Then I waited for the tree to grow and bare fruit and I walked threw my apple orchard barefoot in a white linen dress with eyelet handkerchief in my hair and my hand loomed basket, and picked the apples while the sun shined upon my thin, beautiful, natural makeup touched face. Then I skipped joyfully back to the house.
      😒🙄🙄😴
Being a stay at home mom was a necessity for me at one point in my life. And I lasted about 9months before I was like....mmm I think it's time I go back to school so I can get a better job, and back to work. 😂😂
Stay at home moms are built different. 💪 I couldn't do it full-time. Being a working mom is not easy either because it's like having 2 jobs, especially if you're a single parent. But these tradwives are just promoting a lifestyle that is not real or attainable to most women. And it's dangerous when paired with toxic religious doctrine and misogynistic husbands.

I had a sudden urge to end that the way Ricky Gervais would....
And by the time I finished the jumper he was dead. 😂
      ..............
There's a joke he says about he's decided to now become "woke". He's got so trolled for not being woke so he's given in.
He says, take for example the word handicapped... that's no longer acceptable, you should say disabled.
So one day he's at the beach, and he's still being woke. A woman runs up to him and says, help please, my handicapped toddler is drowning. He says, whoa whoa whoa, hang on a minute, don't you mean your _Disabled_ toddler? She says, well yeah, same thing. He says, no, they are not the same, you should say disabled. So he turns to look at the sea, toddler.....floating.....dead.
And he says to the audience, that's what happens when you waste time being woke. 🤣
Your comment reminded me of that. 😅

kind of disagree with some of these comments. nara smith has said she struggles with eczema and that she makes most of her food from scratch which is where her videos started taking off. then, i think she started to make “satire” commentary about how she makes them cornflakes or cheetos from scratch. do i think it is a damaging influence for other moms to see this and compare themselves to them? yes, especially in this economy, it is IMPOSSIBLE to live with two kids if both parents arent working (and dont even get me started on single parents).

No one is forcing you to watch anything. She is merely an entertainer/content creator, that’s her job. She is not trying to be realistic or telling women how to live their life or to make anything from scratch, she is just showing what she loves to do with HER life and you have the freedom to look away. She has said many times that cooking is her love language and she just wants to share that. @@karinecoulombe2560Seems realistic to me. I know many mom's that after giving birth go straight to work or drive hours even when bleeding from their stomachs. All I'm saying is that walking to your kitchen to cook something from scratch and post it online seems pretty reasonable and not that hard to do if your rich. If people feel bad watching her because they aren't rich or have people helping them they should stop. Some people are just a little more mentally sensitive than others.

and these women are promoting false advertisement. if we saw the nannies taking care of their children and their cooks making dinner while they prep their cameras, people's reactions would be much different. the implication isn't that they're having fun 'performing housewivery', the implication is that they're the real deal and that if other women were just as fit, friendly and feminine as them they could have the same lifestyle. it's a lie, and that's insidious. of course people need to be aware that most things online aren't real and learn to be cautious/not so easily affected, but that's ankther issue.

If you don't have time short version: be kinder to yourself and loved ones people are so conditioned to faking less work, rather than accepting the work as natural, and saying the joy comes from that, not a become super parent quick trick. All the work kind of feels like it was worth it, and really the only thing ya wish for knowing they're now whole doctors and lawyers truly is more time.
      Long version:
Yeah the sleepless nights and sometimes babies getting colic is no joke. I think that's actually what broke my cousin and his wife. Damn kids got me with the doe eyes and doing a whole presentation thingy on paper like mine, but as best as they could. Then thanks to being blessed with wonderful parents my self expectations of good parenting kicked in. It's honestly easier I think having an understanding of the work involved in the phrase "don't lie to your kids, should never need to do that." There is no way you can fake true genuine care and attention so it's just mandatory. Man I see all these clowns online arguing about what a real man does and oh my God did you know I actually had four whole kids for a solid two and a half years. Due to unfortunate situation and the ole if you have the resources and got kids not only is it a moral obligation, how do you teach the value of people over money, if you decide to leave two kids to the whims of the foster care system, when all it takes out of you is a bit of effort. I'm not sure what prescription of man is being taught of online but I'm so much more concerned with being able to tell my maker that I gave my best the whole time to live up to my ideal of man that I hold myself up to. Not sure all these kids and their arguments of insults based on raising others kids work like they think they do. They seem to not understand that the relationship you build with the child needs to be one that is separate to the one with the mother, in actions, acts and basically everything. This is usual instinctual honestly but these dudes online moving like odd androids. Arguing on the most asinine irrelevant nonsense unwilling to just literally go attempt communicating respectfully with any girl. Yeah I changed the course of my 20s life for sure but being at 33 and knowing that my nephew in law school, my niece got into medical school, and just got her white coat, so the change of course feels like the route that was best regardless. I can't even equate the thought of trading for a life of meaningless sex that these dudes think I missed out on. There is never anything close to perfection, perfection is in the journey to the beatific vision, or construct of heaven in the soul of man. The joy is not found, it is created between you and your loved ones, over this joint journey taken through time and space, building bits of order against the chaos that is reality. To strive, seek, and never yield, was originally about this, as the patriarch you are not piloting a ship, you are guiding the essence of purpose, which is why you must strive and seek as well. A man cannot speak love into existence, he must show love, since to love is to hold purpose and make sure it never wavers. This is super heavy stuff for a young man, not sure how they expect to harness that kind of gravitas, it was only possible for three men of that age in all history. Alexander the Great, Mehmet II and Genghis Khan. I'm unsure of the surety I hold even today withstanding in the face of that kind of goal and expectation.

He would compare me to women like this, women with nannies, and maids and expected the same. That's not reality. I straight-up REFUSE to watch tradwife content. It is so unrealistic and it is detrimental to the younger generation of women to portray this tradwife lifestyle, because it makes you feel bad when you can't achieve what they are portraying as gracefully as they are portraying. Reminds me of old 50s & 60s commercial advertisements, especially home appliances. You know, where the tradwife is dressed up like that Estee Williams meeting her husband at the door with slippers and a cocktail, then having the dinner table set and dinner served within moments of the husband walking thru the door. They're fakers and I don't like it. I don't like the ideology behind it. It influences ppl like that football player to make speeches discouraging women from pursuing anything other than a homemaker lifestyle. Which is fine for some, but there are a lot of ppl out there that have absolutely no business having children. As a pioneer of the opposition of tradwife ideology, I have been thru it. I still go thru it. I'm still made to feel bad because I didn't breed. Recently, my very own father said to me, "so my line ends with you." Which was a direct comment to me stating that No, I was not going to pursue fertility treatments to have a child because I'm beyond the "breeding" years for a human woman, and my childless husband is fine with that. I could really go on about how I married pretty much out of HS, how I was almost forced into having children by my 1st husband thru sabotage, etc, but it would be a novel. Just know that I've been thru it, and I totally disagree with the archaic ideological traditions that are being forced upon us, women, today. Personally, I will fight with tooth & nail to prevent us from every reverting back to that dead-end lifestyle for women.

She lives off the food bank and people complained she didn't pick healthy food, i had a "aunt" who had to live off the food bank for a while, most food banks won't let you choose your food they just get a small portion from the supermarket to give to people, you are happy that you have food so that you can feed your children (and one of the children has sensory issues so they have difficulties with certain foods).

Omg I hate how much lower income mothers get hated on! Mama C used to get so much hate for filming her cooking videos while her (I believe ex) husband watched their kids yet her meals were both creative and realistic for the average person.
There was a mom on tiktok who owned a trailer home and she showed the gifts she bought for her kids for Christmas (which totaled to $20 I believe) and you'd think she burned her children alive. People called her irresponsible for buying those gifts instead of saving it (because obviously lower income children don't deserve gifts 😤) and it got me so heated. Was 1000000% an overreaction on the internets part and it's disgusting because lower income mothers are the most creative people I've seen and as a childless person, I find their content more helpful. Like who cares about making homemade mozarella? I wanna see how people provide for their families with a budget of $35/week.

I dated a guy for 3 years, I had to be the perfect girlfriend (hair and make up flawless, no body hair, no weight gain, etc.) Had to treat him like a king while I got nothing in return. I was so exhausted from being with him that I broke it off. I met my husband and married him 6 months within meeting, dating and engaged. 7 years later, he has seen me at my worst (4 babies, post natal depression, weight gain after kids, etc) and still looks at me with love and adoration. These trad wife video trends are quite unrealistic, it's equivalent to photoshopped magazines that young teens look up to causing them body image issues, except trad wife videos cause perfectly normal mothers feeling inadequate.

This morning my husband said that his feet were cold, so I went outside into the field, sheered a baby lamb and spun the wool in my loom. I then picked some beetroot in my garden so that I could dye the lambs wool pink; dried the wool in the morning sun and then knitted him some slippers. I just happened to have some soft leather lying around so I cut that into sole shapes and quickly sewed them onto the bottoms of the slippers. I then toasted them on the fire so that he could have them extra warm to wear when he eats his homemade pancakes with elderberry jam. He was thrilled and couldn't believe that I had done all of that before my power yoga session at 8.30am.

I am all for calling out the performative aspect of online Trad Wives, but I have to gently push back against this very modern idea that trad wives who didn't work outside the home were "privileged". I understand that sharecroppers and their wives had difficult lives, but they were actually the exception.
My childhood was in the 1960s and SAHMs were the rule rather than the exception. No one considered themselves "privileged" - we're talking about women married to firefighters, cops, teachers, builders, tradesmen, sales, etc ... living in the vast suburbs. The majority of the husbands didn't have college degrees in those days, yet could afford to buy a house and have a SAHM wife and three children. They were not remotely rich and we would classify them as working class to middle class today.
Sharecroppers were living at poverty level. The women who worked in those days were mostly unmarried single women or married women who were poor. This only began to slowly change in the 1970s.

It’s an ideal scenario when you’re married to money and only possible when it’s not just you running the show! I’d like to actually see some realistic trad wife videos and there are actually plenty out there, they’re far from glamorous. One lady works in the kitchen preparing meals with her kid strapped to her while she cooks. They have 5 kids and they’re lower middle class. She’s actually making realistic meals, she doesn’t look like a model but a mom and the food isn’t something that can’t be made by anyone due to time and cost! Fake, fake, and lots of fakes! Anyone that’s been a SAHM knows it really doesn’t look like that!

What personally annoys me the most with the tradwife influencer are :
    - the lies (like pretending they are spontaneously making cough drops from scratch after they toddler woke up sick)
    - the "holier tha thou" attitude. The "I don't keep cereals in my house" clearly implies "because I think it's bad for kids", and so that they are better than you for cooking breakfast from scratch
    - the fact that they pretend to be a stay at home mom while they actually are a work at home mom
And then what annoys me about the "trad wife movement" in general is that it says that this model is better than any others and that women should be this nurturing, submissive caricature. Like I am all for choice and if a woman truly wants to be a sahm without any external influence (spouse, society...etc) good for them ! I want to support them ! That is a lot of work too often underappreciated! But this shouldn't be a thing that they have to do or feel pressured to do ! Or feel less than if they don't go this route.
Also as a childfree woman by choice it irks me when any movement restrains a woman's role as a mother.
Motherhood can be a beautiful thing for those who want it !
And finally... It's sad that so much cooking content have all this layer of religion / lifestyle agenda etc.
Just make a cooking from scratch channel/ page. But the cooking is not their main content actually. It's like a commercial for a lifestyle filled with lies and false promises.

None of them are from Utah so I wonder if that makes a difference? One of my friends was suddenly dumped by her fiance' so she moved to Utah, met a new guy, and now is happily married. She was certainly no young bride. As a non-Mormon Christian, I also wanted nothing more than to get married, have kids, and be a mom and homemaker. That was my dream job and I got it. My grannie was a 1950s housewife. I've seen pictures and heard stories. It wasn't like this. Even as someone who’s never met a 1950’s housewife, I’m a big ass history nerd and know that in the 1950’s the woman was expected to do ALL the household chores. Especially making sure every room was spotless. I doubt she’d be putting on makeup just to later clean the bathroom, do the laundry, wash the dishes and cook a meal for her kids and husband if he wasn’t at work. I mean I don’t know for sure but who has time to look good when your main concern is doing housework? Not to mention how these influencers cook elaborate meals that take hours don’t at all get interrupted by their kids which I know isn’t true. Kids will bother you to no end until they get what they want, especially food. No kid is just gonna sit and wait for food, especially younger kids who haven’t passed double digits yet.
