    Hi All, Thank you to everybody that showed an interest in my Vossen wheels. I can confirm that they have now been sold. I do have a set of Matt Black 20" Cades Hera's almost brand new that were only used for 2 months, (about 1000 miles) Flawless condition with no signs of any wear. See this video for full details... th-cam.com/video/hmmC6sLiWAY/w-d-xo.html

    Had the same issues scraping and sat on the tyres when I went lower. I didn’t go air but dropped on the So Low bilstein 120mm drop coilovers. I was running 20s on 10J’s with 275/40/20. Luckily I’ve managed to get away with changing the tyres to 255/35/20 to still get the slammed look in the arches. 8.5 - 9j would probably be ur best option on 19s running 225 or 235 width on 35 profiles with ET35 offset. It’s trial and error at a big price. Pity about the Vossens - hope u get a good resale on those as they are as u say one of the best looking wheel! Looking forward to part 2 👍🏻

      Thanks Lee :-) thanks for all your tips too! the demo wheel they sent me was a 9J 20" with a 255/35/20 so its still got a decent amount of rubber on it. playing with the spacers I will be running a brand new Vossen wheel on ET35 with some minor plastic mods inside the arches :-)

    Fantastic Steve. I’m exactly the same as you were. I lowered mine 50 mm with H & R springs, and at the time I thought that was going to be really low considering most were opting for 30 or 40 mm. I look at my van now and it just doesn’t look that low, it just looks like it’s not on stilts anymore! Air ride is a bit out of my budget but I’m certainly going for some coulovers soon, and I’m going to wind it down a lot more. You’re van is looking great though, and keep the content coming, it’s keeping me sane during these tough times! Take care mate

A decent set of coil overs would have suited me just fine but using my van to visit different country’s and some slopey parts of the UK I would never have gotten fully away with it at the front. But it’s a decent wedge to spend for adjustable ride height at the touch of a button 🤣. Happy Easter buddy 🤙

    Hi Steve, I’ve just been reading some of the other comments. For tyre choice you’re going to be very limited for a t32 in a 255/35/20. I was struggling for my t28. The only ones I could find (I needed min of 99) were Haida xl. They are 102 which is the min you’ll require for T32. Only other option would be to go for a 245/40. Loads more choice, and only a tiny bit more rubber. Sorry you probably know all this, just my two pennies worth! Take care bud🤙🏻

    • @SteveField
      @SteveField  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      GDub Camper Not at all buddy! I really appreciate all the feedback and knowledge possible 👌. I am def no expert in the tyre department which is why I will always talk to the guys at Wheelbase and Vossen but I love the fact that this channel can be used for this type of content & info. Your comments will not only help me but others too 😊. Really appreciate it. Wheels are hopefully on a plane somewhere but the rubber is coming from this country so going to talk to wheelbase today about some higher rated rubber.
      One thing I can say is this van is only run by me at present and I keep the stock wheels encase of selling (never going to happen 😳) or the need to load the van with the extra weight it can carry... that’s not to say I would run tyre inadequate but I may not need to take them as high as needed to carry the extra 3/4 tone that it’s built for. What are your thoughts? 🧐

    • @G__gtbde
      @G__gtbde 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Steve I totally agree that you’ll never be pulling a full load and I was the same. I bet many transporter owners carry nowhere near the max load, even tradesmen. Camping gear, kombi triple seat and bed system in mine and that’s it. My only concern is insurance companies. I’m not sure where we’d stand in the event of an accident with underrated tyres with or without a full load. Maybe I’m just a bit paranoid Steve but insurance companies would probably look for anything to avoid a hefty payout. I wish you all the success in your search mate. I love these vans and it’s a great hobby but it’s a proper minefield at times haha 😂. Love the channel Steve and I’m looking forward to future posts. Take care, Graham 🤙🏻

    • @SteveField
      @SteveField  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Graham, very wise to keep insurance in mind! I totally agree. It is very limited what tyre you can get on a 255 x35.

      Yes I did contemplate this but my offsets are still wrong. rear wheels are 10.5 with ET42 and it would have to camber too much for what i am looking for so best they go to a new home and I get a better fitment for the tucked. What offset & size and tyre combo did you run buddy??

      I had ABP fitted to mine and to be fair it rode no different to the previous B14s I had on. I just got wary of the possibility of making the van more unreliable. Hi Steve! Can you tell me why you went for AR tuning as the installers of your air suspension? Are you able to let me know how much it was. @SteveField  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Buddy, Yes I went to AR myself as a few of the folks i know well had used Lee & Adam at AR Tuning for this type of work and they had installed many systems so always a reassuring prospect. mine was installed really well and at the time the system set me back £5650 installed. I do also know that Plush are very good that friends of mine have had Air installed and they are much closer and also the Lowdown Transporter Lads are really well set up but they are based up north too so possibly not your closest option. only issue I've had to report is my control panel has failed and I need a new one but the system operates via my phone 100%

    • @SteveField
      @SteveField  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Andy Banks it’s a smokey path as some small differences between vans and offsets and then the Airride system you choose itself will differ in aired out height. I am happy to share my set up as I spent a lot of time getting it right👍.
      My vans a T32 LWB for starters and the Airride set up I’ve gone with is. ABP 3P with airlift management and on this I can get my 20” rims to fit which are ET35 offset front and rear 9” wide using a 255/35/20 tyre on the rear and. 245/35/20 on the front. This works full air out with only minor trim to the plastic inner arch but no wing mods needed👍. Hope that is of some help buddy.

    Would rolling the arches help ?

    • @SteveField
      @SteveField  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It would for def! You could also trim some of the rear plastics away too for more room under there but I wanted to reframe from doing these and find the balance 🤙

  • @paulthompson5416
    @paulthompson5416 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    🤦🏼‍♂️ Flip me I'd never have guessed there would have been wheel issues,
    But it make sense because the wheels are now tucked into the arches.

      I know rite, this is why I thought this video would be helpful to the masses as I couldn't find anything like it when I was researching.

    What about clearance on the fronts for steering?

    • @SteveField
      @SteveField  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Diesel Bushcraft good question. Will be better covered in part 2 but as long as your wheel & tyre choice will allow you to put on
      Lock to lock when in
      “Preset ride height”. Otherwise known as your normal driving height then clearance won’t be an issue with the wing. Only time you would air out completely is when you are parked up on
      On flat with the wheels straight. 👌

    Hi Steve
    Lowered my T6 by 40mm & put 275/40 R20 wheels & tyres on . When I pull a turn on full lock the wheels rub on the inside , what would you suggest to stop this
    Thanks in advance
    Dominic

    • @SteveField
      @SteveField  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Dominic. Thanks for your comment. In my experience the only way you get away with a 275/40/20 in the turn lock is if the wheel has a higher offset such as ET40. Anything below normally will rub unless you run 275/35/20. I was able to run this with a 50mm drop before I went to air and had no issues at all lock to lock. The wheels were ET 35. As a cheep resolution to your you could run a 5mm wheel spacer but for many reasons I personally hate spacers. It’s a real pain if you take the wheels off regularly. But if swooping you’re tyre size is just out the question this might be your fix👍

    • @TheDominic10000
      @TheDominic10000 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Steve Field thanks Steve , Looks like wheel spacers then , didn’t realise a 5mm. Spacer would be enough but I’ll go down that route
      Many thanks for your help
      Dom

    • @SteveField
      @SteveField  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      5mm should do it. And subtle enough to not need to do all four wheels. Do you know what offset you are running?

    • @TheDominic10000
      @TheDominic10000 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Steve Field
      Hi Steve just looked it up , ET40 offset

    • @SteveField
      @SteveField  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cool. Ok. I would then say to try the 5mm’s spacers on the front and you should get the clearance then. When you run a 35 profile on a 275 tyre you get about 9mm less height and a very slight sidewall stretch which suits your wheel wells better but upside you have a little more rubber on you ride for the poorer roads. 👍
