Dungeness Crabbing Netarts Bay (at Night) from Shore with Castable Traps! I Oregon Coast Crabbing!
Welcome! My wife, cousin, and good friend took a quick overnight trip to Netarts Bay for a night crabbing session, followed by a session the next morning before heading home. We did very well, catching a mess of Dungeness Crab. What an amazing memory! We can't wait to do it again!
We crabbed from shore and used castable/throwable crab traps with chicken and shad as bait!

A relative visited from out of state and we got out on the ocean for some bottom fishing in Newport, Oregon. We ended up catching mostly Black Rockfish but also a Quillback Rockfish (that had to be released). It was a really fun time! 3:39 my camera did that a couple of times. A new sd card took care of the problem.
@@TheReefRobber We are certainly due for new SD cards, so we'll try that out. We tend to only have that problem when it's wet and cold.

@ too many birds poop make the dock very slippery. 😂 Did you use any attractant?
@@BanksyTube We used ProCure Crab and Shrimp Attractant oil on the chicken and the Shad was very pungent!

@@kalebwest2833 This was back a few weeks ago. We are not certain about the weather conditions or current state of crabbing on the Nehalem. When in doubt, try it out!

2 types. "Basune" and the other are some cheap ones from Bi- Mart.
I've lived here in Oregon my entire life of 44 years and a few of these spots are new to me like the "St. Louis Ponds" . Grew up a bunch in Sandy and Stayton. Did a lot of fishing when i was a kid on Detroit, and my grandfather helped logging off the canyon and building the dam when he was a kid so seeing that make your number 1 hit sweet note. nice video.

Fishing in that spot you need to cast over up stream of the big rock. Let it go under the rock. The fish school under their or in the dead space in front of that big rock . As kids I use to catch 50 or 60 fish in that area...

Hey bro , love the videos , I'm fairly new to fishing trout . If you dont mind me askig , what size hook or weight do you use here at st.louis ? What length of leader as well ? Appreciate any help ,and once again ,love the content , helps me out a ton .

Nice! Keeper's from a dock/pier. How much does it cost to have you're crab cooked@cleaned ?
@@crabber59 crab cooking is free if you rent a boat or pay to use their dock. Cleaning depends on how much time the staff have or how busy they are. If you request them to help you clean and they have time, they are usually happy to help. Weekdays it costs $18 for the first ring rental and then $13 for each additional. Weekends it goes up a little bit to $23, and $18. I'd highly recommend it. Good luck out there!
@@crabber59 I'd have to look back at this video but usually we'll do three rings on a weekend so we're looking at $59 total and there's no time constraint and then all our crab cooked and cleaned. We think it's a very fair deal.

@@jimdowney511 Never tried snares. That's next on our agenda. I just love the ease of traps and how cost effective they are ($15 per trap).
