That Highground match was something special to watch live.

That play at 5:04 was kinda nuts lol. Charges the plasma and hits the guy through the cover of the wall, while simultaneously vaulting to the ledge mid air, and then finishes him off. That was sick.

I really hope they add some of these to ranked and HCS. I have my opinions on the pit because it’s practically the same map but the reimagined guardian, lockout, and narrows are so sick.

343 literally hates open spaces and vehicles. you can see how much fun everybody is having playing these maps. space to move around and get an angle instead of getting continously descoped and peppered with fire right off your spawn point. rare to see lucid smile so much when he plays normal ranked.
You say that like it’s completely one-sided with 343 being the only ones who like small maps and a barebones sandbox. When literally the first criticism people had about Forbidden (incorrect imo) was that it was too big for competitive. The truth is that the ranked and comp map rotations are the way they are because theres a big portion of the comp community that preferred it that way. I don’t 100% agree with them but for whatever reason their philosophy won out.
These maps are sick. Especially lock out. Like really sick.

These matches kinda reminded me of early season 1 when the pros hadn’t GA’d the comp sandbox into what we have now. Swords, manglers, all sorts of equipment and power weapons in one map, even fusion coils, just absolute chaos reigning and sandbox mastery determining who comes out on top.
