the first class upgrade is probably hampered somewhat by how good the standard class service is. The train can get busy but I've (not yet) been unable to find a seat when travelling (unlike my experience of LNER or EMR intercity). This is because the new trains are longer/higher capacity in general than what they replaced. Also for a new train, the standard class seats are quite good. The other disadvantage for first class passengers is that the trains often get swapped out for the other subtype of 745 built for Stansted express which don't have any first class or buffet provision. As first class services go, it's of limited value - but I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing, seems like they've put most of their efforts into running a reliable and effective service for everyone. The London-Norwich train was part of the intercity network under BR and was therefore was a locomotive hauled train with quite a high end 1st class. Even in the early days of privatisation my dad recalls being able to order sit down meals with plates and cutlery on named train services ("Broadsman", "East Anglian" and "Norfolkman") but they'd totally died out by the NXEA era. With the new rolling stock, slightly faster journey time and smaller first class area, the service is these days more like a fast commuter train - indeed Thameslink services have similar journey times. Oh and the real benefit of being in first class is actually that you're closest to the ticket barriers at Liverpool Street which is actually a major advantage because there's only like FOUR of them at the end of each platform for an entire 12-coach train! If you're at the back you'll be shuffling at a snail's pace for ages. The real trick is to use Stratford - much faster interchange with tube/elizabeth line there as well
I do like the Greater Anglia new trains and they do look really nice. Plus I used to live near Norwich and Norwich is such a lovely city in East Anglia.
I edit using Davinci Resolve because it's powerful and cheap! The maps are done using Google Earth Studio, which is designed specifically to create animations like that. I have to import the lines and station markers from elsewhere though and animate the fly through manually. It's quite a process but I feel like it's worth it!
@@TravelSoGood last train at night for a 1.5 hour journey. 1st class doesn’t exist so you’ll have to reclaim, half the toilets aren’t working, no tables, no buffet, just blinding lights. Always seems to be that service. Preferred the older rolling 125 stock
@@davidnelson5533there use to be other first class too like on the class 90 ,class 321 and class 360 for me the class 90 is my favourite the seats are too comfortable 😂
Another great video. Do they do a to seat service for those who can’t walk to the cafe bar? E.g mobility aid users? Seems very expensive for a tea, biscuit and slightly quieter area.

Think the new stadler flirts are some fantastic trains, great comfort, great ride quality and a great acceleration. What a train should be

I spent about an hour in Norwich looking around. It was ok. I didn't know it had a castle though, so that was a surprise!
True.
Great series, looking forward to TFW.
You don't wanna miss it :)
I ❤ These Also I've Done This Journey Before From London To Norwich and Back Again On These Trains and They Are Good 👍
Did the on the hour not stop at Chelmsford usually the don’t stop there on the half past service
🙈 spot the deliberate mistake
Cheeky comment for the engagement 🫶
A cheeky reply to say thank you 🙏
Brilliant been waiting for this one. Nice trains shame about the refreshments. Thanks for another brilliant video 😀👍🏿
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video! What do you use to edit and how do you do the route visual thing on google earth?

@@TravelSoGood Thanks
Those wrap sauces mostly end up at the bottom of the wrap 🌯 if they're too thin.
Not if they've been made correctly
@@TravelSoGood they've travelled a long bumpy road to be on that train 😂
Trouble with this route is they sometimes replace the trains with stansted express stock. No first class. No buffet. No tables
Oh, that's not good

Not that I'm aware of. But now that I think about it, I don't think there's even an accessible toilet in the first class area... 🤔
This is funny because I am using greater angler tomorrow for my holiday from Cambridge to Great Yarmouth
Have fun!
@@TravelSoGood I am going to caister for the second year I love the greater angler trains they are so nice and up to date
Kinda feels like a letdown on the refreshments!
Yeah... best sticking to standard class for most people
Greater Anglia’s first class isn’t worth it for any length of journey!
It does keep the unwashed away generally though
