    Know the area well. I had relatives in South Newton we often visited. I also had some in Salisbury turning off on the first left after Skew Bridge over the railway. My cousin drank in the Hallway House,we also went to Village Inn and the Working Men’s club by the roundabout. There used to be a National garage opposite the club. Haven’t been that way for a very long time,so many memories. Thanks for posting.

    What a beautiful video. I just got done reading Edward Ruthefurd's Sarum, so I needed to just get a visual of Salisbury. I visualized it correctly. I must have witnessed the town in various UK TV shows, as it looked familiar (beyond the cathedral. I knew what that looked like)

      It's akin to modern cities in California looking the same as well. HA. I guess there was a similar cookie cutter style of construction back then as there is now.

    My Grandparents used to live between Nether Wallop and Broughton on the A30 and we often used to drive through Salisbury to get to Coombe Bissett, where my Great Uncle lived. That was more than 60 years ago. Salisbury has grown a bit since then!

    Beautiful country. Thoroughly enjoyed my 9th month stay in 2000. Country and people are beautiful and welcoming. A must see if you get to the UK. Must stay at the Rose and Crown for authentic! Lots to see and do.

    Its not Salisbury Golf Course at approx 1:30, its a pitch and putt. The Salisbury And S Wilts Course is by the Racecourse.

    Hi from the sister city of Salisbury, NC, USA. Our cities seem to be quite similar! It’s so interesting to see what it’s like. Hope I can one day visit!

    I find myself pausing frequently to read the signs and get a closer look at the people and buildings. Much fun to see this kind of video Rich. Don't ever stop giving us the occasional driving vid! When did you shoot this Rich? Must have been during the summer, or is it still green this time of year in UK? - Wait - just saw ***** comment below. A few months back. OK

    These smaller towns/villages are so much better than the bigger cities, shows the real England. Shame most tourists don't venture further than London.

      Cairo M yea agree with you Cairo, I’m not a fan of London it’s far to busy. There are plenty of fantastic places to visit in the UK the only thing that lets us down is the weather! Lol mind you since Covid-19 arrived the weather has been great! Thanks for watching and commenting and I hope you and your family stay safe and well.. 👍🏻

    Ian Williams did my kitchen and bathroom. They're one of the main contractors for Salisbury City Council / Wiltshire Council, and do all the refurbs for Salisbury's council housing.

    I'm not sure how I got from Russian language lessons to your video of the route I drive every day to work but it was very interesting. I've always wondered what was up that little slip road, never realised it was a quarry.

    Esso and Shell gas! The trees the firs couple of minutes were so pixelated to be just blotches. I noticed a building early on that foolishly misspelled Tiles. They spelled it tyles! I had a good laugh! How much is gas there as I could not make it out? It is $2.54 a gallon here currently.

    • @Richcovephoto
      @Richcovephoto  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Danny Fyffe Yea they always look pixelated because of TH-cams compression as you know. I hope you are sat down when I tell you the price of Fuel in the UK... its around £1.30 a litre thats £5.80 a gallon which is $9.00 in your money!!! I live in rip of briton don't forget!!!!!!!!!

    • @SteveThorntonFungi
      @SteveThorntonFungi 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      The word on the sign is 'Tyres', that's the correct English spelling. To us the spelling 'tire' means to be weary or bored, 'tyre' is what you put on the wheel of your car.

    • @DannyFyffe
      @DannyFyffe 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Steve Thornton Oh, so another wrong word I see! ;-) We put tires on our wheels here. We get tired and must sleep and we tire of boredom! Splendid to speak proper American. ;-)

    • @SteveThorntonFungi
      @SteveThorntonFungi 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Danny Fyffe I can see from your videos that you drive your American tires to much more exciting places than my British tyres get to visit. I love a bit of time on the 4WD trails but my little car if for paved roads only :-(
