    • @JohnnyUrbanWoodsmen
      @JohnnyUrbanWoodsmen 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey Thanks for watching my video, I clean mine with 70% rubbing alcohol, then I put a thin layer of sewing machine oil, because its very thin, light and doesnt stink and I can lube the innards , but if you want something more food safe you can use mineral oil, and wipe it clean after use, but keep in mind that mineral oil will make the gun slick and slip out of your hand, so make sure to rub the gun until it doesnt feel slick. Hope this helps. P.S. only wipe down the pistol grip with the 70% alcohol, dont oil it.

      @@JohnnyUrbanWoodsmen Well, that's a little disappointing. I've always found the model 3 interesting, as it predates the SAA by a few years. I've own a few modern, and real Smith and Wesson pistols myself, so there may be a bit of personal bias as well. Do they have any dummy spent casings? Seems only appropriate that if specific dummy rounds exist, spent casings should also be available for possible film purposes. Because the replicas can't fit actual rounds, I assume they can't fit genuine spent casings either. Edit: is the cylinder movable with the hammer uncocked? I've seen some other videos on the Denix replicas that suggests so. The actual revolvers don't do that.

      @@WindowLickingDeer Denix do not sell spent casings, that I know of, but they do sell replica dummy bullets that look real; Yeah Id wish they would make most of their replicas shoot caps, I that that would be a great selling point, the only pre-1870 gun that shoots caps are the 1851, and 1860 colt navy and army, the derringer, the dragoon, and their 1825 Italian percussion cap pistols. Yeah the cylinder chambers are drilled smaller and the barrels are plugged so you wont be able to fire real live rounds, the cylinder on some denix models are a little loose, but you have to spin them by hand, and there is some resistance when the hammer is uncocked.

    What a beautiful piece. I was wondering if I need a license to buy one ;/. I'm currently 19 and abit of spaghetti western myself just can't help but want one for display.

    • @JohnnyUrbanWoodsmen
      @JohnnyUrbanWoodsmen 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Chuong, Thanks for watching my video, No you dont need a license because these are replicas and non firing, if you live in the US you'll be fine in most states, I live in NYC and I follow my state/local laws which allow any antique NON Firing, NON modern replica pre 1898, and I dont let children play with it, which I dont have any so im good there, now if you live in Europe or the UK or Australia then thats a different story, which you will have to check you local laws for ownership. But I bought this because I too am a spaghetti western fan and a Tombstone 1993 fan, I say you would not regret buying one.

      Sorry to hear that your machine is not working, these machines are pretty good once they are tuned, mine was working straight out of the box but some sorry to say are anchors and arent worth their weight in lead, these machines are made all over china by different companies, some are shipped in great working condition, by honest companies and others are shipped in poor condition by companies that just want to make a quick buck, unfortunately we will not know which we get until we buy it and use it. There is a facebook group about these machine and they are very helpful, its called "China leather shoe patcher" hope they may be able to help you. Good luck

    Can any regular ring caps be cut and used with these shells?

    • @JohnnyUrbanWoodsmen
      @JohnnyUrbanWoodsmen 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, Thank you for watching my video, yes you can yes any ring caps, I buy the 12 cap ring caps and cut them up trim away any plastic taps so it will be nice and smooth so they wont get in the cylinder, and for an extra loud bang, I buy paper caps and cut out the popper and place that inside the plastic cap for a double wammy. Hope this helps.

    • @JohnnyUrbanWoodsmen

      The grips are made of a faux ivory looking heavy duty plastic polymer, it pretty tough, i drop it once and it landed on the grips and it didnt break.

    Did this come with the orange tip? Ive noticed on older posts the guns do not have the tip but on Ebay, the western replicas being sold all have it.

    • @JohnnyUrbanWoodsmen
      @JohnnyUrbanWoodsmen 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, for my understanding, ebayer sellers add the orange tips so they can comply with ebay policy, because ebay doesnt understand replica gun laws and they bundle it all together with other toy gun laws, according to videos Ive watched the sellers remove the orange plugs before shipping, if you are buying from discount cutlery and any other US supplier of denix replicas then no they do not come with orange plugs (unless they changed policy) now if you buy a modern replica i.e. 1911 from certain states and certain dealers then they might come with plugs, now for my understanding for UK, Europe, and Australia they require a orange plug no matter on the model you buy. Hope this helps

      Oh man, that sucks. But what I did after the denix caps finished was I bought 8 round ring caps and cut them up and used those to replace the denix ones, also to make it even louder, what I do is buy the paper roll caps and cut the cap part out small enough to fit into the plastic cap and now you will double the sound and pop. Hope this helps

      @@JohnnyUrbanWoodsmen Do you have it? I really like these revolver replicas, especially these shiny ones are nice to look at. Colt Peacemaker really is a classic, definitely a great collectible. Another one from this brand I really like is a more modern gun the Colt Python .357 Magnum which is also a beauty. Had a shiny silver look and brown grips imitating wood. There was also a completely black one but I liked the silver one better.

    Is it possible to purchase this type of replica in Pennsylvania?? They won't let anyone buy a modern replica but I believe you can purchase a replica that was manufactured before 1898. Thanks

    • @JohnnyUrbanWoodsmen
      @JohnnyUrbanWoodsmen 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You should be able to, its a non-firing pre-1898 replica so in Pennsylvania if their laws are like NY's then yeah, but I would suggest to do a google search on owning a non modern firearm replica just to make sure.
