I teach at an urban diploma nursing college. I wanted to say thank you for making these videos because the majority of my students are black. I have trouble finding good supplemental NCLEX videos by women of color to offer them, and I want them to have education from women who look like them. Thanks!

I love how you breakdown the answer choices and go over the right and wrong choices. Other nursing videos teach the content via lecture or memory tricks, but don't do nclex style critical thinking questions as a form of teaching. Thats what makes your videos unique. I learn so much from your technique. And as a result, I've become a much better test taker and critical thinker in nursing school :-)

At the 6:15 mark you mention SIADH is when you DON'T have enough ADH (which means you'll pee alot).... isn't SIADH when you have TOO MUCH of it so you retain water (which is why the answer is C.. more water less sodium in return)... DI is when you don't have enough ADH and you end up peeing too much.....

Thank you professor D for you video have been entirely helpful, Although I have a question, concerning ''When caring for a patient admitted with hyponatrima, which action should the nurse take'' I think Administering vasopressin also is a correct answer.. my reason for this is from your initial explanation about hyponatremia in the previous question, You said ADH was low which lead to accumulation of fluid which further dissolve Na+, In this Case of Hyponatremia, Isn't the nurse going to be concern about the decrease Na+ level in this patient? why not administer ADH to above fluid overload, so that the Na+ level is maintained

      I thought the same thing.

@@jessisrael535 Administering ADH will just cause the person to retain MORE fluid and further dilute the sodium which is already low.

@ 25':45" you say that "if less than 35 patient is acidic and more than 45 the patient is metabolic" That confused me a lot because I learned that less than 35 patient is alkaline and more than 45 patient is acidic. Can you please clarify? Thanks!

Hi Prof. D., you are greatly appreciated. I`m glad I found your videos at the right time. I started watching your videos before I started nursing school. My classmates always tell me how proud they are of me! I answer questions instantly and correctly in class and I`m doing so great in my exams. I send most of your vids to my friends and classmates. I`m proud of you! We need more professors like you. Keep educating us. THANK YOU !
