I got it right! As soon as you said, "No green light," I thought, "Check the one wire circuit!" I feel empowered by your content. Thanks. I'm actually learning this stuff.
I have no idea why I keep watching these videos..love the bike ride through New York, love the real estate videos, love the board repair videos. I will never do board repair, but love just gaining an understanding of anything that interests me. But today, to hear Louis explain how political affiliation is not important to gaining an understanding of what interest you, that is the reason I keep watching. To continually hear how people continue to dislike someone for who they support politically just amazes me; they are so influenced by what others think and they build a hatred of people for their own lack of open mindedness!
Anel's long-screw damage looks like a really painful reminder of one more thing to avoid. Thanks for the visuals, I did not predict that it would be as graphic, but it is still very educational and to the point.
I just wanted to say thanks for all these videos Louis. I don't work on computers at all, but I do use troubleshooting (of a kind, not electronics) everyday. I have learned more on how to troubleshoot with out loosing hair and teeth than anything I was taught in school. I cannot express how much I appreciate that.
Honestly the best troubleshooting methods I learned were in the Navy, it was electrical but it applies to mechanical and control systems as well. You start by asking what the symptoms are then you start at a high level and ask what functions are involved in this. then you identify a point somewhere in the middle where you can test if it's giving the expected output and you test there. From there you rule out the known good side and split the unknown side in half to try to identify the faulted circuit and you just keep repeating until you get to a component. From the component you work outwards confirming there's no additional damage. An important note is that you should never test anything without an articulable reason, at that point you're just guessing instead of troubleshooting
I will always try to hear someone out if they have good advice as long as they genuinely seem like they are trying to be helpful and informative. I don't care what other ideologies they hold.
Love your most recent videos relating to real estate, its not really something i need to know, but i love seeing those videos and seeing that there is honest people out there, that actually cares, and are just waiting to get their prime time.
Hey Louis , the repair thing only applies to domestic products like washing machines and tumble dryers . The wording states "Appliances ". The manufactures will only have to supply repair shops , not individuals . Its a start but not what everyone wanted . The manufacturers talk about liability but you can take a washing machine apart and electrocute yourself without access to parts so that is a nonsense. There was something in the article about the fact that some products break when just out of warranty , theres a surprise . One little chip with a countdown timer built in and away you go

Just an update on the repair bill they are working on in the EU right now. It is intended to make devices repairable at all and make spare parts available at all. Sadly I think it means it is sufficient for the vendor to have spare parts available for their products and their repair facilities. There is one common issue on that 2012 15", the chip that provides power to the GPU comes desoldered from the board, and then when intensive tasks occur, then the Macbook will shutdown.

am I missing something, or that jumper wire is completely unnecessary? the diode package has two diodes inside sharing the output, and their inputs are just commoned together to increase the current capacity, as you can clearly see both on the schematics and on the board itself during the first try. It was enough to just put a solder blob between the pins or run a couple millimeters of wire.
