    I’ll never get rid of mine. It has a look that no other BM camera can attain. I shoot 12 bit 4:4:4 4K with a FS700R but I still love this little guy.

    Just a reminder, a ND filter and IR cut filter are basic requirements for the super 16 sensor on this camera. Native ISO is 800.

      is there no combined filter glass of variable ND and IT cut in one glass for Panasonic 4/3 lenses today? please advise... I got three great lenses from my gh3 and like to buy either this camera or the p4k one..
      what filter glass would you suggest me to look into?
      thanks for getting back!

    this camera needs a cage or a stabilized lens to smooth out the footy. this camera pairs perfectly with davinci resolve and you can truly get arri looking images out of this thing

    This may still be one of the best camera's for the price point anyone can buy. Loved the video man. I'm a bmpcc 6k shooter myself, and am actively looking to pick one of these up as well. Great channel, I do a lot of the same kinds of videos too. Subbed.

    Dang can’t we all just ask Blackmagic to put this model back into production? Its honestly the smallest camera you’ll find with this good of a color science and the ability to shoot raw. I’m scared mine will be broken one day. Or just let them make it Bmpcc 4k mini.

      @@theearthisbread The Blackmagic is more reliable though. However the latest Magic Lantern version is pretty stable if you set it up correctly and have the proper SD card in it. I think it does up to 5.6k raw. I do prefer the colors of the EOS-M a bit more.

    The Lexar 633x (95 MB/s) works with this camera. Can be found at a local Staples. For real, it’s a hit or miss finding a card that works. You are welcome!
    Also, by far my favorite camera and pairs nicely with my EOS-M (Magic Lantern).

  • @imothy

    you didn't mention you can use stabilized lenses with this I use a panasonic lumix g vario 14-45mm lens and it works pretty nice. Auto focus is a little slow on it, but it does autofocus Mostly I stick with prime lenses and cheap c mount lenses because of the crop factor!

  • @JayBadman

    What’s so crazy I paid 500 for it originally when they had the fire sale

  • @PATASONIC
    @PATASONIC 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You need to use a 16mm lens or less to get steady handheld shots. I use an 8mm lens and it gives you that nice wide-angle look.

  • @gottanikoncamera
    @gottanikoncamera 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    Oh, great-there go the eBay prices for the Pocket OG, lol. I’m buying a backup. I love mine and really like using them with vintage c-mount lenses intended for 16mm movie cameras.
    By modern standards the batt life sucks. But compared to 16mm film cameras where a 100’ load got you less than 4 minutes, it’s plenty. So I shoot it with a film mindset.
    I should add it rolls highlights off so gently because it has a custom dual-gain sensor. It records two data streams at two different EVs. Pretty darn trick.

      Yeah prices have gone ridiculous, even for the cages. I bought one a couple years back for AU$700 with tilta cage kit. Now I'm struggling find one for under AU$1000 body only.

I I’m getting the smallrig attachment for the Sony battery but I need the cord where can I get that. Also it came with a Panasonic lumix 14-140 lens and I’m looking for other lenses or nd filters for this one. Any help would be awesome. Love the video an super excited to start working with this camera.

    Great video! I have always been interested in filmmaking but I can't decide what camera to start with. I had thought about at first something like a DSLR and I have also thought about the Canon M50. I saw this video and was blown away. I don't really have a budget and would love to find something under $1000, (preferably $500 or under). Do you have any recommendations? I know that there isn't a perfect camera. Thanks for any help you can give me.

    • @Pla2es
      @Pla2es 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Do not agree, depends in your kind of shooting. I bought 4 cheap batmax batteries last year, and they last between 25 and 40 minutes recording. Think of them as two or three times more than a 400ft 16mm film magazine (around 13 minutes, if I remember correctly) ;-).
