    Thanks for this video! Very informative. And yes Norse women definitely had a chatelaine hanging by chain from their brooches.
    I like that you took your time, but not too much, and included taking shots and showing us your walrus figurine. That’s fun!

    That turned out beautifully. Nalbinding has been on my bucket list to learn for a few years now.

      Thanks Lucky, l was inspired early on by lnuit art. They made everything special because they had so little they could see the beauty in the small things.

    That is a beautiful nål! I would suggest you make the eye larger. When Nålbinding you tend to use thicker wool. I'd like to see you make one from deer antler!

      Thank you Chritena, that’s good information! I’ll have to make the next one out of antler, maybe even caribou ( since I don’t have raindeer).

    Nice one, just like a unicorn/narwhale horn

      Thank you Garou Diaz, it’s funny you would mention narwhal, that was why l was having trouble pronouncing nalbinding. I couldn’t get narwhal out of my head!🤪

      Thank you Janson. The walrus project has been in my mind for several years and Jos Vergauwe has inspired me to do it. It will have a surprise ending.

    What a cool little project 👌and I love the story about its purpose! I'm very interested in the walnut stain🤔 I can't recall you doing a video on it 🤔 I'd love to know how you make it 🙏 keep up the great work ✌️❤️ always look forward to your videos ☺️

      Thanks Dave, the stain is easy to make if you have ether Walnuts or Butternuts around. I collect up a bunch and put them away to dry. Then l knock the dried husks off with a hammer or something. Throw the husks in boiling water and cook them down so it thickens up a bit and it’s ready. I use it for a lot of things.

      You can do it with fresh nuts but make sure you wear gloves cause it will stain your hands and lasts for a long time.

      @@StockmanOriginal so could I use nuts from the store 🤔

    • @StockmanOriginal
      @StockmanOriginal  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, store nuts have the husks already removed. You need to find a tree and collect the nuts from it. Someone must have butternut or walnuts growing. If you can’t find any, l wonder if l could send some?

      @@StockmanOriginal I'm pretty sure I can buy walnuts in the shell here at the local shops 👍I don't know anyone with a walnut tree and I don't know what butternuts are 🤔 I'm guessing we have them but they are called something different here 🤔 thanks for the offer to send some but our border security would freak out and incinerate them if they came on the mail 😜 if you ever come to Australia it's easier to smuggle drugs in than a piece of wood/fruit/ a seed or even dirt on your shoe 🤣

      @@StockmanOriginal Your work is very close to my heart, I work in a lot of the same materials (though not to the same standard) - leather, bone, horn, wood. Camel bone is very good if you can get it, very hard and dense.

    Is that a real skull on the desk?

    • @StockmanOriginal
      @StockmanOriginal  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey robosmasher1, thanks for watching! Yes it’s real, l have had it for quite awhile and use it as a model when I carve skulls. Plus she keeps me company.
