Treflan! Man, that brings back memories. Yellow memories! We use to put it out right behind the bottom plows and those 4430's would whoop you all day long...Then we hit the fields with the 'ripper hipper' and bed it up. Knock it down with a Du-All and plant skip-row cotton.
Man yeah, I have been waiting for this one!! Ole Smokey and the Bandit quote first thing!!! 😉😉🤣🤣 I know it's not as efficient, and very time consuming.. but seeing the ole school ways in this one were GREAT content, loved it!!! So does that pre-emerge have a lasting stain on tanks etc? Loved seeing the ole gal out doing here thing following row marker tracks😉 Seems the planter did well! Dont worry about repetitive video's, they are always enjoyable and learn something new on each one. Thank you both for bringing us along. Seeing y'all both out there was epic!! I can't wait to see how things are growing soon!! 🌾🌾🌾🇺🇲🇺🇲😁😁👌🏻👌🏻🚜🚜
Treflan/prowl yellow clothing and nurse equipment was once very common everywhere and still is in some crops. People like to tease the old kinze planters but the radial brush meter still works. Keep in the performance envelope for it they make pretty stands.
Just an opinion on an autosteer system that I've had good luck with if its within budget and in the cards. Our agleader steady steer with an InCommand 800 monitor hasn't missed a beat and is pretty easy to move from machine to machine. Enjoy the videos, can't wait to see how the canola turns out!
i GROW canola in Australia , expensive crop to grow, loves N, AND needs insect/grub control here , especially at/after germination, but can make good $$$ returns if yields well, I would have planted it with your drill,....and shallow !! ....good luck :) from, down-under !! cheers
we planded some in 1987 and winter killed most of it hard to seal hopper bottom seed so small a pretty plant in spring wheat much crop that feeling about
Dylan they planted for years and years with row markers, it does make it nice though to look back at your planner instead of just paying attention to your center
anyone got honey bees near by gonna get a bumper crop of honey 😂 but the kicker is you got two weeks after the nectar dries down to get that honey extracted before it crystalizes or you may as well toss it. makes an excellent creamed honey.
@@dustin656 creamed it something you make with honey that will crystallize very easily like canola. you need a starter to add to it or you can make your own starter, the faster its whipped and more air you can incorporate into it during the mixing process the better it is and very creamy and smooth. what all were you wanting to know?
Not sure what the video date is but curious if y’all got any rain from Helene. I’m in south central NC and we’re mud. 4.5”. Your land looks good for working. Hope it works great for y’all.
Is your canola traited ? I have never grown canola. Years ago had some volunteer canola get in a field (co-op had some fertilizer trucked in from Canada?). Up here in ND can be hard to control volunteer canola in soybeans. Still get an odd volunteer years later. Next thing you will be trying sunflowers!
When I saw the France I realized probably not. Last time I cut any I spread it all over the station and it was RR so I did alot of chopping that year.@@DylanJoyceFarms
Used to be canola planted in western KY but the processing plant filed for bankruptcy. It was a new plant. Nobody grows canola anymore. Some said it took lots of fertilizer to grow it and you had to be careful aabout chemicals used on the canola land even in years before growing canola. Hope it works out for you. The yellow flowers are pretty but it doesn't smell good.
Yep, I know very well about the bankruptcy. It affected a couple of farms in our area. From what I can tell on recommendations, it doesn't take any more fertilizer than a high yielding wheat crop. Chemistry such as Select and treflan is the only two that I know you can use on canola.
We are in good shape on moisture. We got 7 inches of rain in September out of the two hurricanes that went through. Now we are showing a long stretch of pretty weather. We lack about 2 days of sowing wheat. Hopefully, start cutting beans on Wednesday and be done with 2024 in about 10 days.
Well my beans are running 74 bu acre and 9 percent moisture with a lot of green stems. Been good so far other than I dropped my cell phone into hopper and they aren't auger resistant so cost me a phone😂
I enjoyed going up there to the Kinze dealer in Clinton. I have always heard about it but never been in until we got those.plates. I hope it does well. I'm tired of having to plant through all the wheat straw every year.
The best part of the video is watching and listening to that 4640 working- ❤ those old John Deere tractors 💚💛
I remember spraying Treflan back in the 70's before we planted soybeans, we always ran the old springtooth harrow after spraying.
Love the opening!!
I'm glad you're back I don't even like watching TH-cam unless I can watch your video

G’job y’all, like the quote from Smokey and the Bandit 👍🏻good luck with the canola trial🇺🇸
Keep on posting!

Yes it does stain if used repetitively. The tank cleaner we use should pull it out no more than we ran.
@DylanJoyceFarms Thank you sir for the info!! 😁😁

Guys, good luck with the Canola. Hopefully it’ll be profitable for Ya.
I’m kinda anxious to see how the canola does.

@@deerefredj5975 we probably get more rain in a month than you do in a year. 1250 mm a year is a normal year here in west Tennessee or west Kentucky

After harvest we are going to need a walk around of the Kinze

Big bad John looking a like a boss out there. What number of kinze is your planter? Ours is a 2600.

Would you tell more abt this? I was reading abt creamed honey at the fair entry but no one in my area does it ive found.

We received 3 inches from Helene and 4 inches from the hurricane before that.

non gmo canola
We've got a Canola trial that we are planting Tuesday. It's going to be fun I'm sure.
No it is not roundup ready.

How much time do you have between when you spray and when the chemical needs to be incorporated?
The label said incorporate within 24 hours, but the sooner you can get it worked in the better.
Looks great guys 👍👍. Is it dry down your way? We got guys around here who are having field fires because it’s so dry.

I’m curious cause I’m not far from you guys (southeast Missouri). Are there a lot of places buying canola now?
Bunge chevron is pushing it. They are opening more receiving points for 25. Its a pilot program they contracted around 50k acres.
Onlyl one that I know of and that is Bungee that we have our contract with,
A dumb question for you will you no till in the canola straw just like you do wheat?
Yes. It is actually much easier to plant into than wheat straw.

We started soybeans today.... I sure hope they get better because the first field was pretty terrible.
when i truck farmed i used a chemical pre emerged i want to say prowel it was yellow and had a bad smell to it
Yep. Prowl is also yellow.
I think it will eventually take wheat acres place I might be wrong the people at Clinton are great to deal with that's in ki neck of the woods
