    Another good video Steve. Glad I wasn't the only one questioning you on social media. Mine is all bought and being fitted mid December. With regard to your 4 wheel alignment. as far as I'm aware the camber at the rear can not be adjusted as standard did you get the aftermarket bushes to allow for camber adjustment?

    • @SteveField
      @SteveField  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      🙌Thanks buddy, ah no plenty of questions from many subscribers and always happy to help👍. (Where I can). Great news that you have bought a system👍. I bet you can’t wait to have it fitted😎
      The 4 wheel alignment really only compliments the toe in that you get when you lower the vehicle that much and that’s what was killing my tyres... it basic meant that by not aligning to my new driving height I was scrubbing tyres every mile I clocked up. Highly recommend getting it done once you have decided on your daily driving height 👍

    @steve. Did you have the arches cut out when you had your air ride fitted. If you don’t want the bump stops etc cut out will airride still fit? Just not go as low?

    I got on order T6.1 lwb 4motion to be converted to campervan, ready in the spring. going to get air suspension but after reading all the comments about vb air suspension that the company fit, am having doubts, as I don't think it will go low enough. I have followed your videos 👍 and prefer what you have done, air all out for safety and for me get it in the garage, what is height measurement now when all out.
    Keep up the good work.
    Gary 👍

    • @SteveField
      @SteveField  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Gary Sounds very nice van dude! exciting times.
      Yes VB air will only air down to something like a 60mm lowered Van fully airred out but is far more comfortable at the raised attitudes so Airlift probably better for you. I am not sure what the van height is now airred out I would have to check it but if you are on insta send me your insta detals and I will forward you an useful image..👍

  • @scottcyoung

    First thing I'm going to do next year is put air suspension on my T6. I'll be in position to buy T6, probably SWB DSG, no older than 2016. T32 150. I'm expecting to pay between 30 and 30k. If you're reading this.. your T6 is 2018, was it a panel van or Kombi? If it was a panel van, how come you didn't get a Kombi if you wanted windows? 🤔

    • @SteveField
      @SteveField  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Scott Hope you find your perfect project van! Mine is in fact a factory Kombi, I have just added the 3rd row glass to let light into the rear when we are using it.👍👍

    Awryt mate, did you have to get any modifications to your inner arches?

    • @SteveField
      @SteveField  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The only inner arch mod is the letterbox cut out to the plastics in the top of the front arch. It’s in the fitting guides to be done but other than that all inners are still on the van and intact👍

    Been very interested in your videos about this as I’m likely to be going down this road too. Really helpful thanks. Currently on B14s, fairly low but not slammed, and the range of height yours has now looks just what I’m looking for.
    One question though, when it’s at full height for rough roads, how does it handle pot holes? Does it crash and bang cos there’s so much pressure in to raise it up? I’m looking for being able to drive on badly surfaced forestry roads etc when camping.

    • @SteveField
      @SteveField  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks buddy ☺️. The van is not best suited to driving fully aired up as your rite it offers a hard rebound effect which is not good for prolonged driving. Absolutely fine for an occasional lead in driveway but just wouldn’t be any good for off road style use. The VB air is better suited as it works more or less the opposite way around.

    • @HiruS22
      @HiruS22 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SteveField Thanks, the only problem is that VB doesn’t really go low enough for every day driving for me. Guess I want what can’t have. Decisions decisions...

      @@martincook6556 Only a little section is trimmed in the top of the front arch liner, nothing from the rear arch so at least 90 percent of my plastics are intact. I do think they have to trim the bump stop though! i think it was so the bags can be seated properly but i am not 100% I could be wrong on that!
