Thanks Andy! It was great to see you and get to just hang out for a while. I truly appreciate you taking time on a Saturday to go for a ride and have lunch with me.
The roads in West Virginia are awesome!! I have family down there. Never had a chance to ride down there yet. Only drive. I'll have to put those roads on the list!! Very cool that you had two meet ups as well.
Hello there. My brother and I rode down to the mid point of BRP in NC 25 years ago from Michigan and rode 250 all the way from northern WV. We used to love to ride in WV. So many great roads to ride. Over the years, we went to all the great places to see in WV. I was 49 years old back then when we first rode Hy 250. Do I miss those days. Have fun and be safe.
Just pack a pair of undies and stay the night in Harrisonburg or Staunton. Definitely would set an aside an entire day to enjoy it. Yep, Andy is the “real deal”!
Great video! As I was corrected almost immediately on my first trip down Skyline... It's pronounced STANton. 250 is terrific. Also hit 219 and 92 out of Elkins. Could ride that stuff for an entire season and never get bored. Well done
As a local to this area, for future reference, Staunton is pronounced "Stanton" despite having a u in the spelling.. That's how we know who's not from the valley! LOL! Great video of one of my favorite day rides!
Well dang Sean you were close to my back yard. We live about 20 miles from Staunton. I love riding on 250 and 33, they are some of the best roads around here. You should of took 33 from Harrisonburg to Seneca Rock next time. 33 is pretty technical on the VA/WV border area. Glad to see you had a great time, you got some awesome footage of the area 🙂🏍️👍
Didn’t realize you where that close. Staunton is a cool little town. I did ride 33 from Seneca to Harrisonburg. Excellent road. Some is actually sprinkled in the video🤣.
Nice video ! I am ruined, I live not 2 hours from these fantastic roads and ride them a LOT. Oh, by the way, it's Durbin (not Dublin) and train excursions are available there.
Spruce Knob is a cool place in that neck of the woods. If you think that road is fun make the loop around the mountain through Cass WV. You will not be disappointed by that loop.
@@Ucmpigs I pulled a propane tanker to just about every town in WV for about ten years. There's so many great roads! I live in the northern panhandle myself. I'm heading down to Smoke Hole in April to meet up with a bunch of my old Army comrades. Sort of a commemorative annual unit fishing trip. I'll be riding 250 and 92 all the way from Wheeling to just above Seneca Rocks and I don't fish much so I'm planning to ride a couple of hours each day while I'm down there. Hopefully it doesn't rain or snow the whole time? April can be hit or miss in the heart of the Appalachians that time of the year. Safe travels bro!
@@Ucmpigs yes! I never heard it called the hellbender before but that loop down through Webster springs would be a great ride! You will not be disappointed. You're going to be right there skirting really close to snowshoe mountain and Cass railroad. There's no such thing as a boring road in that entire area. It literally ruined me for interstate trucking. I never wanted to see a freeway again after I got used to days delivering loads back in those mountains. It's so bad that after the work changed hands and I didn't have that specific job, I quit driving all together and went to work in the shop.
Well you didn't go hike up Seneca Rock so I'm not coming up there to ride that route... LOL J/k Looked like a very cool route to ride for sure if nothing else to see that town and also the resturant.
Rode Rt 33 last year from Skyline Drive into Seneca Rocks. It was a GREAT road! I don’t recall Yokum’s - guess I’ll just have to go back and ride it again. Just got home from Skyline (again), Blue Ridge, Diamondback and Maggie Valley and I’m ready to head out again. Edit - just checked the map and I did pass Yokum’s - stopped to get a picture of Harper’s Country Store right next door. Gotta go back.
Both 250 and 33 are great rides. Yokum's is okay, but really you should just go a few miles further down on 28 to Judy Gap and stop at Gateway (right at the foot of the road that goes to the top of Spruce Knob), some of the best pies you can find anywhere. Last trip into WV I came over on 250 from VA and made a 50-mile detour just to have lunch at Gateway before heading back down 28 and 97 on the way to New River Gorge. Very roundabout route, totally worth it (starting from southern MD).
Yeah North Carolina and Tennessee roads seem to get all the publicity let’s keep it that way ! 250 & 33 are the best kept secret in motorcycling been doing those roads since 72 on two wheels ! Don’t want those roads to become a tail of the dragon and ruin it for us !
Yeah man, still learning. I have been working on editing. I pay more attention to the sound levels now. Thanks for the constructive criticism. It’s always welcome and thanks for checking it out. Definitely will be more aware!
Fyi, the banjos and deliverance references are pretty disrespectful. Comments and comparisons like that hurt our state and portray a negative false image. This is a great state, with great people, great towns, and great roads. Respect it and enjoy it.
@@wam1388 sorry you feel that way. I didn’t think anyone would be “triggered” by a video thumbnail. It appears you didn’t watch the video because all I do is praise WV on how it’s a great state to ride in…probably the best in the East.
Nice video! I just stumbled on your channel. West Virginia moto content always gets my attention. (Originally from a Elkins) You hit some great spots! Seneca Rocks is amazing! Awesome, awesome, road to ride. Folks, out this one on your list to ride. Thanks for swinging by, and it's always good to see you in the wind.
Thanks for your hospitality Eric! Always a pleasure to get to visit with you. Definitely gonna repeat this ride!
Do Love the Virginias for Their Roads..Tenn as Well ..Thanks For The Ride Along..💯👍
Thanks Dale! I think every state (except Florida😂😂) has their exceptional roads. Thanks for coming along!
Rode this headed to the 2023 Tour of Honor sites in 38 degrees and rain. That was fun. WV girl here. Our roads here are AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow!!! Beast! Definitely awesome riding in WV.
Everyone knows RoadGlide Andy.
Cool dude 😎👍
Yeah he is!
Dude you rode through some beautiful country and got to hang out with some great people! Very awesome my friend!
Thanks Smitty! Yep, good times had. You need to get on that Wing and Fly up here🤣
@@Ucmpigs if I get off the damn turnaround and working 13 days on and one day off I may have to do just that!
Love historical old towns!!!
Me too. Sometimes I don’t even want to know the history. I just want to imagine what it was like.
Very nicely done. 250 is one of my favorite roads. Have not been on a bad part. Thanks for coming up and riding, had a blast.

Definitely! You may need to pull over and let the Harleys pass you😂😂 yeah, always nice to visit with an old friend and a new one.
West Virginia roads are awesome. Even I-79 is nice riding in WV whereas most Interstates are either to busy or kinda dull riding. 😁👍
Absolutely!! I64 across the mountains is awesome!

I did that ride last summer after visiting Blackwater falls and that 100 mile down was just amazing
Absolutely! It’s probably my new favorite ride.
OK, I bookmarked this route... looks like a 500-mile day if I did it in one go - thanks for sharing it!

So many of theose little lost towns there. WV is some great riding. Good times!

Dublin sounds like when I get another camping bike I may have to go and fix that door while I’m there
🤣
So either fill up at Elkins or Staunton

Also the majority of the small towns in West Virginia are either old coal towns or logging towns. Stay safe
