  • Cumberland Island is about the size of Manhattan but has hardly any residents. How did it manage to retain its natural beauty? How did the wild horses get there? What is its connection to the family of Thomas Carnegie and to John F. Kennedy, Jr.?

I'm not sure if it is identical but I am 99% sure that's the photo I took of the horse grazing at Dungeness. Awesome! Cumberland is my favorite place to camp. Great Video!

On a school field trip there we stayed a few nights and I remember nicknaming a gray horse Stormfur after a warrior cats character. I was in the fifth grade then.

The island is very beautiful, but the horses are starving and sick. I hope someone removes them soon before more of them die.

Well there's Afghanistan, Iraq, police brutality over peaceful occupy protesters, corrupted elections etc etc. These are just the things we see overseas, but since I do not live in the USA i can't really judge. Just letting you know that every time the news comes on theres always something negative about America, war and oil.

Every country has really terrible issues. Americans are more vocal than most about their problems, and to be honest the youth in America is pretty active (there is a heavy protest culture) and the US government also oppresses and hurts its own people. Commenting this on a video about a nice place in the US would be like commenting about violence against Polish immigrants, as well as racism and colonialism on a video about a castle in England. Or commenting about racism and the rise of the far right in Australia on a video about a beautiful hiking route there. Young Americans know that their country is fucked up and feel the stress personally. Trying to erase all joy or hope won’t help anyone improve. Human history is universally horrifying, it’s more than okay to find moments of beauty.

I’m sure the place you are from is beautiful! Most Americans actually idolize Europe and are surprised when anything in their own country is considered cool! I think whatever seems exotic is easier to idolize, the stuff near you is easy to take advantage of. Older American tourists are usually just so happy to be wherever they are visiting and most Americans dream to travel to another country.
