I grew up in Salisbury through the 50s & 60s. This brought back a lot of memories from my childhood. When they showed the clip of the coffeee being roasted I coud actually smell it, I used to love the smell coming from Stokes as I walked down the New Canal to catch the bus home.

This is brilliant. My first job was with Salisbury Journal as a typesetter. Just used out on the hot metal presses. This is such a fascinating insight. Seeing all those old shops and the bus station that's now being turned into housing. Lovely piece of history captured for future generations. Style and Gerrish is where Debenhams is now! Lovely steam trains and old busses. Oh the good old days

+Melissa Terry Yes, great to see it again isn't it. I was an apprentice comp at Tisbury Printing Works which I expect you remember was opposite the back entrance of the bus station. This is amazing
Grew up in Bemerton Heath in the 70's
Wonderful ! I wonder if that secondhand bookshop is still there?
Beeches bookshop? On the corner near the cathedral gate in the high street: No, the person that owned it retired, it's now an Italian restaurant
