TROUT SMACKDOWN on Santiam River (Above Detroit Lake) | Unreal Bite | Lure Fishing | Oregon Fishing

Danny and Tony went on an early morning Trout fishing trip up the canyon on the North Santiam River above Detroit Lake in Oregon. The fishing was absolutely lights out! They caught on PowerBait, Salmon Eggs, and KastMaster lures. Come along and watch them slay fish after fish in one of their favorite honey holes.

Awesome stuff! I have fished the Upper Santiam for many years, but mostly way higher up the canyon. I am about 90% sure I know that spot but havent been there in like 8 years.

That's awesome! We haven't been up much further on the river. That was one of my goals for the next few summers is to make it all the way up the canyon and see what it has to offer.

I just fished detroit lake with no luck! Where is this it looks perfect, is it before you hit the detroit lake dam when coming east from salem? Love the videos.

This is after Detroit Lake! Yes, fishing has slowed quite a bit in the lake, particularly off the Dam.

Yeah, we battle with and debate that all the time. At the end of the day we decided that with stocked trout it's really not a big secret (we don't post exact location or name). We also feel like spots like these are ideal for kids who want to learn and get hooked on fishing. It would be totally different if it was some off-the-beaten-path Mountain honey hole or something. I feel like most people know these spots (based on the amount of campers and trash everywhere...smh) but that's just our opinion. 🤙
Just know that when it comes to Salmon and Steelhead and other future content we will be much more secretive of location and even background.
