That tour of Lincoln's house was super neat, Love history of our fore father's. I went to Mount Vernon to Washington's house and seen the bed he slept in and eventually passed away in. Thanks HMM that was awesome. 👍
Don, you've visited many a fine and interesting place. But in my judgement, your trip to this house has to be the top of the top. I really enjoyed this video. And if ever this country needed another Abe Lincoln, that time is now. Right now. Again, what a meaningful and emotional video. Great job!
Agree this was a very emotional video. Not just Lincoln but several Generals and soldiers on both sides suffer so much death with their family members. Nobody wants war.
Thanks Chuck. I think I've been inside Lincoln's home more than he was. Could not agree more...please come home Mr. Lincoln...America needs you now more than ever.
Our home near Springfield has that same Newell post and handrail , sure would be nice to know who the carpenter was who made it , I bet he made the one in our house too . Ours is larger though
Now that's super interesting; thanks for sharing your story here. It would be interesting to figure out who the carpenter was...and the inevitable story behind it. Thanks...HMM
You know, that's a good idea on Sherman's home...and I've never been there! Most places do not allow video inside the homes though...I'll check on his. Lincoln's home is a rare exception, especially being a National Park. Garfield's home tour, east of Cleveland, is also a National Park, but allows no photography or video. Thanks again, oldjunkman...HMM
My brother used to live in Bloomington, Ill. About 40 years ago, we visited his family and went to Springfield to see some of the Lincoln sites. Your video brought back some nice memories. You included some details that I either forgot or never heard. As a few others stated, we could use an Abraham Lincoln in our country now. (You always pick some nice music to go with your videos. If I'm not mistaken, I think YT gives you a limited selection from which to pick.)
We need another strong President for the coming civil war again.😢 Some call him the American Cesar some call him the only path to freedom. Either way like Mark Twain said history rymes.
Please come home Mr. Lincoln...America needs you now more than ever. Mark Twain had some genius in him. "Go to heaven for the climate, Hell for the company." Mark Twain

Yeah...music can be challenging. I pick from a very limited supply...thanks. HMM
Wonderful video. Did you get to visit the David Wills House when you stopped in Gettysburg?
It was closed the day I was there...I think closed three days of each week, so bad timing on that. I've been in it before though. I love Gettysburg!
@@HistoryMysteryMan I love it too. I am a member and try to get there several times a year. Always meeting friends for a meal. Sorry it was closed
Gettysburg is so awesome...I could live there!@@mariebeasley1269
@@HistoryMysteryMan oh me too. Always dream to do it and be near the race tracks too
