The thing about TRO that makes him stand above every other commentary channel imo is the scripts. To make scripts so consistently well-written, insightful, on topic, and engaging takes genuine talent. The amount of time he spends writing them must be pretty significant. The flashy editing is just for mass appeal, and I can pretty safely say he puts more effort than most into those videos even with an editing team.
I would love to see 90% of other "commentary" channels even attempt to write scripts of that scale and quality. As a writer, I am very confident most could not do it. I lost interest in "commentary" as a whole a long time ago, his videos are the only ones within that category I still watch regularly.

Was watching the Sydsnap episode of trash taste and it made me so sad hearing how she went through so much because of his video based on a goofy parody video that she made about a cringey type of anime girl that was completely taken out of context on 4chan and people not knowing who she actually was, sending her death threats and telling her to just die. I can’t understand how I used to enjoy watching Leafy’s videos. Around 6 months before the Content Cop, I just stopped watching his videos simply because I started finding him obnoxious. I'm not really sure what it was, but after a while I stopped watching his uploads. I'm not 100% sure why there's this push for wanting Leafy back. I keep seeing people say something about people being too soft now a days. Like there's this unspoken thing of "let me be a shitty person in peace" going around. PC culture is cancerous. That mentality of creating victimhood for yourself is garbage too. I just don't see why to combat one extreme side you have to swing really hard the other way.

I liked leafy but you could tell near the end the insults started getting to him. The best era of youtube was the csgo surfing roast commentary videos, I spent so many hours a day watching leafy and Luna or others like them.

In all honestly leafy didn’t really deserve everything he got. Not to say he never should have gotten criticized but everyone just dog piled on him back in the day.
Its fascinating how his videos influenced the TH-cam content spectrum so much yet also created so many issues.
Its weird how Leafy clones are lazy by simply doing what Leafy did. But oddly going back and watching old Leafy videos i did find them kinda funny. Normally i would consider then low effort but considering Leafy was doing his own thing in the beginning with no interest in making a following then i consider it not to be a big deal. They were entertaining.
I do think Pyro was better and he was part of the reason Leafy’s content got stale. Because someone was doing his content better and had something to say about the topics being presented.
Whether you love him or hate him Leafy did have a dramatic impact on youtube as a whole, hell maybe modern social media too. With Filthy Frank, Pewdiepie’s controversies, adpoclypse, rise in social justice, Donald Trump getting elected, just a perfect shit storm that led to alot of cry babies being born on youtube today. And im still not sure if Leafy hurt or helped make it happen.

Was watching the Sydsnap episode of trash taste and it made me so sad hearing how she went through so much because of his video based on a goofy parody video that she made about a cringey type of anime girl that was completely taken out of context on 4chan and people not knowing who she actually was, sending her death threats and telling her to just die. Leafy should’ve actually looked into wtf he was making a video on and not bully people especially after people told him what they went through because of his videos. He deleted his videos and yet would make another video on someone else, doing the same thing. Some weren’t bad, but what Sydney had to deal with because of his video was just sad.

I can’t understand how I used to enjoy watching Leafy’s videos. Around 6 months before the Content Cop, I just stopped watching his videos simply because I started finding him obnoxious. Recently, I tried watching his videos because of nostalgia, but god damn I couldn’t go through one without quitting in less than a single minute. The jokes suck, the voice is unbearable, and the repetitiveness is boring as fuck, I just kept feeling embarrassed for having even enjoyed his content back in 2016
