    Premium price is relative. I started going down the drift rabbit hole. Those dudes LOVE their futaba, 4pm is entry level, 7px, mid, and 10 what everyone recommends to "spring" for. This thing is priced in 4pm territory, more channels than a 7px, and easier to use and more options than the 10px.
    And then receivers are reasonable and they have micros!
    It's a steal IMO.
    You ever find that thumb steer thingy? I need one now.

    • @2fmrc
      @2fmrc  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I totally agree! Most people see a $300 radio and think it’s nuts. I see this thing at $300 and think it’s a steal lol

      @@2fmrc dude for real. Futaba is wonderful, but surpassing xmax pricing for a transmitter that I'm not doing crazy ass helicopter water balloon dropping builds with is Insanity. Unless I had it. But I don't.

    The costs of the receivers are awesome! Makes it easier to transition over from other systems.

    • @2fmrc
      @2fmrc  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes!!! That’s been a hold up for me. Didn’t want to buy 30-40 receivers at $30 each lol. Still gonna take awhile to get everything switched over but I think now I’ll make the switch.

    Got my micro reciever here for my hardpark dementor ss build. Already using my rc4gs radio in my fcx24 with the 2 speed and rear steer.

    I like it a lot but at the same time I like to bring out a couple different cars with me and my children and be able to test a couple different cars and have my kids to play with them you know and obviously you're not going to give that type of remote to a child I guess it could work because you can just shut one car off and then hook up to the other one what's their receiver look like

    That’s fancy, Nancy! It’s also a good way to blow my RC budget BUT it does have more than all the bells and whistles. Very nice radio is always worth it.

    Everything is amazing about it, except the latency. It's a great crawling and bashing radio, not so good for racing.

    • @2fmrc
      @2fmrc  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I kinda wondered about that. Since I don’t do much racing anymore I wasn’t really worried about it but thought it may be an issue.

    the receivers matching was the biggest selling point to me then the fact it has esc mixing tank mixing etc was just icing on the cake as on my moa crawler i can have front dig rear dig and selectable od on the fly

    The radio looks like a late 60s muscle car with a modern drivetrain. Super slick radio.

    I really wish someone would release a sub $100 transmitter with a return-to-center thumb wheel for rear steer...

    Thanks for this review. I still can't decide between this Radiolink RC8X and the Flysky Noble NB4.
    Everything seems (to me) better on the Flysky : design, bigger battery, lower size, easy to read screen, upper and lower blocks are aluminium and not plastic, and lower price...
    BUT : the only rock in the Flysky shoe is its 20 models only memory. 200 for the RC8X : a big advantage.🤔

    Anyone running into burning out the micro receivers running 8.4V to the servos?

    I've been thinking about this amazing transmitter since it first came out last winter to replace my 4PM and TQ\TQI radios in most of my RC's. I was originally looking into a Spektrum DX5C since a few of the cars i want come with spektrum radio systems. But i wanted a radio that had a built in gyro, low cost receiver options and looked very premium and not some cheapo. And this RC8X fits that bill it's just a little pricy to get into at first but it should save me quite a bit of cash in the near future. Thanks for the informative video.

    I have a 4gs and a 6gs. What I like about the 8x is the lack of the hard antenna sticking up and it just looks better. It's quite spendy compared though.

  • @rudebuddha4895
    @rudebuddha4895 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Wow this is nice. I have a bunch of Spektrum stuff since I recently switched for air to ground. I don't know why but Spektrum seems to be asleep at the wheel when it comes to high end controllers IMO..

    Great video! I’m digging my Flysky noble, but the cost of the micro receivers are crazy. Do you know if the radio link offers a smilier layout to the Flysky GT5, meaning the pins are parallel to the board vs oriented at 90 degrees to the board (like the one you showed in the video)?

    Man I was hoping you would end up doing a review on this transmitter!!!! I have something similiar its a Wfly x9. Pretty much has the same feature except for the fpv oh and that sick ass scrreen. I got it of Ali for like $160 but ive been looking at getting that one just hadnt seen a good review. Great job.

    I was starting to look at this because i was thinking about getting a MOA and need the mixer. But carrying a huge thing with a screen along in the wild, i dont know. My 24 and 18s run with the cheapo RTR or a 30 bucks 4 channel i dont mind to lose or drop.

      I will say mine has been insanely tough! I actually left it on the tailgate of the truck one night when unloading RCs. Came out the next mrng and it was sitting there soaking wet (it poured that night) and the thing has still been working for about 8 months since. I was sure it was done lol

    This is on my list to get. I love the radiolink rc6gs I got. The range is unbelievable, I do FPV in my RC cars and sit on my porch and drive my cars all around, I can reach 4 and 5 block away with it. I thank I ca get more but I lose FPV that fare. Great video, I think I will move it up on the list a bit lol.

    I picked up the RC8X a little over a month ago (my first RadioLink) and its been phenomenal, eventually I will be swapping everything over to it expect a few rigs that will stay with my NB4. while the GT5 has served my well I definitely wont miss it.

    • @theflyinggrip
      @theflyinggrip ปีที่แล้ว

      What about the nb4 is gonna keep those vehicles on it? How does the brightness of the radiolink compare to the nb4(hard to see outdoors)? Trying to pick between the nb4 pro and rc8x. Thx!

  • @payneja
    @payneja ปีที่แล้ว

    Great radio, but 4 channel micro receiver is only capable of pushing 6V. That eliminates a higher rated BEC and getting the full potential from a majority of the aftermarket servos that are able to handle 8.4V. I reached out to Radiolink to see if they could release a 4 channel micro receiver that can handle more volts. Until then, I have to stick with my Flysky GT5 or Furitek Avatar or decase their existing 6 channel. It would also be great to see someone come to market with a 2 channel micro receiver (90% of my rigs only use 2 channels). Would be awesome to have the option!

    • @2fmrc
      @2fmrc  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m running the micro receiver in a 1/10 with a ShiftRC s2.0 at 8.4v and it’s been fine. Running 7.4v on most of my small crawlers with them. Just cause I rarely need anymore with a good servo. No issues yet and the servos rip lol

    • @payneja
      @payneja ปีที่แล้ว

      @@2fmrc thanks for the reply! I have burned out two micro receivers with a Furitek Lizard Ultimate and NSDRC RS100 at 8.4V. Bumped it down to 5V and no issues. May try and increase to 7.4V and see what happens.

    The TX/RX being too close together when you turn them on make it not connect. Have to hold them a little more apart

    • @2fmrc
      @2fmrc  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah pretty crazy that we have that issue in 2023 lol. This transmitter has more issues like that than most I’ve used. I love it for the most part but sometimes I’m amazed by the simple things that can go wrong with it lol

    • @TheAmericanUhate
      @TheAmericanUhate 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @2fmrc I've had mine for about 2 weeks and mess with it again every few days. So much to learn and figure out that I just keep putting it off. Trying to watch some videos to get inspired to mess with it again. It is an awesome radio, just overwhelming when I'm use to simple radios 😆

      Haha! Definitely a tough price but actually pretty budget friendly compared to some of the futabas and stuff it competes with.
