Ah, those simpler times. My family saved an S&H equivalent, Plaid Stamps, when we summered in Madison, Connecticut. I think my mother got a waffle iron with her book of Plaid Stamps. Wish we still had trading stamps today, but I'm sure COVID-19 would rule them out. Thanks for bringing back this memory!
I Remember my mom taking me to the Green Stamp Store!!! When I was 5 the neighbor boy and I were best friends, and he got a play cash register for his birthday. We decided to play "Green Stamp Store" and stripped his mom's prize bushes of leaves (stamps). I can remember her yelling at us even if it was 55 years ago!!!
I remember saving those stamps after we got them from the neighborhood A&P (no longer exists), don't exactly remember if we redeemed them for something, though.

I remember seeing commercials like this--we didn't do trading stamps in KS, but I saw them when we went on vacation!
My mom had a bunch.

Yeah, but that was back when small kitchen appliances were quality, and built to last
We got some pretty good stuff with green stamps! A blender, an electric blanket, a football, etc.

The prices in 2012 dollars are really outrageous.
In Pittsburgh Thorofare supermarkets and Thrift Drug stores issued green stamps.
in 2022 numbers that blender would cost $439! is that even possible? my family was always pretty broke but we still had a blender!
