Turns out I had a lot more to say about Google IO 2024! Leave a comment and let me know if I should do more videos like these. It was fun to do some rambling analysis!
your next gen DAW idea made it look way interesting .. i'd like to hear AI mix up randomly posted improvisations from all over the world via some sort of sns structure into unique groovescapes or live AR groove produced by things from our phone's mic to our buds
Definitely more of these. I always love your insight and I liked hearing examples of what you would use some of the features for. I'm not a musician so I like hearing about how the AI can help you improve... Not replace musicians
Did anyone figure out why Marc Rebillet mentioned Hawaii at the beginning of this year's Google I/O? Was he meaning he was from Hawaii? It seemed like he was suggesting he was in Hawaii but I could swear he was in Shoreline theater in California. I asked Google Gemini to explain why he mentioned Hawaii but Gemini didn't know. Asked the Gemini app other questions and interestingly it didn't think internet bandwidth in Hawaii would be a factor in Google not having a campus office in Maui. It said cost of living probably might
Honestly I think he was just joking around. Marc is a musician with a big sense of humor in his stage presence. He was just going with the usual "getting the name of the location you are playing a show wrong" gag.
I just asked Gemini to tell me when the next bus was at the bus stop outside my house and it correctly told me 8 minutes, underneath it showed me a Google map result of a route to a completely different bus stop for another bus route 10 minutes walk away, I asked Gemini why it showed me this bus stop and not the one outside my house, Gemini told me there isn't a bus stop outside my house, I told Gemini that there definitely was I can see it from my house, it apologise and only then showed me the bus stop outside my house. Fun with Gemini.
Oh also, following I/O I've signed up to ai studio and then began using Google Vertex. Wow honestly blown away with the size of uploads supported and then the output.... crazy. I uploaded a 20 page report and created a prompt for how to digest it. I got a long detailed 10 page output. Thus, I've now terminated my anthropic sub and switched to Gemini 1.5
I've found Gemini's answer to be very inaccurate until you tell it it's wrong and it suddenly gives you the correct answer, it's like it knows the correct answer but choses to tell you the incorrect one
I'm very excited for AI in our phones and computers. I'm more excited to see a comparison between what Android does compared to Iphones, or Windows compared to Macs. Very exciting time!!

More videos like this would be awesome. I found it really interesting.

Ok then will do!

This was a good idea for video, if you do more of these following tech announcements I'll watch for sure

Right on. I will make more like them!
I enjoy a good _ramble!_ 🤓
Well you are in luck then! I'm a ramblin' man!
This was a great summary. I tried watching the live I/O stream but was bored out of my mind. I stopped watching it entirely. Thanks for this.
Right on, thank you Wade and good to see you here!
