I just asked my daughter (HS middle blocker) if she has ever been taught this landing technique after a block with her and the hitter putting the inside foot slightly back as to avoid rolled ankles. I sometimes wonder how it feels to play on that composite floor. You have to be up to some level to get the opportunity. If anyone here experienced it, I'd like to know Since the players still use knee pads, it can't be pain-free when the knee(or the elbow, ribs and chin, whatever available) hit the floor.
On a composite floor you tend not to glide as much, so you will get something similar to rug burns. I always wear knee pad on at least one knee no matter the floor. It does feel easier on the joints and I feel I jump a little higher than on hardwood gyms. Btw I am in no way a great player.
Im two years late but you don’t slide as well on your knees and it’s pretty grippy, also sometimes the little squares move around a bit lol. It’s pretty fun
I like these floors just as much as I like hardwood, but there is an obvious difference. Diving is wayyyyy more fun on jigsaw floors, but it feels like jumping is easier on hardwood. I’m a middle blocker, so I don’t dive much, but most passers that I know don’t like these floors

Wish I had a setter like theirs to practice with, we have to meet the ball, not the ball meet us. Kinda bummer

one of my teammates slit her thigh open on a loose tile once
its not about skill level if you do club you visit more gyms and a lot of gyms have that floor. it still hurts to fall
