  • In this video, we dive into my opinions on the best remote controller you can buy right now for use with a four-wheel steer RC crawler! Whether you just bought an Axial Capra 4WS RTR in the box or you’re building your own G-Speed G-SHOT, this video will go through my thoughts on the most important aspects of a remote controller for a 4WS rig, and why I personally use the FlySky FS-GT5 and think it’s the best option right now for your four-wheel steering endevours.

I know Logan comps with it. But it’s good they did that. If your comping for time you don’t want to sit there and try to guess your rear wheels position or try to center it at zero the best you can. Turning a potentiometer trim knob.
-like driving with a trim knob only😂.
-makes sense to have 25% then 100% think a lot guys set their radios up like that. At least for the rtr they did not mix the one channel with two servos that’s dumb and still allows you to steer the rear only if needed. Kind of like complaining about sub par servos well yes it’s an rtr.
Like your channel rtr complaints are ah not necessary. Complain about the sloppy dig on the Capra mechanism now you’ve got one.
Trying to not justify poor purchases like a radio with a HOBBY idk. Why don’t we quit buying axial traxxas and vanquish and just buy idk $150 knock off scx10 clones off Amazon.
-I sound like a spektrum fanboy well idk. It was cheaper then futaba when I bought my first dx4c in 2015 and still works great, wasn’t total bottom of the barrel. It’s been soaked spilled in beverages rain storms. My scroll knob is completely broken of and have to use sharp object on the dial🤣.
No anger here just sharing another perspective thanks for the content happy new year.

Cheers man, I appreciate the feedback! Haha it’s all in good fun, I definitely take no offense to your opinion 🤘🏼 I certainly don’t want anyone to think im giving expert advice-I’m learning along like any other newbie in the hobby. I actually have no quarrels with the Spektrum stuff besides the high price tag, but you’re absolutely right-we’re much further in at this point than is worth complaining about the price tag too much. I do have to say, I much prefer driving the rear steer on a knob rather than on steps. I feel I have much more fine control and don’t get knocked off the rock nearly as much with the knob as I do when trying to step between 1/4 or even 1/8 steps which jolt the whole buggy, especially with even slightly higher than stock torque servos. But again, mine is just my own opinion! Hope you’re having a fantastic holidays my friend-thanks for sharing!! 🙏🏼🤙🏼

@@highnoonhobby yessir! I recently bought a used redcat Everest 10 from a local old RC head around here for $75 ( lots of 55+ communities around me, cool to see older dudes still rippin RC 😆 ) with the rear steer kit already installed but he wouldn’t let the spektrum rugged controller for that price, understandably. So I ended up buying a cheap knockoff from Amazon just to test it out and it has all the channels I need, including two potentiometer ( learned that from you 🤣)knobs on Chan 5 & 6 , plus Chan 4 has a 3 way switch right where your thumb sits so I can run the rear steer from any one of those ! I’ve had stampedes and rustlers for years me and my friends love bash sessions, but we’re getting into crawling now and this Everest is a perfect starter for me. Piled up some rocks on my yard to start off with ( no natural rock piles here in central FL like I’ve seen in your videos ) and I plan on hitting some of the courses around here..I already found out how useful the rws is in tight spots. super excited tho!

Hey Alec, the one thing I do like about the Gt5 is that it is pretty small feeling in my hands. But I do think my Radiolink is much better in the ergonomics of where they placed the know for my rear steer set up. I can use my thumb on my hand that holds the radio to turn the rear steer dial. That way I can still use my free hand to steer the front axle, since I can't do a 1 hand steer cause of my tiny thumbs! Lol.

Yeah I like the radiolink rc6gs over the flysky for this. It has that VR side knob, with a 3d printed wheel on it, it's almost perfect to rear steer with the left hand while driving with the right. As far as functionality, it beats the flysky by far as well. Can program any channel, dual rates, channel mixing, etc.. I have one on my phoenix, it runs 2wd, front wheel drive, 4wd, overdrive, neutral, lights on/off, winch, and it takes anything from 2s to 4s. Have a 2s lipo with 4000mah in it now. Sure it's older looking, not as pretty, but it works 100% and is in the same budget price range as your flysky.
