Edit: The art in the thumbnail of Happy's video was drawn by Noi. The only edits made were the weird pixilation that implied censorship of the breasts on the character and problem slapped on the face: x.com/BlueMarivn/status/1821699489046135128 Spy was not aware about Noi being in NSFW spaces/showing other minors NSFW when she originally wrote the 100 page doc and added it later when she found out. I’m really impressed how many people can see into the future here. You’ve watched the video before it even premiered and shared it with everyone. Rats, how will I get away with my crimes now.
Society when we realize that “kids can do really shitty things that deeply upset people” and “that doesn’t mean adults should stoop to their level and fight them as if they were adults” can and SHOULD coexist
This right here- The amount of people I've seen, that are in their 20s that act like this, is scarily alarming. This is coming from someone that's in their early 20s rn
The phone thing is a really cute gimmick, but in practice, some of the screenshots are waaaay too small. It's almost impossible to read and even if you're reading them aloud, it feels like we should be able to as well
100%, I think it’s so creative but for the sake of evidence a bit impractical. If it was bigger and took up more of the screen (like a tablet) I think that would be so cute!
which technically we are, but bro... he's 16. when i was 16, i was eating grass (exaggerating to say i was dumb as fuck). it is overly exaggerated and as stated in the video, copying is normal as kids and we kinda need to do it to learn. we start copying our parents so we start to talk and walk. nothing is totally original. and yeah, plagiarism is bad, but this isn't it.
I disagree, children suck (joking), but some kids online are just looking for the nsfw channels just to frame them as Pdf files, which I find stupid since they are putting themselves willingly in that situation
@@ztdtlf9717well children r stupid. But in this specific situation a lot of the things could’ve been prevented if the adults involved didn’t engage with the 16 y.o (i forgot their name)
@@ztdtlf9717 if the kid keeps “screwing with ur mind” then u disengage. Its the adults responsibly to assess the situation and provide the best outcome.
im sorry but if you're in a relationship in which your parents have to actively watch over you to ensure the older person you're dating isn't _grooming_ you, I think that's a sign that there shouldn't be a relationship in the first place. No matter how 'healthy' the relationship is, the fact the adult has to prove they aren't taking advantage of the minor makes the power dynamic INHERENTLY _PREDATORY._
Just a nitpick (I haven’t watch the full thing sorry 😭) the way they call noi “the minor” instead of their name or maybe even “this kid” is so STRANGE to me like,, minor is a legal term if I remember correctly and it feels weird it’s like their treating them like some sort of creature
Couldn’t help but read “the minor” in David Attenborough’s voice *“And here we have the minor, prancing about in its natural habitat”* Like, what was stopping them from saying “child”
Honestly I was a Noi at 14 years old, that is a sign of major issues. It's not Spy's job to babysit someone who is going through something, but it very much is Spy's job as a person with a platform to comprehend what this behaviour could potentially mean and just stay away or warn fellow adults to stay away.
@@adish1401to add onto your point: i hope they eventually grow out of it and/or are in a better space as they get older. I can't speak on whether or not I was this much of a little shit at this age, though. I don't think I was but I don't remember. As an adult: annoying teenagers are indeed irritating to deal with but after having a little back and forth exchange or some verbal jousting and they're still going, just best to move on...not make a friggin doc. Those names gave me flashbacks to back when basically anything Sashley did would garner drama. Pose slightly too similar to another pose? BAD. Character shares one aspect/color with another artist? BAD. Or the hundreds of Sashley tracers and tracers OF the Sashley tracers.
This is INCREDIBLY petty and brings up another thing I see in the art community that's so stupid. Artists get their panties in a twist the second someone does something even remotely similar to their work whether that be a pose or a "similar outfit". A lot of the art is similar in poses and maybe in the style but it's not directly ripping them off. Young artists take a lot of inspo from other artists they like while they're trying to get better and improve, also Spy's work isn't completely original at all. This whole thing is incredibly corny and immature.
@@derpkipper She really is from all my experiences with her. She got pissy when referred to as they and was pretty rude most of the time. @@HappyLikeAwall Watched your video when it came out a while back. I see where you are coming from, heck, you are valid to feel that way! Respectfully. Kids don't get a free pass if they are literally breaking TOS, period. No one does. It's the rules! (By that I mean harrassment + raids + doxxing) When it comes to children, they are still growing and most likely acting on the influences in their environment. What you think is a "free pass" is actually the fact that people want to hold them accountable while also understanding they could be in danger, and are showing those red flags. I hope you improve how you handle things in the future with regards to the safety of others. Adults are arguably 100% allowed to call out minors on their behavior, the issue is, that we need to make sure it's done responsibly, and mindfully in order to ensure we don't accidentally make something worse. It's not your job to parent a random kid, so there is no reason to "teach them a lesson." Block, warn others, and use the many resources you have at your disposal to rid yourself of their presence as much as possible. There are plenty of spaces I was in growing up where kids would try to act out, but were swiftly dealt with through good moderation. That's the thing. It also more effort then we would like, but that's unfortunately just the internet. There are so many methods and resources that prevent raids, for example from happening. From screenshots I've seen, you already have some! Discord bots are great to control raids, and also moderators. I guess what I am saying is that the way we feel is valid, but the actions we take when we are upset are not always valid. I hope you are safe. Thanks, hope you understand!
@@HappyLikeAwall Children don't have a free card. Anyone can do awful things online and accuse others of "carreer" ending stuff. In the same manner, anyone has the right to call out bad behavior and defend themselves. It's not that adults literally can't/aren't supposed to do anything about it when it comes to the actions of minors; stop twisting the message like that. Within the first 6 minutes of the video, Streamline literally says that had it been a small callout, it would've been perfectly fine. Well well well, what do we have here? the real happy? Hmmm I remember watching your videos…what was that one video I saw? Hmmmm…oh yeah. The one where you’re like “what’s up with kids” while adding a clickbait lewd drawing like a TH-cam kids content farmer. Maybe I would have agreed with your points and arguments if you didn’t make your content 16+, cause surprise! surprise! The age of consent may be 16 -18 in other countries but that doesn’t mean the mental state of a 16 year old is able to handle your clickbaity nsfw videos. If you didn’t know, exposure to this stuff even when you are 16 can damage the maturing and growth of your prefrontal cortex, the part of your brain that is responsible for your decision making and cognitive thinking. Might I also add that the exposure of this content can also cause your dopamine receptors to fuck up the distribution of the chemical which can cause kids to be more susceptible to addictions? Since dopamine is the chemical that causes the feelings of satisfaction and motivation? Which is something addicts keep running after? Oh who am I kidding, you are too innocent and saintly to ever do that! You need to be protected! Protect the adults guys! Yeah. Sure. “Preach” I guess. If I had a dollar for every clickbait thumbnail you’ve made I’d have enough to make marketable plushies of you. Not like anyone would actually fund it unless you made your character lewd.
“Whos gonna protect the adults!?” Uh…themselves…?? Also someone being developmentally disabled doesn’t mean they get a pass for being a predator christ
Except that's not how the internet works. If a kid runs into an adult space, unlike real life, unless they stated their age honestly and there's a proper age validation process (which isn't true for many sites and messengers), these kids can go around doing all sorts of crazy shit and then get away with it, while getting the adults in trouble even if they have no idea. And how do you protect against that? Literally the ONLY way is to filter via age, and if they get around that, adulys online can't protect themselves for shit aside banning people when they say they're minors directly or suggest it strongly enough. And Happy's right, where the fk are the parents in this?
I will never understand what the big deal with young artists "copying" more popular artists is. Like dude they are still learning and obviously if your art is what they are taking inspo from they look up to you. Even if they are copying your art style itself who cares? It's unlikely they'll be doing that forever. Studying other people's art styles in a genuine learning technique, people do it with old artists all the time.
Yeah like it's normal as an artist to see a piece of art and be inspired by it and want to incorporate a specific aspect of it into your own art, consciously or subconsciously. It's just that as you grow, you learn how to draw inspiration from sources in a way that is more original and doesn't look like a copy of the thing that inspired you. Young artists are only just developing that skill and aren't as good at drawing inspiration from enough different sources and putting in enough unique ideas to make the art original. What they need is space to be allowed to train their skills and maybe some guidance by a more experienced artist, not a fucking callout post.
The Sashley Drama is part of what made it difficult for me to draw as often as I wanted to as a kid. I now still struggle to get up and draw because I'm scared, and people like Spy feeding into this mess of a "callout trend" is 100% wrong. It also continues to distract from more serious issues, like children being put in unsafe situations in favor of petty drama.
wait until Spy finds out about BrujoAri, whose fanbase loves his art style and imitate it to an extent (and why wouldn't they be? It looks really good!)
"The next people who create a 'they stole my art style' situation will be dragged into my basement and be forced to listen to megalovania untill their ears bleed" Yo, can I help you with that? /j
What’s with artist suddenly being overly protective of their art? It’s fine to not want people to trace or copy you, but getting angry at people being INSPIRED by your art is weirdo behavior. I once had a young artist get inspired by my art and I remember feeling so happy. I felt nice that someone liked my art so much they got inspired by it, so idk what these guys are on abt lol.
unknownspy has seemed really full of herself lately imo, i recall seeing people in her comments asking questions and stuff about the characters and she replies really snarkily as if she is irritated by her own fans
Right?? I stopped liking their content a while ago cause of how sexual it was. I came back just to see what she was up to, but there are multiple posts where she gets weirdly offended when her characters are compared to something else. I get being annoyed as an artist, but she was responding to every comment that was mentioning it-
@@chromaticmono6406 yeah, just reeks of superiority complex to me, i get being irritated but theres a line you cross when you get aggressive with people who are just harmlessly interacting with your art, not to mention all the examples from the video where shes complaining about pose theft and background theft?? please grow up
@saltyspitoon2539 Throwing in my experience with Unknownspy. I answered a question of a user asking about something, and Spy was seemingly angry at me answering someone's simple question. Idk if that's normal with other people who make oc's and such.
Spy has a habbit of going after younger artist for "copying their style!" Where the minor in question doesn't even have 1% of their followers One time they went after a kid for having a inspired style to them MULTIPLE TIME on their Instagram stories and it was always "They draw hands like this! They make the legs like this! Lineart like that!" And even showing dm's telling them to stop "copying them" When spy could just block the person in question they don't loose any form of monetary gain and all it shows is an unhealthy obsession with thinking nobody can do it like them When in reality they are just as unoriginal as everyone els
1. Being asexual does NOT stop you from being able to groom someone. Grooming is something that makes the child feel stuck, they don’t even have to be attracted to you. The person could groom the child romantically too, and depending on that child’s mental status, it could very well work. Which is horrifying but it’s the truth. 2. Using a sexuality as an EXCUSE is insane. You may be asexual but using THAT sexuality as a reason to why you can’t do something as broad as grooming someone is actually absurd. Keep in mind, when figuring out you’re asexual you have to eventually learn that there’s a difference between sexual and romantic love, sure as a kid you could think “you’d only be groomed sexually so I’m safe”, but no actually! Maybe an ADULT could clue in the ladder, but apparently not. Above all I’m disappointed and it’s actually horrid to call someone grooming someone else a “mistake”. Like bffr why are we caring about groomers and abusers again?? “He ONLY killed one guy and it was by accident like the gun just happened to fire!! Okay yeah I loaded it and pulled the trigger and made the conclusion to actually shoot, but cmon!!”
Yeah, grooming doesn't have to be for sexual purposes, grooming by itself is a manipulative tactic to encourage certain behaviors and actions that the groomer wants for their own gain, and also can make it easier to control someone.
If i see another "drama" of a adult getting pissy over children "copying/talking inspiration" for them I'm actually going to loss my shit Have we not learnt after almost a decade of this shit Omg a child being shitty, boo hoo
I do very much understand my actions of what I did those two years ago, of course I deleted those NSFW channels and stopped interacting with those kinds of accounts, I am trying to improve myself from my past and what I have done. I am just really tired of this drama and I'm honestly very thankful that you've covered this, spy has been taking a lot of stuff I have said or images out of context just so she can make herself look better I have also been getting help on the suggestive stuff since I'm really used to drawing that kind of stuff I have been trying to tone it down from the things that I have been drawing, and I have been taking inspiration from mostly other artists and not those 2 fuckwads, I understand I shouldn't have been in those NSFW spaces or even those kinds of spaces I'm also sorry that you got dragged into this dumb drama. I also did explain in my document that yes I was a grooming victim before, which made me turn into the hypersexual that I am now, I am trying to work on myself and all this drama and crap but it's really hard when people are busting in my ears about stuff that I'm trying to ignore or just not pay attention to because I really don't want to get into it again. (I see happy in the comments)
Even if Happy was right about the "15 year old dating a 20 year old" thing, you would have to be delusional to think that the motivation for the 20 year old wasn't because they wanted power. Power dynamics play a role in abusive relationships, abusers tend to seek out victims who are "below" them in some way (maturity, financial status, living conditions, etc.). Thus making them easier to control and more vulnerable. Minors can't maintain healthy romantic relationships because of factors like experience and puberty. You can still have an abusive relationship with a 15 year old and a 20 year old without it being sexual.
@@HappyLikeAwall age of consent isn't age of adulthood though, they're different things so if an adult is dating a teenager without them having a pre-existing relationship where they were both teens, a 15 year old with a 20 year old still doesn't work. A 15 year old doesn't even meet the age of consent, though even beyond that this person is talking about the morality of the situation which differs from legality.
@@HappyLikeAwall The Romeo and Juliet laws only apply when there's a 1-2 year gap in the relationship. A 15 year old and 20 year old have a 5 year age gap. Also, you said that the age of consent is 16 in your country, but you said a *15* year old, not 16. Most countries with 16 as their age of consent can still penalize you if you're 3 or more years older than your s/o. Even if sexual acts weren't involved in the relationship, it would still be weird and predatory because of the difference in maturity.
@@HappyLikeAwall A "basic bit of research" would tell you that Romeo and Juliet laws are typically applied to 2-4 year gaps between TEENAGERS. It would also tell you that Romeo and Juliet laws are to protect teenagers from being charged with statutory r*pe. First off, why are you bringing up laws that pertain to statutory r*pe in a relationship where "shreggs isn't involved"? Secondly, do you just... not consider the fact that a relationship between a 15 year old and a 20 year old is extremely morally reprehensible? "Shreggs not being involved" is literally the only thing preventing the relationship you're defending from being illegal in most parts of the world. That said, just because it's not illegal doesn't mean it's okay. In any scenario, there's a pretty big gap in maturity and brain development between a 15 year old and a 20 year old. I feel like you, of all people, would know that, considering your stance on minors not belonging in adult spaces. (No, i'm not implying that I disagree with you on that.) Anyway, that's not even considering the social aspects; i'm pretty sure most people wouldn't be supportive if a 15 year old said that they were in a relationship with a 20 year old and vice versa. Both legally and morally, 5 years REALLY isn't a "small age gap" when you're talking about an adult dating a minor. Aside from citing a law that doesn't support your case in any capacity, how are you so stubborn that you're defending a college student dating a middle schooler/freshman high school student? Don't misconstrue my argument, I'm not implying you're a groomer. I'm questioning your beliefs and reasoning. Are you really saying you'd be okay with someone your age dating a highschool freshman or middleschooler? PLEASE consider how bad this belief makes your arguments look. A 15 year old, a minor, wouldn't be able to be in the same spaces as a 20 year old, an adult, but they'd be able to be in a relationship?
The closest type of drama I had been familiar with regarding unknownspy was through a mutual of mine on Instagram, who said that she had accused them of copying her SOLEY because they had an alien oc who had antennae BARELY resembling her oc sploot. The character in question didn't even REMOTELY look like Spy's character (it was a completely different color palette and had hair and a different body shape) yet Spy went out to message this person and demanded they change the design. They were, again, a way smaller artist than Spy. Seeing how Spy has addressed this whole situation, I am not surprised.
@@moonrabbit719 this also happened with my friend who took inspiration from sploot with their alien oc(different color pallet and outfit even though spy try to use it that as a point as well??). Sploot is just a green alien with big round antenna with an optional tail. It’s not like sploot is that original either if we are talking solely about the base design 😭
I remember when unknownspy and their followers bullied crucorvus for copying sleepykinq's baby hotline meme (they were nothing alike beside slowing the audio down, which cru's was even slower) to the point cru had to apologize to sleepykinq and credit them as "inspiration" (cru wasn't even inspired by them) before later unlisting their video. I'm pretty sure sleepykinq never even knew about cru or what unknownspy said.
I'm the same age as Unknown Spy and seeing her at her grown age misuse her platform to go after a 16 year old is so sickening? Do you not have better things to do? Especially since the callout had NOTHING of substance to truly call out Noi and ignored the safety of Noi being compromised as well as other minors in NSFW spaces. Is Noi being a shitty kid? Sure, a lot of teens have growth that needs to be made. Cannot believe no one caught on as quickly how horrible this callout was.
honestly im not surprised, have been a part of a previous drama where unknownspy made a whole doc about a friend of mine known as Zoethemonster, when she was young and had a developmental disorder, and the reason she was called out was based first only on her copying unknownspy's characters (which is normal for young developing artist) then spiraled out into a whole drama with several out of context screenshots and claims. And my friend was harassed so much she has legit developed ptsd that she is still to this day dealing with, constantly being worried she is copying other's characters by accident or that her characters are too similar to the characters of unknownspy. Edit: forgot to add also that this happened a few years back, when unknownspy was mainly doing the whole program world thing

16 and 20...is a stretch like it is one age away from disgusting but also depends when they met and stuff. 16 and 20 is only a 4 year age difference but it is definitely weird
@@derpkipperagain really depends. Like sometimes Freshmen and Seniors get together in high school and the relationship lasts. It’s weird but not inherently predatory or wrong. Like you see 13-14 year olds dating 17-18 year olds in high school. A 4 year age difference between high schoolers happens and sometimes they last for years. This it’s very situational. More often than not it’s much worse than two high school lovers having dated for a few years with a 4 year relationship so one becomes more and more of an adult while the other one is still a minor but and older minor.
@@mwokozi hey, captain obvious here. a 13/14 year old is massively different from a 17/18 year old sociologically & biologically which creates something called a power dynamic, which in this context refers to someone much younger with much less social rights & status (by way of age) getting into a relationship with someone who is much older, with much more rights, more status, more physical development of the brain, identity and body. With puberty there is a MASSIVE difference to an indivdual when they are 13 to when they are 15, causing internal relationship issues (here refering to 13yo with 15yo) that become inherently exploitative with a dynamic like 13 with 17, the younger party is unable to consent. The same is applicable to a 16 year old with a 20 year old. If this has happened to you or anyone you know, I urge you go talk to some sort of helpline or trusted friend! Even if this is 'normal' by way of how common it might have been for you, it really isn't healthy due to the inherently explotitive power dynamics - 17 year olds aren't normally attracted to 13 year olds for a reason, likewise with 20 year olds with 16 year olds, there's a noticable lack of development. If the older party is unable to tell that lack of development that's quite concering! The only time age gaps are normal is when both parties are experienced consenting adults, like 35 & 50 is a major age gap but provided both met when they were adults, its normal.
Since there’s an 80% chance Happy’s gonna see this as she looks for comments to argue with, lemme say something real quick: Happy, relentlessly searching for all the comments criticizing you and your statements to form obscenely long and draining rebuttals against them for an undetermined amount of time doesn’t make you look like the bigger person, it makes you look insecure, petty, and obsessed. This is just Sashley and more artist "drama" all over again, even people who were young during when the animation meme community when it was popular took it MORE like an actual adult than an adult who made soft p-word and just harassing a minor who yes, is a little sh-t and exposed other minors but ALSO THEMSELVES?!? I'm about to rip out my hair if I see another pose or outfit "theft". People like them need to learn better.
I find it "funny" when adults get mad when children on the internet do something incredibly minor that could just be solved by reporting and blocking said children
... Or we could solve this by stop downgrading the risks of minors on the internet, truly making it a public topic that deserves attention from society, discussing more efficient solutions and educate parents to reinforce their attention to monitoring what their children are doing in the internet. But any topic that envolves Parental responsability is a taboo or aproached with competitive intention by media
@@iikoifishii7893 I think it was inevitable when you take everything that happened into context and that if we truly want to prevent it from happening again. We must take the issue to people capable of raising awareness and not making a highly biased video about it, Streamline Ignored a series of details to convey information that she wants to believe in. This video doesn't really have an educational purpose and the way she expressed will do nothing but create two sides pointing fingers at each other which I believe was immensely irresponsible on her part as well. Again, while i believe that teenagers shouldnt respond to their actions the same way adults do, that doesnt mean they will not one day receive the consequences of their actions if they're not stopped in time, that's why the role of relatives is for, protecting children from themselves. Scenarios like Roi's never go down well and create people like King from discord. Personally im glad that Roi's actions were brought into light initially but I was immensely disappointed when no one gave a damn and now they are accusing the person who brought it up of harassment instead of paying attention to the essential point that, EVERYONE, misssed. That is to learn from this and make this a public issue that deserves society's attention.

Unknown spy put a bad taste in my mouth about a year before the drama had kicked off so I didn’t even know this happened. But somehow. Im unsurprised. The way they constantly complain about people comparing their art to other media is… well. To put it like this, you have someone drawing what looks like sonic, several dozen people comment ‘Oh this looks like sonic! Cool!’ And then that someone gets mad about it. On the one hand I understand that as a popular artist, you’d want to see comments beyond the comparison. But on the other hand, you have a series of drawings with this sonic looking character that talks and dresses like sonic. So when you extend from your follower base, other people who don’t know your work but see it because its so popular are going to comment ‘Oh this looks like sonic, nice.’ The fact that this ire extends into other aspects like not wanting people to be ‘heavily inspired’ by their very unique art style, to not have their outfit challenges be made into the main outfits of ocs, or even making a whole body type sheet and not wanting it to be used as a base. Idk, maybe its just me, but the way that UnknownSpy and several people they surround themself with police how people interact with their content, makes a petty drama between Spy and Noi inevitable.
@@Austin-LA I’m not saying this is for sure, because its speculation. But with how comfortable they were in constantly contacting Noi, telling them to stop, makes me think Spy has done it multiple times before. This was the first time that someone wasn’t intimidated by the big mainstream senpai.
@@generalkudzu8362 but my point at the end of the day, It shouldn't have been a thing to begin with. At a certain point in your life you should learn that being a child like this because a minor was "annoying" to you is petty and immature. Blocking is free and for adults to being this over and over again is ridiculous. I been online for 11+ years and this type of "drama" in the art community is old (I'm not mad at you, I'm just sick of seeing the same thing over and over)
For the “outfit challenge” thing it makes sense. She said people can get “inspired” but not just simply took the design and use it as their OC’s main outfit since if people do that, imagine how many OCs are gonna have the EXACT SAME outfit that other people OC’s have Other than that yea you’re right
Tbh, I just feel like UnknownSpy kinda fell off. Don’t get me wrong she’s got a nice art style but the way her content has become oversexualized just decreased a lot of its quality and originality, nowadays her content is just “sexy girl UwU”
You dare upload when I will be on a plane? Can’t believe you hate me specifically smh. (But also keen to hear about whatever nonsense you decided to bury yourself in today.)
Spy is whining about others "copying their art style" when they don't own it because an art style is for self-expression so their literally just saying "Stop expressing yourself this way!!!" as if the kids are claiming that they invented the art style when nobody did. Spy needs to get off the internet and stop acting like a clown and realize that as an adult they need to take responsibility for their actions.
Why can’t people hold kids/teenagers accountable while also treating them like they’re fucking kids/teenagers? If you’re an adult it is YOUR responsibility to respond maturely to a child. Not the other fucking way around. Christ.
I got so livid at the "countries outside America exist" bc like 😭 no duh? And im sure any other country with a lick of sanity when it comes to consent laws will be able to say that an adult and a child dating is NOT OKAY. I'm Romanian, Romania is a country in east europe and with full confidence I can say they are 30 years behind in development, but even my 40-something year old parents would CRINGE at the idea of a 17 yo no less a 15 yo dating a 20 yo
for real!! and might i add, people think too much about the age gap instead of the DIFFERENCE in these cases! for example, when it comes to 3 years between 17 yo and 20 yo, like that should not happen but the age gap is not a problem when it's between two ADULTS. At the end of the day i think it shouldn't be a hot take to say that it's fucked up to want a relationship with someone who isn't even an adult when you are starting your 20's :(
@@weirddd469 EXACTLY OH MY GOD 😭🙏 people focus too much on the actual value of the number itself rather than the gap in maturity. Yeah, like just because something is legal in another country, doesn’t mean there aren’t people in that country that are against it or that nobody can criticize it.
To me Spy has a ego problem, while I do think Noy is far from a saint himself, Spy comes across like she's more butt hurt that he's taking inspiration from her rather then the alleged harassment. I find the "pose theft" argument to be especially silly, no one owns a specific pose, it be like if someone accused an artist of stealing their drawing because they did a hand on the hip pose (one of the most common poses to draw) Not only that but Spy (a 27 year old) should've known that encouraging her fans to basically harass him (a 16 year old) would've end badly. Not only is it an abuse of power over your fans, but when stuff similar to this happened before, the person on the receiving end were send threats, abuse and even in extreme cases doxxed (just look at what happened to Illymation) Spy could've put someone in legit danger all because she couldn't just blocked him and wanted to be seen as the victim
28:04 More on this, UnknownSpy's suggestive content was how I found them. And I was younger than I am now. UnknownSpy did not try to age restrict content or anything, it was all there to see. Preaches children should not be seeing this stuff and that it's dangerous when his content was available.. For kids to see...
idk why but i found the sploot stuff very weird and off putting plus I saw them bully a smaller youtuber into taking down their vid before for no reason
Holy Moly brother wow, what a video. As an avid Unknownspy fan for pretty much my entire digital art career, this is a crazy situation and it's insane how immature LITERAL ADULTS could be when dealing with children using your work and compositions for inspiration and trying to hone their skills. I've always known Spy's egotistic behavior (if you would like to call it that) when it comes to her art and style. I remember her telling somebody on her Discord server to credit her because they used a base as a reference for their art (not tracing but just using it as a guide on the side) and I was just really confused and was like "You don't own an art style???". I find it really petty and concerning that they literally care more about a kid taking heavy inspiration in their art than their overall online safety and wellbeing. I will quote one of my friends with a similar situation they had which is literally: "Honestly don't really give a shit, people like this are everywhere" "and they gotta look up to ur art to have the motive to trace it so I think that's cool" and it's just baffling that Spy can't just have this attitude, it's more positive and overall, you should not care, it's not like they're stealing your audience away, it's just useless to blow it up to such a degree. I notice that Spy overall is a very protective person of her art and takes offense if people take heavy references or even make comparison comments. I understand that these comments are annoying, but at least do the right thing and just ignore them and don't take them to that personal of a level, and in all honesty, I'm surprised she never DMed me talking about me having a character inspired by her art (probably cuz my art now is WAYY different and the design isn't clearly referencing her art) but nonetheless, she needs to have a better way of dealing with these types of situations instead of giving them mass attention. I'm not gonna mention Happy since they're just ridiculous and I'm just focusing more on Spy. Overall this was a very well made video! I sincerely hope that the people involved (including their fans) take these criticisms to heart and actually change their ways, but it's the internet, I may be asking for too much LMAO
This entire situation just could’ve been prevented if: 1. The minor was encouraged not to be in NSFW spaces + BLOCKED 2. UnknownSpy and Happy understand that people will be inspired by their work 3. Understand that the animation meme community is made of LITERAL CHILDREN and separate their SFW and NSFW Not to mention UnknownSpy is kind of a hypocrite in terms of “oh they keep stealing my ideas” in terms of “outfit theft” because she makes outfit month challenges that anybody can use as inspo. This whole thing is a mess
dude, yes. its so easy to say "well they shouldnt be interacting with it in the first place" and thats true, but kids arent gonna understand WHY they arent allowed to. even if they know theyre not supposed to, if a kid wants something, theyre gonna find a way to get it. at that point its up to the account owners to block them so they cant *continue* interacting
@@viscerazombie Yeah that’s true that’s true. At the end of the day it’s up to them to block minors and lock adult content because if they’re gonna say stuff like “who’s gonna protect the adults? :(“ they gotta make it a lot harder for minors to find it
happy once said a relationship with a 15 year old and a 20 year old was ok and after I responded to that tweet of her and said that even if it not sexual it's still worng and after I posted a tweet saying that if anyone sees a tweet of me saying I like her art it was before she made that and that I was simply going to unfollow because I don't agree with the idea of 15 and 20 being together is ok, she blocked me for some reason even tho she never responded to me and it's was back when I only had like 300 followers I think

@@superpandaidol_3 That's what we call "adultism", it's unfortunately very common especially in the US and the UK. The common mindset that children are not human just because they are not adults yet makes me feel ashamed well into adulthood for being a child in the past because I was told all my life that I was dumb no matter how hard I studied and tried to prove that I was actually smart, that I'm worthless because I couldn't do anything simply because of laws that were put in place to oppress minors and treat them as property of their parents rather than human beings, and that I would never amount to anything, and the world would be better off without me in it, and this was all because of my age at the time. This is why Youth Rights and Youth Liberation are now a thing.
The midpoint conversation of unknown spy and their suggestive art influencing kids hits... a little too hard :( I was a fan of them, having found them on youtube in the animation meme community, but things really happened when I got instagram for the first time, and I'm pretty sure it was around that time when they started to post some of their really suggestive stuff, unless they had the entire time and I never realized (i found them originally from just their flame guy and other non-heavily sexualized characters). And mind you at the time, I was a 11-12 who didn't know any better and overrun with hormones, and given literally none of unknown's shit is censored in any which way, inevitably, being exposed to their contend ended up really affecting me and influencing my own art and what kind of art I would make. They became a terrible idol to me and while I drew just some cool looking guys, all the women I drew were absolutely not treated the same, all of which were heavily sexualized with big chests and wide hips. Of course, I also became more "experimental" with the poses I drew and such. And yet, I feel so blessed to be able to say that I never exposed much of this content, or at least not that I remember, and luckily I was not popular either, only having about 200 followers with only 10% of that being people who actually interacted with my content let alone me. But I know no experience is original, so my heart goes out to anyone who might've gone down the less ideal path of my situation themself.

Ill be honest, Spy doing this isnt surprising to me in the slightest. Now, this all happened over her IG story and i dont have ss for this, so take it with a grain of salt if you want... A while back, like 2018-19 or so, Spy posted to her story about how people were copying her oc Sploot. Some held water, only some, but even those were "Splootsonas" clearly made by young teens who looked up to her. Others were literally just inspired by her art and looked nothing like her character, and again, were clearly made by young teens. The worst part is that she posted the art these kids made to her story, some with names attached, to her IG audience of thousands saying "dont do this this. this is wrong." Now idk about you, but if my idol posted my art to their story saying "dont do this" id be devastated, especially if i was a young artist. Spy going after young artists who look up to her is nothing new.
the thing with Sploot too is that theyre a very simple character design who's design is constantly changed between drawings such as different outfits, accessories, skin colors, and whether or not they have a tail. when your character is a generic little green alien with a purposefully inconsistent design i dont think you get to be angry when people are inspired by it. even if these kids were purposefully copying Sploot's design completely, the way Spy drew them could easily give the impression that making Sploot-like designs was encouraged. thats not to entirely say Spy isnt allowed to be upset when their work is copied to a T, but they definitely act super pretentious for someone who's most popular character is Green Alien With Antennae

The only point I disagree with is Unknownspy having to remove any of their suggestive works, as they still post suggestive animations and art to this day. They label themselves as not for kids so I'm unsure where the idea they were becoming more family friendly came from.
Recently spy made their main mascot sploot a lot more pg than what they used to be. That could’ve been what stream was referring to, but regardless your point still stands
I think it’s more of the fact they are in a community commonly is known to have children. It’s not a surprise that the “meme” community has children. And spy has their works with easy access and suggestive. So it’s not too far fetch to be critical of Spy especially since their works are in a child’s space even if they label themselves as not for kids. One has to be mindful of these things.
@@randoexpresso1105 I disagree with animation memes being purely a child's space, there's plenty of adult animators that are in that sphere that use it for practice. There are a lot of suggestive, gorey, and sometimes down right triggering content that are animation memes. If it says not for kids that's all the creator can really do, you can't control an audience beyond that.
@@akiraohalloran so would you say a fandom, such as MLP, that DOES have gore and adult content is now not made with the soul purpose to be only for kids? Now that this content exist it’s only for adults or for all ages now? t’s just a fact that a large majority of animation memes are made by and for children. No disagreeing will unfortunately change that fact. You can say that there are older content creators out there, I’m not disagreeing with that. But to not acknowledge that a fandom is made of mostly children and make content that is easy to access or say that you disagree of people having criticism of a content creator not being more mindful of this fact is disingenuous. Going to edit this bc I can feel ppl are going to assume things: I do agree tagging is important and is the responsible thing for a creator to do. My comment is so acknowledge and accept the fact that if a adult creator is going to make content in a space made up of mostly children they HAVE to be really careful and mindful. And the truth is. A lot of meme creators are not. So, it’s not surprising that people DO have grievances with them. And it’s a fact that at the end of the day a large part of animation memes where made mostly by and for children.
@@randoexpresso1105 But animation memes are broad in comparison to a fandom, and I've only personally ever seen it created by adults like Yeager, Sir Fluff, Beautysnake, Wingedwolf94, Roxxy, and the list could go on. I don't think it's fair to say it's made by children exclusively when there's so many adult animators that have made it their living and have even created their own original memes for other's to copy. I will never see the animation meme community for children only when it's so vast. It's like gatekeeping animation all together for children for how vast it is. It's not something that is intended for kids like MLP because it doesn't have a soul creator/s, it's a layout. The layout being, animate your character to music, that's so broad. I've been watching animation memes since childhood, looking up to the adults, granted they're are somethings I probably shouldn't have watched but there were warnings and I just didn't listen, that's on me not them.
Im 23 and for the past two years people younger than me (15-18) who used to be my followers and fans of my art have copied a lot of things from me. my ideas, designs, character lore, fan designs. no matter how personal they were. and later on it got worse, some people started copying me. as a person. they started imitating and copying my personality, my psychological issues, my disorders, characters I relate to or see myself as (Not kinning, it was/is something serious I have to deal with) and so on. and what Ive heard it still goes on today. all of this has triggered me dozens of times, made me su*cidal and almost attempt even. many times. even after I blocked these people everywhere. some still stalk and shit talk me, simply because of the uncommon way that I suffer. they dont see it as valid. but none of this, not even once, has made me callout these people. I know they are either children, malicious people, or both. I do not want to experience any of this, and dont want it to continue, which is why I block freely and leave it at that. I do vent about it sometimes, but only to my close friends. if I knew I couldnt handle sudden popularity like this and its consequences, I wouldve never joined this specific community. I feel for spy, but their behaviour is extremely immature, dangerous, creepy and self destructive. I should know, I suffer from self destructive behaviours lol. oh and yeah, not to even mention all the unforgivable and unexcusable nsfw stuff. youtube is 13+ which means children/young teens are allowed to be on here. sure, we random adults are not their caretakers, but having a cute and simple art style is obviously very appealing to children. if your content appeals to children, it very much IS our responsibility to keep those children safe from content that could be harmful to them. youtube is a public place on the internet. it is seriously not hard at all to keep nsfw stuff in a place meant strictly for adults (twitter*, onlyfans, patreon), while keeping the sfw stuff in public places that kids are allowed to be in. idc what anyone says, posting nsfw and very suggestive stuff in public platforms that children are allowed to be in is the exact same as some freak walking around at a mall with an ahegao hoodie on *twitter is nowadays very full of children so even there Id suggest to post nsfw stuff on a private account, but then again, it is 17+. that app is not meant for children. personally I care way too much about kids and their safety so I wouldnt be able to post nsfw publicly.
Kinda stopped liking unknown spy when they started only posting softcore p-word all over their accounts. I was looking at that shit as a minor, not knowing that I shouldn't have been looking at it :\ It's not hard to keep adult content like that away from public spaces.
To make this worse: within Artfight last year, a thing about giving to others, they designed OCs for other people, didn't label them and then just took the designs when everyone was confused as to which design was theirs
Their animations have always had suggestive themes they activly put warnings on their content. Its not their fault if kids ignore it they even have their age limit on the account
@@MidnightCapricorn2696 yeah, idrc abt the suggestive stuff as much (though i do wish they did put more content warnings on their stuff) but the art fight thing caused me to unsub and leave their content entirely for a more indepth explanation if people dont know: art fight is an event that happens every july. you send "attacks" to other artists that are just drawing their ocs. some people have a "make me an oc" 'character' where you can submit an attack where you make them a custom instead of drawing a diff oc that they have. spy decided to do a "mass attack" (an attack that includes multiple, and oftentimes MANY other people's characters) which are worth more points (since its two sides fighting, each attack gains points depending on how large and polished and timestaking it is). spy's mass attack was drawing customs for fifty-two people. however, none of them were labelled, it was essentially just 52 random characters in a grid, no label, no description, nothing. this attack got THOUSANDS of points all while spy never told the recipients who's was who's. the most insidious thing though was that AFTER THE SCORES WERE CALCULATED, meaning after they were set in stone, spy DELETED the attack. those points were not removed from the team's total since again, they'd been calculated. so she literally just led on over 50 people for no reason other than fake internet points. its not the worst thing someone can do evar!!1! but i just couldnt look at her content in the same way ever again

unknownspy has some... interesting behavior patterns. i can't prove the following since i don't have screenshots, but i'll share my own (albeit much less serious) story here anyway: a while back, unknownspy created a universe/story/etc called 'world of none' (? iirc) and it was basically about organized stick figure fighting. each stick figure had their own unique weapons and stuff. afaik, that was it, and it's also all i remember. she later ENCOURAGED the fanbase to make ocs for the story. this was fine and dandy until, at some point, she must've went through her own oc tag and looked at all the different characters... and... 1. screenshotted all of the ones that had design traits in common 2. put them all in a collage 3. put it on her instagram story basically calling all of her fans unoriginal for... making characters that shared design elements? and i remember seeing my oc in the absolutely massive crowd that she'd grabbed for seemingly no reason. and it did hurt a little! it's such an odd way to treat fans' fanwork for YOUR universe to me. i dunno. hearing her name mentioned again made me remember it

When it comes to children, they are still growing and most likely acting on the influences in their environment.

Not saying its ok for them to after kids though
If someone "steals" (takes inspiration from) my art I'd be very happy. Sadly, that won't happen because I'm pretty bad at art lol.
The Sashley Drama is part of what made it difficult for me to draw as often as I wanted to as a kid. I now still struggle to get up and draw because I'm scared, and people like Spy feeding into this mess of a "callout trend" is 100% wrong.

@@HappyLikeAwall Stop copy pasting
A 15 year old, a minor, wouldn't be able to be in the same spaces as a 20 year old, an adult, but they'd be able to be in a relationship?

honestly im not surprised, have been a part of a previous drama where unknownspy made a whole doc about a friend of mine known as Zoethemonster, when she was young and had a developmental disorder, and the reason she was called out was based first only on her copying unknownspy's characters (which is normal for young developing artist) then spiraled out into a whole drama with several out of context screenshots and claims.
I used to follow Spy when this happened and I remembered feeling so confused to why the doc was long. 💀 I hope your friend heals from this. The art community can be very discouraging to young beginner artists.
@@Litchinensis yea I agree with you there, she is still healing from the process, luckily most of the drama is over but there are still some traces of it with people who still believe her to be a copycat
I remember this! I remember In the discord group chat of Spy saying that the photo mood board collage Zoe made wasn’t ‘art’ or somethin??? (can’t exactly remember). And I defended saying that the collage is her creation, a combination of images to create something new/ an effect (my actual opinion) . I talked to her again for the first time in 4 years (I was a really shy and busy person) after my discord account got hacked for a while I had to delete links and I apologised. 16 and 20...is a stretch like it is one age away from disgusting but also depends when they met and stuff.
16 and 20 is only a 4 year age difference but it is definitely weird
@alexisdied4558 you definitely won't be saying this when you're about 5 to 10 years older. 🤨
@@mwokozi a 17 year old dating a 13 year old is fucking INSANE wtf are you on 😭
@@mwokozi hey, captain obvious here. a 13/14 year old is massively different from a 17/18 year old sociologically & biologically which creates something called a power dynamic, which in this context refers to someone much younger with much less social rights & status (by way of age) getting into a relationship with someone who is much older, with much more rights, more status, more physical development of the brain, identity and body.
Since there’s an 80% chance Happy’s gonna see this as she looks for comments to argue with, lemme say something real quick:

There is no problem in calling out an discord server that is endangering children, the problem is that they treated NOI on the same level as the predators when they could victims to the adult themselves, along with making fun of their art. THIS IS DRAMA?!? No, this isn't drama. This is both a crime (Considering no one is out here seeing if Noi the MINOR is exposing themselves) They're possibly being gr00med!!! As someone who was online gr00med (I was never out there with my age when I was younger but it was a convo I never started and exposed myself), just because a child acts "mature" doesn't mean anything. They're still VERY young, they have a long way to go. Unknownspy is actively stalking and potentially exposing more gr00mers to Noi's way!! I've been a spectator in the Animation meme community for A LONG WHILE.
I find funny when you shits can't take responsibility, but you are still developing. Can't judge your immaturity too harshly
@@ThiscatinmypfoAgreed, but also do you think that how this scenario was dealt with was a proper way to do that?

So when you extend from your follower base, other people who don’t know your work but see it because its so popular are going to comment ‘Oh this looks like sonic, nice.’
The fact that this ire extends into other aspects like not wanting people to be ‘heavily inspired’ by their very unique art style, to not have their outfit challenges be made into the main outfits of ocs, or even making a whole body type sheet and not wanting it to be used as a base.
Idk, maybe its just me, but the way that UnknownSpy and several people they surround themself with police how people interact with their content, makes a petty drama between Spy and Noi inevitable.

To me Spy has a ego problem, while I do think Noy is far from a saint himself, Spy comes across like she's more butt hurt that he's taking inspiration from her rather then the alleged harassment. The midpoint conversation of unknown spy and their suggestive art influencing kids hits... a little too hard :(
I was a fan of them, having found them on youtube in the animation meme community, but things really happened when I got instagram for the first time, and I'm pretty sure it was around that time when they started to post some of their really suggestive stuff, unless they had the entire time and I never realized (i found them originally from just their flame guy and other non-heavily sexualized characters).
And how long were you someone who didn't know any better. Gonna really look someone in the eye and stand by saying ' I had zero idea what I was looking at was inappropriate.'

Even if they've done bad stuff they are still kids and they still need to be protected and I think gently educating kids isn't bad but if they get upset or something about it then attacking them still isn't right :/
@@EpicSwagmaster94 That's a pretty rude generalization. No, all children are not ignorant or immature just because of their age, we wouldn't have adult bigots otherwise such as Happy. Kids are smarter than adults give them credit for, but we live in a society that views children as subhuman just because they are not adults yet, therefore justifying these beliefs which, mind you, the ageist stereotype that all kids are ignorant and immature is used to justify treating them the way Spy does

"who's gonna protect the adults!" oOOooOO the kid boogeyman is gonna bother you OOOOOooooOOO god its insane that these are the same people that came from the animation community which feels like the prime example of where kids be stupid for attention and shouldn't y'know, be given any more attention that could easily be lead to harassment

Going to edit this bc I can feel ppl are going to assume things:
I do agree tagging is important and is the responsible thing for a creator to do.
I should know, I suffer from self destructive behaviours lol.
oh and yeah, not to even mention all the unforgivable and unexcusable nsfw stuff. youtube is 13+ which means children/young teens are allowed to be on here. sure, we random adults are not their caretakers, but having a cute and simple art style is obviously very appealing to children. if your content appeals to children, it very much IS our responsibility to keep those children safe from content that could be harmful to them. youtube is a public place on the internet. it is seriously not hard at all to keep nsfw stuff in a place meant strictly for adults (twitter*, onlyfans, patreon), while keeping the sfw stuff in public places that kids are allowed to be in.
idc what anyone says, posting nsfw and very suggestive stuff in public platforms that children are allowed to be in is the exact same as some freak walking around at a mall with an ahegao hoodie on
*twitter is nowadays very full of children so even there Id suggest to post nsfw stuff on a private account, but then again, it is 17+. that app is not meant for children. personally I care way too much about kids and their safety so I wouldnt be able to post nsfw publicly.

To make this worse: within Artfight last year, a thing about giving to others, they designed OCs for other people, didn't label them and then just took the designs when everyone was confused as to which design was theirs

@@MidnightCapricorn2696 yeah, idrc abt the suggestive stuff as much (though i do wish they did put more content warnings on their stuff) but the art fight thing caused me to unsub and leave their content entirely
for a more indepth explanation if people dont know:
art fight is an event that happens every july. you send "attacks" to other artists that are just drawing their ocs. some people have a "make me an oc" 'character' where you can submit an attack where you make them a custom instead of drawing a diff oc that they have. spy decided to do a "mass attack" (an attack that includes multiple, and oftentimes MANY other people's characters) which are worth more points (since its two sides fighting, each attack gains points depending on how large and polished and timestaking it is).
spy's mass attack was drawing customs for fifty-two people. however, none of them were labelled, it was essentially just 52 random characters in a grid, no label, no description, nothing. this attack got THOUSANDS of points all while spy never told the recipients who's was who's.
the most insidious thing though was that AFTER THE SCORES WERE CALCULATED, meaning after they were set in stone, spy DELETED the attack. those points were not removed from the team's total since again, they'd been calculated. so she literally just led on over 50 people for no reason other than fake internet points.

unknownspy has some... interesting behavior patterns. i can't prove the following since i don't have screenshots, but i'll share my own (albeit much less serious) story here anyway:
a while back, unknownspy created a universe/story/etc called 'world of none' (? iirc) and it was basically about organized stick figure fighting. each stick figure had their own unique weapons and stuff. afaik, that was it, and it's also all i remember. she later ENCOURAGED the fanbase to make ocs for the story. this was fine and dandy until, at some point, she must've went through her own oc tag and looked at all the different characters... and...
1. screenshotted all of the ones that had design traits in common
2. put them all in a collage
3. put it on her instagram story basically calling all of her fans unoriginal for... making characters that shared design elements?
and i remember seeing my oc in the absolutely massive crowd that she'd grabbed for seemingly no reason. and it did hurt a little! it's such an odd way to treat fans' fanwork for YOUR universe to me. i dunno. hearing her name mentioned again made me remember it
I was literally JUST talking to my boyfriend about how I felt like UnknownSpy was going to/has been in some type of chronically online drama and well... here we are.
I actually used to watch and enjoy unknownspy’s content, especially as a kid, but after hearing about this drama, I stopped. Because it just put such a bad taste in my mouth- anywho glad someone is making a video on this!!
