Honestly, charmx actually helped people because he reacted to creators with less subs (like me) and boosted their sub count, mostly with YTP channels. So go sub to him
Tyrone Magnus is an example of a reaction channel that has never changed (drastically) from the get go and will probably never stop until he decides he's had enough. (Though that'll be too soon.) Out of all if not most reaction channels, he's the one who's survived the longest. Even through the drama, he never wavered.
At one point you showed the channel "Heavenly Controller." While I get why you showed that channel, the video you used was a collab with a channel named "Pretty Much It." Their channel is also a reaction channel, but they edit it in a way that shortens the video to around 10-15 minutes, cutting out the majority of the original movie/tv show. They do have a Patron, but they only release the commentary track or the video of them reacting, never the movie/tv show they are reacting to. I dislike commentary channels, but the way Pretty Much It edits their videos and never use the full movie/episode is something I am ok with. The whole point of this was to say that there are reaction channels that don't violate copyright or put out videos with little to no editing.
Long Schnozzed Tribesman I think reaction videos are fine and enjoy some of them, but the main problem here is channels not actually “reacting”, and just watching the video and laughing every so often.
ill admit i watch reaction channels but i don't do it for the actual video but more for the reactions and comments they give and sometimes they even stop it and give their thoughts. i pretty much only watch a reaction video of things ive already seen though i mostly watch reactions of shows i like. one good channel is Theflamingshark, he actually gives constant commentary and thoughts about what he is watching and is a genuenly fun guy! he doesnt do it for money (he has been doing this for years and just recently started a patreon just so he can keep the channel going, no sketchy paywalls) And if im gonna be honest i just love the company! It just feels like im not alone and actually watching with them, its the same for letsplays that can be pretty much compared to reactions if we are gonna be honest, they show the game in full with little change(depending on the game) and also removes the need to actually buy the game itself afterwards. But as i said i like watching these for the company for the most part. This was horribly written, i know.
I'll admit I do like to see reactions to the music I listen to because it is a bit different. It is mostly seeing and hearing an opinion on a good bit of my favorite bands. Since some of the bands I listen to can be a bit obscure it is interesting to see how much they enjoy it, Some of them isn't just music videos some is just the music itself. I love guy's like U.U.U and Mike become the Knight and Lost In Vegas.
ImDontai is really one of the only reaction channels to boost his career forward, and although he still does reactions, he mainly focuses on being a twitch streamer, which has been working out for him
I don't think it's fair to say that the reaction videos to anime or TV shows are replacements to watching the original source material. I only really have any experience watching anime reaction videos, but in most cases, when they don't cut out from the clips, they edit them in such a way that nobody would ever use it as a substitute for seeing the original show. They cut out all the sound, flip the video, cover it with overlays to the point where anybody using that as a primary source for original content would have the experience actively ruined. When you factor in how easy it is to pirate anime in high quality with actual sound, it makes no sense for anyone to use reaction videos as a substitute for that. In most cases, people watch these videos after having already seen the show, I guess to kinda have experience of watching it blind all over again (at least, that's how it is for me).
I think music reactions are fine. Everyone requesting a reactor to react to a song have already heard the song and it can expose the music reactors audience and the reactor himself to new music. Bands and musicians commonly post some reactors reactions on their social media pages cause they like seeing people get exposed to new music
Yes, but most of the reaction channels cut them down to 10minutes. (which in 40-50min series is just 20-25% of the whole episode) And also in the "full reaction video" that they offer in patreons, they only play the sounds and give timestamps so you can sync up your own netflix/hulu/whatever to watch it with them. So it's not like pirating TV shows as this video makes it out to be. Also very small percentage watches reaction videos to keep up with tv shows. This can be easily seen in how many views anime fight scene reaction videos, where people could just watch the original video on youtube, yet they want to see other people's reactions to it.
Tbh some music reaction channels are really fucking good, my favorite being Lost in Vegas. I think they pretty much pioneered the "genre-fan reacts to a completely different genre of music" reaction type (their most popular videos are those where they react to rock/heavy metal), & the way they share their opinions & impressions on the song feels extermely genuine and thoughtful, even if they don't exactly know the proper terms for specific music techniques for example (which is not a problem at all imho). After these 2 dudes hit the scene, many other channels tried to replicate their success by reacting to the same content but most of the time it doesn't really stick as much as when Ryan & George get into it idk i just really love their shit
Hell yes they’re common... music video reaction channels!! I love to watch a lot of them, but can tell when certain ones aren’t really into it, nor the music. They are just wanting to blow up as fast 💨 as possible. I thought of doing reactions to music. However it would be tough for me being such a music lover myself. I love music from almost all genres & eras. That’s why I love watching reactions. Because they are listening to all the songs I know. Vinand Sori has to be the best reaction channel in my opinion. They react to music, however, their videos are always around 20-40 minutes long. They listen to the music, then break it down and talk about what they thing the song means, they look into the lyrics and read through them and they often end up telling stories about things that could relate to the music's material and it's just really fun to watch or listen to. They're really unique

Personally I don't really see any problem with reaction channels as long as they aren't using it to get more attention than the source material or getting a shit-ton of money. Reaction channels/videos provide feedback to content creators. Some people would react to it, might enjoy what they were watching and describe what they liked about it, while others might not like what they were watching and describe what they didn't like about it. All feedback is good feedback. If someone gets a lot of positive feedback based on one video or more, chances are they'll stick to that style of video in terms of editing or style for the foreseeable future. If someone gets a lot of negative feedback based on one video or more, chances are the content wasn't very good or they didn't do a good job of editing, for example. The creator can use that feedback and improve.
Disappointed to see you hate on pretty much it. Eric has been doing commentary tracks for movies and shows for close to ten years now. Their content is actually humorous and usually adds a ton to the movies. It’s not just a simple let’s watch this and say nothing. It’s basically like watching a movie with your friends where y’all just make jokes the entire time.

Oh, no! Jinx reproduced.
This guy needs a girlfriend. He's clearly got too much time on his hands.
Say Aye if you hate jinx
Reaction channels are about approval, connection and authenticity.

Too bad
They should never come back

I saw pie charts and bar charts, but I had not idea what (if anything) they meant. Maybe they were just stock photos like much else, but if you made them from your data, you need help in presentation.
Also black people made most reaction channels due to..nvm
