Cathy, I love you, girl! You and your team put out solid content and I have used your videos to pass multiple ATIs. I listen to you in the car, while getting ready, and at school too. The nursing community is so grateful for you and your Level Up RN team!
Little Maggie is 1.3 to 2.1 years old (magnesium). She ate 3.5 to 5 bananas (potassium) and drank 9 to 10.5 oz of milk (calcium). Then she took a 136 to 145 minute nap after swimming in the ocean (sodium)
Hi! I'm sure this comment will get lost in your other comments, but I wanted to thank you so much for everything. I've watched nearly all of your videos in your med-surg series (and some from the peds) thanks to your videos, I was able pass my Pediatric and Adult Med-Surg ATI's. I've spent the past 3 days watching your videos all day and trust me when I say, you saved me! If you are watching these videos for help for your ATI, you are in the right place! Thank you so much again! :)
You are so welcome! Thank you for taking the time to write this very kind comment… and so glad our video helped you pass your ATI exams! Congratulations! Please share a link to our channel with your classmates and friends in nursing school… 😍
Buy a pocket ECG to test instead of just keep on eating bananas. I tested a church member's ECG 3 weeks ago and it showed he had a little too much potassium (mild hyperkaliamia). HE was just taking one banana everyday.
Thank you, doctor, for your posts; they have greatly helped me prepare for my master's degree. I use these videos to memorize quickly because they are very short and summarized.
Thank you so much for all the content you create! Your videos are very clear and concise. Exactly the information I need for my exams. These videos have been a life saver for me, especially being a mom of two. Thank you!
i have my med-surg final tomorrow and this video was so helpful in explaining these electrolytes!!! i have struggled with electrolytes a bit this semester so thank you for this!!!
I’m not sure if anybody brought to your attention but at 6:02 you mentioned that hypercalcemia can also be caused by hypoparathyrodism. I know you meant hypocalcemia but for a newbie might not 😊
I was recently hospitalized with some deficiencies and I'm enjoying your content! I'm not a med student but I'm learning how to take better care of myself and I appreciate you making these videos! I'm one of the few people that really enjoyed that potassium drink they gave me in the emergency room 😂-- they warned me it will be disgusting but I asked for seconds 😛
You really are great at teaching in that I want knok off some years from my age in order to go back to nursing school. Hope when I am reincarnated you will be around to teach me.
Thank you for your kind comment. People of all ages go to nursing school…. If you decide to pursue that path, we are here for you every step of the way!

How to improve intracellular potassium and magnesium
HI. I bought your med-surg flashcards, but i dont see any on electrolytes. Where do I look, so I can follow along. Thank you.
Here is the interactive index for MedSurg: www.leveluprn.com/pages/medical-surgical-study-guide-index
I like it where are you located
I need to get my sodium more down to the middle it's still normal but I want to avoid it going on the high side.
Which foods are rich in magnesium?
My level was 3.3 im have strange nervous issues.
Is that low enough to cause confusion?
“Call 9-11” is how I remember calcium
is there a trick to learning Sodium range?
What card number and deck is this video on? Thank you
This video covers information found in our Medical Surgical Nursing flashcard deck. If you have Edition 3 of our flashcards, you can find this information on cards 70-73. If you have Edition 2 of our flashcards, you can find this information on cards 71-74. Happy studying! :)
