On top of it all depression (and suicide) runs in his family and he admitted that he suffers with it too. He posted about it on Twitter (now deleted) that he spent time in the hospital for it and he's trying to get the help he needs, but by the sounds of it, he still has a long way to go.

When Andy took bassist Ashley Purdy into the band, Ashley had Andy, a teenager, sign a contract so Ashley, an adult, that was 12 years older than Andy, owned half of Black Veil Brides. It’s a non expiring contract. And up until November 2019, when he got kicked out, or, “parted ways respectfully,” Ashley had been a predator to young fans in the BVB Army. He was arrested for a DUI (Driving under the influence) he had a little to much alcohol .
There's clearly something going on with Ashley's mental health. Hopefully, he figures it out and gets better but sadly this being public is only going to make it worse. Lets just all wish him a good life and leave him alone for a while.
I understand that when people become famous willingly or unwillingly step into the public eye with more scrutiny then your average person because they are a "role model" or should be. But when situations like this do arise I don't think that they should be put on blast this early. I understand you guys are a news organization but I believe when people are scrutinized like these, it causes more damage then good. They should be the ones to come out and say something before any entertainment media says anything. Or it could be that the police didn't put in the right info cause 1) they get it from the info you give, ur drivers license which is run through the system and also has ur birth date, 2) if the police didn't put in the right info on a report or checked anything right could get charges dropped and things thrown out of court

I get the whole thing with the Scoop Nashville being a local website, but if they are a local website then shouldn't they know the full facts about the story. In the article, they mislabeled with age as 40 which is clearly know as him being only roughtly 35 years old as his birthday is January 28, 1984. My question also is why would a police station give a website full usage of documents? I understand it was after it was released, but they had already know a court date and what his charges were even before any records were released. Wanting to know more on the website, I looked around on others to see if I could find any credentials for Scoop Nashville or another website with the same information, but I found absolutely nothing to inform me about what power they had to obtain records that are supposed to be for the officers at the police station and other legal service personnel to have access to. I'm not trying to drag Scoop Nashville, I just want to know how they have received all this information and why they would mislabel information about a person who we don't even know their side of the story.
I don't know how Scoop Nashville got the info but the police confirmed his birthday as 1/28/79. It's in the police report.
So either something got mislabeled or we were never getting told the truth about this guy. Considering the fact that according to the article this is not the first DUI conviction he has had and that Ashley Purdy isn’t his real name.
