James Dixon i never thought I'd say it but in this match i see his argument about his being too real as he always says. as far as i can tell he lost because the other guy spent more time on top. but he wound up there because Nate pulled guard...not because he took Nate down. so if Nate never pulled guard and let the 2 of them walk in circles the entire match it would have been a draw? akbari did nothing at all the entire match besides have guard pulled on him and unsuccessfully attempt to pass guard. he was clearly the victim in this fight...had no say in anything that happened but still won

djk jui jitsu scoring doesn't work the way ufc scoring does. Top control doesn't matter. Haven't had a competition in a while but sure its two points for a sweep to a dominate position ie side control halfgaurd or mount along with the added points 3 ( not sure if its 3 or 4) of getting the mount and holding it for 3 seconds and for certain 4 points for taking the back position. If you attempt a submission but cannot complete it you get an advantage which usually only counts if both fighters are tied in points or have no points at all. Nates opponent attempted a heel hook but lost it which gave him an advantage putting him in the lead and since Nate could not sweep him or take him down (pulling guard doesn't get any points) he had no points therefore giving his opponent the win

Ppl saying he’s a sore loser but there’s a difference between someone who attempts to get by and someone who’s trained to go for the kill. I mean would u get mad if u was tryna buy a candy bar but the dude wouldn’t get off the phone to do business? I’m sure u would. Same thing. All final days of matches get clogged with guys who “jus try to get by” rather then guys who enforce their purpose for being there. Makes for a lot of boring finals...it’s as simple as this, if u don’t take chances then u MAY get a bit further. But , if u don’t take chances you’ll never be a champion period. Nate was willing to put it out there, this guy wasn’t !

SPORTSMANSHIP GOES DEEPER THAN A HANDSHAKE RESPECT IS EARNED BEFORE A HAND IS SHOOK TO A WELL EARNED WINNER. (Just my opinion). TAKE MUCH SKILL TO RIDE THE CLOCK. NATE WAS NOT SHOWING POOR SPORTMANSHIP he kept his kool Mate Not shaking his hand in the end way his way of getting his message across how he felt about the way he won.

It's because the other guy rode the clock and won by stalling after he had got a point up, by leg sweep and running away. In my opinion Nate felt like the guy is a pussy who didn't beat him, he only played the rules. Things are better these days with EBI rules which most tournaments now use.

Judging is whats shitty. Nate is the only reason there was action. The other guy would not make contact until Nate would. Even in there UFC fights Nate and Nick Will move forward because the person they're fighting is doing nothing but defense.they need to start judging stuff though people are moving forward trying to actually fight. Not this bullshit they play defense, yeah they end up on top position but they are just defending submissions the whole time. Or in the UFC running and trying not to Shit their pants.
