What do you do about cheapies that are hyped, most of which will not be on sampling sites? That's coming from someone with over 200 frags, as if to say I’d like to think I’m pretty well aware of the heavy hitter decant sites. For example, almost impossible to sample Missoni Wave, Tommy Now and Afnan 9pm…all which are no brainer blind buys, imo.
Admittedly I did not blind buy Suavage elixer, but it was the first Suvage I ever sampled at fragrance stores or smelled when I started my collecting journey. It was an immediate love and ever since then I have been just adding to my collection
Hey Ash! I've been a fan for a while and I think you should start a new series where you pick a fragrance line (ex. Eros) and then let us know the best clone for each fragrance in that line (ex. EDT, EDP, P, and Flame). You could get a ton of videos out of that lol, and for houses without lines such as PDM, you could just go over all of them in one video, or break them up how you see fit. Thought you might want some new video ideas that we would all of love to see!
Yeah Pure XS is such a gem, love the fragrance and you are the only one that has compared it to Victory and i agree 100 % since they both seem really close to me. I infact like Pure XS better than Victory, however the ladies prefer Victory more
Blind buying any PDM fragrances at their prices (even if at an online discounter) is crazy, but Herod is a beast! it is definitely in my top 5 PDM fragrances

You have to try the new spice bomb then. Don't fret in the opening, smells a bit like a sweet ombre leather l, but dries down to this sweet tobacco vanilla. 1st impression it's amazing! Got a complement wearing a spray or two from Dillards.
I do have one problem Ash. My smell-o-vision is broken. I must blind buy!!!!!!!! and due to your excellent channel I have been able to buy many great fragrances - blind. I gotta say, Lattafa Asad Zanzibar could be one of my favorites (if you like that powdery vanilla base, I love it)
My best blind buy is Prada Lhomme. My best non-blind buy is Prada Lhomme. My favorite fragrance is Prada Lhomme. What gets me the most compliments from beautiful, classy women? Prada Lhomme. What am I wearing now? 5 diffrent fragrances that I just unboxed and sprayed on different spots on my arms to try out. I wish I would have just sprayed on Prada Lhomme.
The worst blind buy for me was PDM Sedley. I was really disappointed after all the hype even though I bought it at a discount. 2.5oz for $120 I could have bought a full 100ml fragrance I already knew I liked for that price. Nothing but negative reactions from the women in my life that have smelled it too. I definitely recommend anyone samples this before buying

If PDM Herod is a little out of your price range, Alexandria Fragrances Arabian Horse is a stellar clone, and i think it out performs Herod by miles. One of my favorite winter frags.

The way I buy my fragrances is by first buying samples. If someone stops me or compliments me over it, I buy it. I bought percival in the parking lot of a home depot after being stopped by two people in the same hour because of it
I've tried fragrances at the store and later didn't care as much for them. Now I try to sample two or three times before dropping big bucks on niche houses.
I think it's time for you to do a video about maceration vs. maturation. Help clear up the confusion that continues to spread throughout the fragrance community.
Did a blind buy at the airport duty free shop. Bought the Eau De Parfum 200ml of Acqua di Gio Profondo. Thought it was the new Parfum (Profumo repackaged). I don't like it at all and I'm stuck with it 😂😂😂
I hated it initially; returned it and rebought it later. 4 200ml bottles later and a compliment beast. I get even better reactions with 4 sprays behind my head during chilly winter days.

My first blind buy was Aventus, I like the scent but it only lasts for 4 hours. Now I'm at 50 fragrances and I've blind bought every single one of them. Only 3 fragrances I didn't like: Coach for men , SWY Absolutly and Halloween man x

Most of my buys have been blind over the years. I usually pick well, but there are a few popular fragrances I bought blind that I don’t like. Wanted By Night did not agree with me, I hadn’t used it in 7-8 months sprayed it a week ago and perhaps I may give it another shot now. A*Men Mugler I just don’t like it at all. CNDIM I’ve owned two bottles both gave me headaches. First bottle was stolen by looters while I wa evacuated for a Hurricane. I bought a new bottle but it gave the same headache effects 3 years later it’s still that way. Most recent purchase CNDIM Limited Edition is much better. My two Favorite blind buys YSL Y EDP, & I might get some hate but Fragrance One Date. I love that juice.

PS: For example, in 2014 I received a sample of Escentric Molecules Escentric 01. But due to the bottles all looking the same then bought Molecule 01. Which immediately became my signature scent (till about 2 years ago, after unfortunately being reformulated, probably due to different oil 😌). And a few years ago I thought (the original) JPG Le Male came up with another limited edition bottle, which back home turned out to be the then just brandnew Le Parfum.
Nitro Red is the worst blind buy I've ever made. That fragrance is the most overrated/overhyped fragrance of all-time. Hawas was by far the best blind buy I've made. Versace Eros is second best for me.

Fresh fragrances which use natural essential oils can go bad. Happened with ADG Profundo tester I bought used, probably was stored horribly. Cheapies rarely go bad because they are made from aroma chemicals.
@@esrealwilleatit8574 that's the best thing you can do. Those who you don't use that often you can put back in box. I also tape small 15ml miniature bottles because they are evaporating through atomizer. Some bigger bottles without tight seal can also leak, evaporate over time.

I gave an entire bottle of Sauvage away to a complete stranger just to get it out of my house. I tried wearing it but I could not stand the after smell the next morning. I will never buy another Sauvage, it was that much of a turn off for me.
I also blind bought everything on this list. Most of them were great, but Victory, Enigma/Creation-E and Man X were all massive failures for me. They were revolting on my skin. I don't do blind buys anymore. It wastes too much money.
For anyone into fragrances, better move/travel to smell fancy stuff before blind-buying any fancy stuff. Any Roja or in fact any niche fragrance in a list of "recommended blind buys" is really absurd. Move/travel to smell them first.

My opinion: If Sauvage Elixir was released from Dior as a standalone fragrance under a different name, it would have crashed.
