@@BlessedPoker We use size 10-14 single hooks but you can totally try size 6-8 and be just fine. I would recommend possibly using a treble hook. Would be much friendlier for your boy too! Happy to answer any more specific questions for you. Just shoot us an email or message on Instagram.

Thanks for the info and sorry that it's turning into what it is. I've only fished it the last year but I did end up trying it a few weeks back and it was during the algae bloom so not many people were out. I definitely hear about how crowded it gets and $10 parking.

I'm not 100% confident but I'm very certain that you cannot keep native fish at this spot. It is tricky from a bridge but there is a spot you can walk down to the water, but that's a long way to keep a fish out of the water so it's best to try to lower it down in a net or bucket. I've usually seen people just toss them back but trying to either get the hook out without touching the fish or just cutting the line. There's no perfect solution really but typically at that spot I just keep what I catch unless it's native.

If you are going to use heavy pots and try to go off the very end of the pier you are going to want about 100 ft of rope to account for the strong current. You can get away with about 50 feet on most parts of the dock but the last section of the dock you pretty much need 75 or more IMO.

Can't wait for more trips like that coming up soon! 🦀

Haven't fished it much but I certainly enjoyed my time this trip and will be back.

Sure. Just a solid local lake list for people to be able to get on fish. I suppose most places are within an hour of Salem but there are some longer. Give us another few years of exploring and we'll have a whole different list.

@@bobhand6632 Sorry about that! When we catch decent sized fish we like to play them slow and easy, especially with our super light tackle. Sure, I could tighten up a bit 😂 but we tend to play it on the safe side.

8-12 feet but that's been a few weeks back. Early morning or late evening is best and maybe at this point the fish are starting to run a little deeper. And later July and August I switch up and fish deeper until I find willing fish

@@Burkholder1994 sounds about right as well! I'll usually catch anywhere from 20 to 60 ft later in summer. Sometimes I'll go super deep- over 100 and catch some as well. Good luck out there!
