Sorry for the late response. I don't look at my stuff that often. Anyway the CD is called "Guitar Speak" By IRS records. This is an essential CD for any guitar lover includes tracks by Ronnie Montrose, Rick Derringer, Leslie West, and Robby Krieger just to name a few. Glad you enjoyed it!
This has to be my favorite EJ cut. I've been listening to it since i got Guitar Speak ON CASSETTE in the early 90's (yeah, i said it) and it still sounds as fresh as it did 20+ years ago. Of course, that cassette is long gone.
Right with you. I got the Guitar Speak also. I saw Eric in Chicago right after it came out and asked his sound man Richard Mullen if he would play it. He said, "That's old...Eric doesn't play it anymore."
Holy MOLY this is a fat track. I keep coming back to this tune year after year and it's literally gets better each time I listen to it.

I bought it on Vinyl LP recently at a used record store for $2.00!!! Great album and preserved on to CD to prevent the wear and tear of the LP.

I still have that cassette
Bought that CD at World of Music in Munich, when I was living in Germany, circa 1989
So you had the live version then. Cuz this wasn’t on any album. It was an outtake from ah via musicom
Saw EJ play this last Saturday, 02/02/19. He said it was an outtake from Ah Via Musicom. An outtake. Hard to believe.
