I had the best iteration of this machine, the Sailrite Ultrafeed LSZ with the WorkerB motor and the Monster 2 Power Wheel…and although it could sew through anything I threw at it, at the end of the day, the LSZ still had many little inconveniences, which together added up to the machine not being optimal for me. I switched to a Juki TL-2010Q, in the same price range, and couldn’t be happier…It’s a much more refined machine, the Juki.

That isn't even a walking foot machine... completely different use cases. You should have bought a Juki 1521

      - Correct, the TL-2010Q is not a walking foot, which is why I went with the LSZ first. I required a machine to make bags, and although the 2010Q is marketed as a quilting machine, many bag makers use it with minor complaints. Unfortunately, I had three requirements in place at the time. The machine needed to be brand new, the budget was $1K, and the machine needed to be able to be stored on a shelf when not in use. This is how I arrived at these two machines, regardless of their “completely different use cases.” The last requirement was not negotiable, unfortunately. If I had the dedicated space available for a larger machine, I’d have gone with a Juki DNU-1541S.

Would you do a video where you explain the process of adding the spring on a drawing? In particular, if you could draw the part where the hole was drilled and size of drill bit. I am planning on buying a Rex. I’m interested in adding the spring once I buy my Rex. Also could you please show how you installed it on your table? I’m not mechanical but I could follow your instructions. Thank you for your video. Is fantastic!

If you take the handwheel off it will let you drill it in place from that end. A small magnet placed under where you’re drilling will keep things clean.

What’s the thickest it will sew. Can you sew 4 mm of leather?

Thanks for the video, I was thinking about doing the same I was wondering how to do the spring. I also want to upgrade to their monster wheel, and was looking at the sailrite biz-ee b motor upgrade or their servo motor upgrade. Please do more videos I'll be subscribed and waiting. Thanks!

Thanks for posting this. I have the 607z with the monster wheel and would like to do that spring thing on the original reverse lever. How much of the machine must be dissambled to get at the parts that need drilling?

Thank you. I have this same machine and have the tension on the lowest setting? The manual is very limited and only has pic for threading which is unclear?
