even a duo with a Motorola razr 50 plus screen on the front.... And modern processors.... Wow... #makeithappenmicrosoft.. 😎😎😎
I have noticed some weird behavior when opening and closing the phone fast the cover screen seems to be stuck on the inner display size, also when I put a magsafe accessory on the back the phone turns off and turns back and the cover screen displays the main display on the front on as if the phone is sensing for the magnet to switch the display between the front and the inside one
I *hate* the proportions of the original Pixel Fold. That's what kept me from jumping ship from Samsung foldables last year. That and the science project build quality. I can't wait for my 9 Pro Fold to arrive.
I've had the Pold 9 for 36 hours...and I have decided to put my SIM back in the Pold. I'm returning the Pold 9. I think the Pold 9 looks immaculate, but the width, or lack there of width on the Pold 9 bothers me too much--it makes me think of it as the fatter brother of the Z Fold 6. In this case, this year, neither of Samsung's or Google's foldables have wide enough a screen for me. The weight of both devices is similar to me due to the height of the Pold 9. I also carry an iPhone 14 Pro, and the Pold 9 is taller than that device as well. All this to say, I'm returning the Pold 9. Google, in my opinion has created an awesome 2nd generation of their foldable, but the form factor of the Pold, for now, wins my heart over. Till next year, Google...
I was taken aback by the bezels at first as well. But after seeing how great the phone is, I seemed to have tricked myself into thinking it's not ugly anymore 😂 Not to play devil's advocate here, but my fat fingers might need them bezels
Google has done a great job with the rigidity of the hinge and it's ability to make the unfolding function to be absolutely flat. The tablet mode need to be the default function for all apps, Gmail need to get that tablet mode function. 😎💯💪🏾👍🏾
The one app that I wish did not use tablet mode is TH-cam. It seems that the width of this phone is right on the edge of enabling that tablet mode which leaves the comments on the right side to be super narrow. Also I enjoyed on my OPO scrolling comments on the bottom while viewing the video full screen on the top. It feels like wasted space on this phone. Tablet mode with TH-cam makes a lot more sense in landscape. The bezels and overall appearance of the cover display will likely lead to me returning this device. The OPO feels so much further ahead in terms of PPI, bezels and crease. I am constantly noticing the individual pixels on the inner display… maybe I hold it too close to my face lol but never an issue with OPO.
I found the tablet mode on Gmail is available not only in horizontal view. I've found this on other apps as well. Kinda annoying that can't have the "tablet" experience in both orientations
I like the aesthetics of the new phone the bezzle makes it unique. I dont know, to me it reminds me of a PDA. Then you open it and the screen is beautiful. I dont mind the double pill camera bump. Id rather that than to have 4 cameras in a rowacross the back of the phone. Now it was nice for the pixel fold to be shorter before. That was really a plus fpr a lot of people with finger reach problems.
Dude, I'm doing that look back meme right now with the Pixel 9 pro fold looking at me in disgust as I check out the Honor Magic v3 that just walked by. It's better in every way, and cheaper! And it actually has band 71 support for T-Mobile 600mz 5g. It's $300 cheaper than the 9 pro fold... It's better in every way.
That screen crease is a deal breaker for me. Maybe I am too OCD, but I could not use a screen that has a crease in it. It would drive me crazy having everything warped. Until they figure out a way to 100% eliminate that, I'll never own a foldable.
If phones are going to fold for me they need to flip. I have had a Samsung Flip 3, 4 and now on the 6. In Between I had the original Pixel Fold which I really liked but the true benefits of a folding phone are to have a phone that fits in your pocket. I have a Pixel tablet for when I want a larger screen. Still waiting for the Pixel Flip.
That's a tough question. I prefer the pixels software and general user experience as well as the extra width of the internal screen. OnePlus definitely takes charging speed and overall appearance/form factor.

Doesn't matter the Tensor processors will get close but not surpass snapdragon for at least 3 generations.
Regardless, no amount of hardware advancement will make them preferable, when they impose a lockdown of their biased search bar widget & "At a Glance" widget.

It's not the look only it's also the user interface having two widgets that cannot be moved and then having 0 ability of three apps multitasking beyond two apps is not working plus dual streaming videos doesn't work and if you take a screenshot while you're playing a video it will stop also trim a video and you will notice it takes longer then phones with last year's processor.

Myself
I had to buy the pixel fold off eBay as it was not available in Canada
Now with the new food I have to agree with you.
I totally prefer the first pixel fold over the new one
Love your channel man
Seeing some issues on the subreddit. Micro cracks under screen, bad mura on outer display, laggy gaming performance(isn’t a gaming phone so that one is kind of expected for me) and then just overall not being as smooth navigating the phone as some other folds out right now. There were a couple more I can’t think of off the top of my head.
Ya but generally people who are happy with no issues don't post
The camera bump isn't a big deal to me. The hinge protrusion is the nail in the coffin. I don't think any of the newer folding phones have it.
It is inexcusable for the maker of Android to have such a limited user interface
@@velocity211Google design team has been infiltrated by Samsung knights to sabotaged their design with f00l1sh ideas of same cheap plastic glossy bezels and deformed outer bezel, instead of a wider or centered front screen. Even made the mistake of copying outdated square iPhone camera bump.. really sad sabotage.
Meanwhile they didn't address anything to make it competitive against the year old OnePlus Open.

Good thing you are not one of google designer coz your taste is awful 😂😂😂

Hey Shane, Love what u do.
I'm in Lexington, KY.
A Google rep told AT&T employees AT&T would not be getting the Pixel 9 Fold.
It's a "lockdown" of pressure by Samsung monopoly to keep only zfolds on the US market.
I can confirm. I went to the store and they said there was some issues and they won't have the phone or any of the products
What I said the moment I saw the bump was that it's weird, but some will love it, and the rest of us will get used to it in a few months 😂
@@erickbarnard520agree
It absolutely wobbles when it's unfolded.
I love it.
Can you enable "desktop mode" on the video output like you can on the Pixel 9 Pro? Maybe make a video or a Short showing this?
The Fold department has not been addressed with any such updates to their weak UI. Only their regular slabs getting any attention.
If you need more, look to Samsung or better yet OnePlus Open
Hope Google goes back to the original form factor for the 10 pro fold. The original pixel fold's form factor was perfect.
Google phones are all exHTC developers and designers, great seeing them still around
I also love how the phone looks. Modern. Way better than the OnePlus Open's camera bump or Honor's Magic V3's camera bump.
Love the way it looks and feels in my hand. Very happy with this device
I think they did the front bezels that way for future pixel folds. They can upgrade that next year.
Thanks!
I love how the new front looks, but TOTALLY 100% understand how it's hit or miss. But totally agree on the resolution for the front.
I like the looks a lot. The left bezel has something friendly about it. It reminds me of a small booklet. It's sort of cute.
The thumbnail... How the fuck are phones selling with these massive bezels and be over $1K
My next phone will definitely be a foldable, i think i'm gonna hold off on the Fold 9 and wait to see what One Plus and Samsung does wit their next devices
Love your honest take on projects. I’m wondering about getting out of my oneplus open and into the pixel so I’m excited for the full review.
Would you still recommend OP Open, is it worth getting? I don't chase trends nor the latest phones but looking for a foldable right now. Magic V3 is a bit pricey for me.
For the right price, absolutely
@@scaryifliteral it's 1300€ (900€ if I trade my s23 ultra) over here. The new pixel fold is the same price currently as well. But not really liking the pixel at all. Not sure what to do.
Making a round screen vs squared off just will look better because no matter what the hinge part has to be squared off
I bought the phone and I really love everything about it. It's not heavy, I love the ai features. It looks good to me and I can't wait for more cases to come out.
Great freakin review dawg. Really considering getting this over the XL pro
Great review, had a closeup look...planning to go for z fold 6 itself.
Dude this phone design looks so good, you probably on your own on this one
The old phone is shorter and wider. This is why the side bezel is less noticeable. The new phone being narrower draws the eyes to all things vertical, including that unsightly bezel..
You got the Pixel Watch 3 ordered? What size did you choose? I'm around the little below 16 cm wrist gang and felt tempted by the 45 but honestly i think it will be too big. If you follow any watch guide it is definitely too big. But the bigger screen and especially battery is tempting. Although funny enough Google shows the same battery life for both models. What are the wrist sizes out there? What size are you opting for?
I like the new camera bump I'm coming from one plus open so it's better to me
I personally really dislike how you can easily peel of the plastic border on the big screen starting from the hinge. What do you think about that?
I agree. The bezels are just thick. I’d almost rather have the slightly thicker top bottom bezels on the OnePlus open at this point
Im not a fan of the original pixel fold because i am a bezel hawk but i think passport should be the way to go over hot dog fold.
Talking about hinges. Played around with my Duo yesterday after a year in a drawer, and damn that hinge is still king.
The passport size was superior. They should've stuck with that motif.
I'm so torn between the open and the 9 pro fold. They are so close to each other in so many ways but also so different in some
It sounds crazy but I prefer the original Pixel Fold design.
Ok Shane the new pixel fold or Samsung fold?
The overall form factor is nice but the front cover makes it look more like a Pixel 8a. Doesn't look very "Pro"
I agree that the camera bump/mountain should have been shifted more towards the middle so when on a table it doesnt wobble
The camera should just go across the entire phone and just have hollow space on the last quarter of the device just to make it look uniform
Cases will make it look way better, though.
What's rediculous is that Google has not addressed anything to compete against the OnePlus Open. It's a year old, and still better.
Regarding the camera bump on the left side, I remember a Google official explaining this is to counterbalance the weight of the hinge on the right. Makes sense to me. Shane, does it feel well balanced in your hand?
There's certainly some logic to that. While it does feel top heavy, it is fairly well balanced and the other direction.
The phone gives off a 3ds xl vibe and I’m all for it
The case I have makes it look much better, but I have to agree. The new one looks like two steps back, in design.
Honestly i really like the design of the p9pf. It may just be the matte black but it just looks a lot more sleek to me.
Pold?
@@briansanchez5210 Pixel + Fold = Pold
You think the Google 9 pro fold will get a crease in the screen over time. What is your take? I think it will get a crease over time
Within a day or so it'll be in line with last year's model
Get a OnePlus Open
If phones are going to fold for me they need to flip. I have had a Samsung Flip 3, 4 and now on the 6. In Between I had the original Pixel Fold which I really liked but the true benefits of a folding phone are to have a phone that fits in your pocket. I have a Pixel tablet for when I want a larger screen. Still waiting for the Pixel Flip.
None of these phone come closer to the productivity and feeling of the Surface Duo
Thanks Shane. Not for me, but love what you do!
So after using it for 24+ hrs , which one you recommend me to buy ? The Pixel 9 Pro Fold or the OnePlus Open ?
That's a tough question. I prefer the pixels software and general user experience as well as the extra width of the internal screen. OnePlus definitely takes charging speed and overall appearance/form factor.
@@scaryifliteral I have the Pixel Fold V1 , is there any progress regarding Multi tasking with the new version Pixel Fold ? Can you make a short review specific regarding Multi tasking please ?

I have the obsidian version and agree it's ugly but it looks so much better with a case on. A case hides the bezel so much
One of my first impressions with the design of the device was that it didn't feel very "Google" to me. Maybe it's due to the lack of unique colors, or maybe the overall shape of the device feels more square. It def doesn't have the personality of the last two Pixels I've owned (the 3 and 6).
