Trout fishing with a bobber on a Dam (Detroit Dam and Lake, Oregon)

- A few buddies and I had a fun day fishing at Detroit Dam and Lake here in Oregon. We caught all of our fish using slip bobbers, Gulp Salmon Eggs, and Powerbait. This video is definitely a little shorter than usual. There is one thing that TH-cam has taught me, it is better to have too much video footage, than not enough!! Lesson learned!! :)

SALEM, Ore.-Anglers are having some success catching kokanee in Detroit Reservoir lately, thanks in part to the new bonus bag limit of 5 kokanee. But ODFW is also hearing from anglers that targeting kokanee is resulting in quite a few inadvertently hooked juvenile Chinook salmon too.
Now I'm glad I didn't catch one!
What app were you using to see how deep the water was?
I was using GPSNAUTICALCHARTS.com . I typically just google depth charts for reservoirs or lakes prior to heading out. I was using fishbrain at one point but the application was extremely buggy.

@@cavenmalear Yeah we fished farther down on the dam. We seemed to have good luck right next to the trash can using slip bobbers set at about ten feet and powerbait. I know all about getting skunked. We are out on the Columbia right now and haven't caught anything. Gotta put in the hours if you wanna catch fish!!
