  • #monorail #4k 4K Video of the World's 3rd largest monorail network. I decided to hop on to the Mumbai Monorail to reach one of my favourite restaurants in the city which serves authentic South Indian food. While on my way I tried to give you a full tour of the zone. The Phase 2 of the Mumbai Monorail was inaugurated in 2019 and it connects Jacob Circle, Parel to Wadala. Phase 1 connected Wadala to Chembur. The 20 km route is India's first monorail system. Its a 4 coach train and the entire 17 station route has been built at a cost of 3000 crore. The MMRDA plans to operate 120 services with 7 trains. I made a vlog about my first time on this unique mode of transport which has been aimed at reducing traffic and connecting distant parts of the city with the primary network of trains, buses and metro. School kids, parents, college boys and girls were primarily eager to experience it, the day it launched. 23,000 traveled on the second day of inauguration, revenue of 4 lakh. I reached the Ambedkar Nagar monorail station near Haffkine institute, at the back side of KEM hospital in Parel in the afternoon. The ticket to Chembur costed me 30 Rs. The security here is quite good, their attire seemed quite similar to the CRPF jawans/soldiers. They were quite helpful in guiding me and instructing other passenger about safety and directions. I boarded the train in and was pleasantly surprised with the interior of the train, it was clean and futuristic. The doors were automatic and the train was full air-conditioned which made it very easy and comfortable to travel in the sweltering heat of Mumbai, it will be of great help to a Mumbiker in the summer season. Now coming to the main part, the scenes and sights of Mumbai! Yes, this was the best part as I got to see Mumbai from point of view that was never seen before for over 25 years of my life! I saw such beautiful and diverse landscapes that for a second I could not believe that this was Mumbai, it really looks so new and different from above. I also saw a great deal of economic disparity, houses of the poor and sky scrapers of the rich. There were beautiful lawns, gardens and golf courses, luxury buildings as well as dumping grounds, industries, truck stations and slums which seemed poles apart from each other but existed in such a unique kind of harmony that it was amazing to see it from such a new perspective. After I crossed Wadala, I suddenly realised that there was so much open land in Mumbai! Acres of land which has not yet been used for housing projects or entertainment purposes. However I think that it is owned by the Reliance group, headed by Mukesh Ambani. If not all, most of it is owned by the petroleum Jio Billionaire who plans to make this one of the best ports in the World in future! As I reached Chembur I was satisfied with my first time experience and sure do hope to visit again soon. Overall I feel India is well on its way to beat China and Japan when it comes to trains and other allied modes of transport. Hope you enjoyed watching the video. monorail rail will make profit once all the metro projects starts functioning also monorail rail should be extended upto ghatkopur metro station via BKC once it gain connectivity with metro and local trains significant improvements it will gain also in future lot of redevelopment of old buildings into tall towers will take place more and more people will settle down in those areas
    it will take another ten years for monorail to turn into profitable entity I would suggest govt to spend another five hundred crores in extension of monorail

      Yes that's exactly what I try to convey to people who are quick to judge this system through short term targets. The monorail system is perfect for tight spaces and requires less area unlike the metros. Therefore the monorail system is here to stay and people will eventually realise that it's a blessing in disguise.

    I heard Mumbai monorail is not comfortable. It shakes a lot. Is it true?

      No,its quite comfortable ,n even AC is cool .

    • @atharvatar
      @atharvatar ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It does shake a bit im a daily commuter and it almost feels like a bus. The same is true for monorails everywhere(no unique to mumbai mono) since they have rubber tires which basically makes them elevated buses.

      Agar usme jaoge to bhari rahegi all the time, har ek cheez paisa kamane ke liye nahi banti lol, jab metro se connectivity hoga automatically ye bahut accha ban jayega aur isko breach candy tak extend kar denge
