52:05 How it works in this universe is if you amputate fast enough, you will usually survive but if the infection spreads before you cut it off then it’s already too late. Lee was showing symptoms of infection, even passed out, prior to his amputation
Riight! Just like in World War Z.
The bite was also in the upper body, which made the infection spread faster than it would've if it had been in a leg or a toe.
It didn't help that he had lost too much blood, too. Amputation is a big gamble if you can't afford to treat it.
To add to that, if you cut off a bitten limb to stop the infection, it literally has to be within seconds after the bite, a minute at most. By the time you can choose to have Lee amputate the arm at the morgue, it would’ve already been at least 2-3 hours based on the time it would have taken him to get there from the house, not to mention the fact that he was already showing symptoms at that point (passing out, getting pale). It’s why I always choose to keep the arm whenever I play through that episode

There's a non-spoilery theory I wholeheartedly believe in: Carlos lied about being a doctor so he could get more people to help with Sarah. Ain't no way he doesn't know what a bite looks like. Hell, Clem's bite don't even look like a bite. It looks like someone carved her with a jagged knife

Even someone who isn’t a doctor would be able to tell the difference between a dog bite and a walker (human) bite. Unless you got bitten by a vampire, no human would have teeth that pointy and sharp enough for it to make that kind of mark on the arm

the writers of walking dead listened to kurt vonneguts creative writing basics a lot . rule 6 "Be a sadist. No matter how sweet and innocent your leading characters, make awful things happen to them-in order that the reader may see what they are made of."
That may be valid. However, in no way have Kurt's novels been anywhere on the scale of this mental torture, or as deliberate in their method. The writers took the advice of a literary legend, and twisted it into their own sick fantasy.

The reason Lee cutting off his arm didn't work is because it was too late. He already passed out from the infection. If you do it immediately, it works.

The dumbest part about them leaving her in the shed is the fact that bitten by a walker or not that shit would STILL get infected, because they didn't even attempt to do anything to the wound to combat it. She'd still get sick and weak.

Though, I'm sure the reason why they didn't had more to do with their own consciences than anything. They didn't want to let a little girl off on her own but also wasting supplies on a dead girl would be bad. From our POV though we know what happened and it probably would've gotten infected since she already passed out once from blood loss.

he was already feeling the effects of the bite, and he passed out... theyd only considered cutting the arm off after he had woken up, but by then it was too late. it had already reached other parts of his body. it has to be cut off within minutes after the bite.... this of course really only works for arms, legs, fingers and hands... you cant really cut off someones torso or neck without killing them.
It also wasn’t an official medical procedure by professionals. They just chopped his arm off put on some bandages and just called it a day.
yeah, the cousin down in ainesworth likely got his arm cut off almost instantly- while lee's was cut off 2-3 hours later.

51:49 As far as cutting off limbs to get rid of the infection, it definitely works but you almost have to do it immediately. There's not a set time frame, but for one of the characters in the comics it worked within about two minutes of being bit, while it didn't work for another character within roughly 10 minutes.
As soon as Jett said that the dog is gonna be our homie, I just felt sad. This game won't let Jett have anything nice.

You can change the graphics of the game in the settings to make it look better it will get rid of the black filter (if you haven’t noticed the game has a black filter for the comics ) and add a bit of colour it overall makes the game look a lot better
