2024 Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe review: New 63 S E Performance puts Audi RS7 and BMW M8 on notice!

The 2024 Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe might have one of the longest model names in Australia, but this large sedan means business. After all, it's a rare standalone model for the Affalterbach brand, which itself is the high-performance arm of the three-pointed star.
So, what's new with the GT 4-Door Coupe? Well, it's a classic case of 'blink and you'll miss it' - no, seriously. Only trainspotters will notice the minor exterior and interior changes. Instead, the big changes - or rather additions - are under the bonnet, where the Audi A7 and BMW 8 Series rival has a new powertrain option.
That's right; the new GT63S E Performance has arrived with plug-in hybrid power - 620kW of it, to be exact. And then there's the 1400Nm of torque - that's not a misprint. In this expert review, CarsGuide Contributing Journalist Andrew Chesterton puts it through its paces.
