It's sad that this otherwise wonderful episode didn't include a very important chapter in Cumberland's history that included the history of Carol Ruckdeschel. She has given her whole life to this island and fought hard to keep it natural. Her's is an amazing story of dedication and love for this island.
Now in her eighties, she lives in solitude just a few yards from the church Kennedy was married in yet completely ignored by this video.

Agree 💯 with your comment regarding Carol. I met her last week on my visit to Cumberland and thanked her for what she has done for Cumberland Island.

@@janefm9220 Fantastic. Given the opportunity, I would do the same. Have only seen her at a distance thus far.

She is a private person now in her later years. The Park Rangers and tour staff see her regularly and bring food that is not easily found on the island for her to enjoy.

Why did you leave out information on Carol Ruckdeschel? She was in part responsible for half of it becoming a wilderness area. I live about 80 miles south on Anastasia Island, FL which is smaller (14 miles long), but littered with development. Thanks to Carol, much of Cumberland Island will stay "wild".

Carol wasn't and isn't a socialite and could not entertain the producers like those featured here. But even Lucy doesn't get the attention of her heirs here. And no mention of Charles Fraser or the Candlers! And which is it: "Wild" horses or "Feral"? The narrator seems confused on this one. And that 300 person daily limit? Excludes all private visitors
