      i know that the sairlite one il much more expensive but to you think there is a big difference between the sairlite and the rex 607 ?
      is just that i want to be sure that i making the right choice ...

      Hey djemel, dont worry about the questions it's ok, that's one reason why I put up the videos to help. Um let's see, the sailrite is made alot better then mine and made in the usa, and comes with a warranty thats why it cost so much more, mine is a chinese clone and made in china, but if you buy from a good respected dealer then the machine will be good and run perfectly. I got mine from ebay, but there's a store called goldstartools he sell them like mine but with zigzag feature, with the long 9" work bed for about $399.99 or 344.24 euros, he has a video on youtube about it. th-cam.com/video/WRzaIXdN-SY/w-d-xo.html I bought the power wheel and the stitch length adjuster plate from sailrite separate, the power wheel will slow down the machine and give it more torque. Sailrite machine sell for $800 or 688.50 euros, for me that was to expensive so I look on ebay and got this one, they come in different name like tecsew, familysew, sewstrong, and others but if you need a larger work area then get the 9" bed the regular rex comes in only 7" bed, but It's up to your needs. Hope this helps.

    Johnny, this is not a clone of the Rex, this machine has an extended arm for extra work space (16 1/2" x 7" MACHINE BED SIZE). The Rex has 14 1/2" x 7" The original maker of this type of machine was "The Thompson mini walking foot" . The rest have been copied. Great video on making bags! Wishing you much success.

    • @JohnnyUrbanWoodsmen
      @JohnnyUrbanWoodsmen  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey Dave, Thank you for watching my video. Yes I understand that Thompson is the original maker of these machines but they are no longer made under that brand, what are sold out there are the clones like the rex607, the sailrite (which have exclusive US rights and great machining) hence the price), sewtech, family sew, and the barracuda a long with other brands like mine. My clone is a long bed which measures in at 17-1/2" with a work space of 9" from pillar to needle bar, It's a great work horse and it hasn't failed me yet, I just upgraded it to a industrial sewing table and sever motor for faster sewing and ease of use and it performs even better. I will be making a video about my new table setup soon so stay tune if your interested. Thank you for you kind words.

      @@JohnnyUrbanWoodsmen My Sew Strong RE607ZL (zigzag model) is also awesome. I head a lot of negativity about other brands, but I use my Sew Strong every day going on 5 years now. I don't understand the hype of the SINGER 4411 and others alike, they has no top feed & can only accept normal thread sizes, something people should know before investing. If ever I get the time & the courage I'll upload a video of my Sew Strong zigzag soon hehe... Happy New Year Friend!

      @@davemoore9294 Hey its been a while, Im glad you like your SewStrong too, I love mine as well, she is a work horse thats for sure. I know right I dont get why people flock to the singer, 4411 it doesnt even have walking foot capabilities, for that price you can get a vintage straight stitch singer that has more power, it could be for the multiple stitch designs I guess. Im glad I didnt pull the trigger on the singer 4411, when I was first looking to buy a heavy duty machine, Im so happy with my SewStrong, she has sewn so many products through out the years, just keep her well oiled, cleaned, and greased and she'll treat you right. A video would be nice, you dont have to show your face just the work, its also a great way to promote your products if you are making items for sell. I would be adding new videos soon to show my new items, here and my other channel @UrbanMountainPakks if you're interested, and if you havent done so yet please subscribe to both channels if you can. Thank you and Happy New Year to you too, my Friend. Stay safe out there.

      this was a second machine I had so I sold it, but I still have my original machine which is the one you see above, oil and grease it well, and it will last, I had mine for over 7 years working between 2-4 hours per day for 5 days a week, its a work horse, and once you add the sailrite power balance will it will sew even thicker material, Ive done up to 8 layers of cotton 12oz duck canvas with two layers of webbing and it sewed it just fine, now its not meant to sew that much all day long be she will do it.

    Hey Johnny, thank you so much for this video . I just got the Rex 607z . I'm doing the mods on it now. I put the monster wheel 2 on last night. No I would like to put the stitch length plate on . My question is , does the stitch plate adjuster give the spring action like on the sailrite machine. Or will in only allow you to set the stitch length. Thanks you.

    The Sewstrong is not the same as the Rex, it's similar but made by a different manufacturer.

    • @JohnnyUrbanWoodsmen
      @JohnnyUrbanWoodsmen  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      True, but in the end the rex 607, sew-strong, familysew, tuffsew, Barracuda, SewLine, Omega, and any other portable walking foots machines like mine in the video are clones of the Sailrite machines which is a rebranding of the Thomson portable walking foot machines that Sailrite bought the rights to, but all are different from the industrial Rex sewing machine, thats another beast on its own.

      Hi Johnny, in reality there are over 2500 manufacturers of industrial and semi-industrial sewing machines in China today. Picking out the manufacturers with quality control is the key to buying a good machine there as you can see with your purchase. China has come a long way in quality since 10 years or so ago. Enjoyed your Video keep up the good work. Tell everyone where we can purchase your products.

    • @JohnnyUrbanWoodsmen
      @JohnnyUrbanWoodsmen  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MackLife10 Your welcome. Ok Yeah that use to happen to me also, what I did was I lightened up on the presser foot and adjusted the binder attachment where the needle was about an 1/8" inch from the edge of the bias tape. Taking corners was hard at first but with lots of practice and scrap, I was able to sew on track 95% of the time depending on the radius of the turn.

    • @JohnnyUrbanWoodsmen

      @@MackLife10 In making turns in my opinion yes, if the presser foot is too tight then if pushes the bias tape away from the feet and off the track, thats been my experience.

    Do you know how to do a locking Stitch I didn't see you do any kind of locking Stitch or reversing back at the beginning or ending of any of your sewing so what's going to happen to your wonderfully strong bags the stitching on the bindings going to come undone because you don't do any locking Stitch I highly suggest that you do some research about reverse stitching for locking Stitch at the beginning in the ending of your selling so it doesn't come undone so you have a better product

      Johnny UrbanWoodsmen Johnny UrbanWoodsmen so I Just watched a video of a guy that made kind of like a power strip but instead of being able to plug in multiple plugs, it’s got 2 plug spot with a house like dining room light dimmer switch and wall plug lol. so the guy can slow the machine WAY down! All basic stuff that can be found at Home Depot. A power cord for appliances,wire nuts and tape,outdoor power box for 4 plugs(need room for plug and switch)plug, dimmer switch,and the face plate.
      cut 1foot off power cord for later between switch and plug socket . Run power cord in to box/dimmer,wire from dimmer to plug with that 1 foot wire, then close it up and now you have a variable speed sewing machine. Lol shoot you can even get a Bluetooth dimmer hahaha. i am Heading there in the morning to have it made and ready to go for when my Machine finally gets here... just thought I would share what I just learned...👍🏻
