    John you're such a normal dude. Its so funny watching you work. Mainly because I see myself working the same way. I seem to get in my own way when building because I move around the chassis and to other things too often. And totally agree with the 8 year old theory. My daughter will stand there long enough to touch everything on my desk and drop something on the floor. Then she's done.

    Two years but it was a plane out of foam. Did scale up a plan to 150% for way to big battery's. Was not willing to buy smaller ones 😂. It was not a complicated build but my dedication was complicated. Someday I finished it and it flew very good.

    Your old school that watch with the calculator & noted could be replaced with one phone. 😂 I completely understand though on the slow progress unfortunately life takes its toll on RC time. I can’t even stand it. I’m currently in the process of upgrading my Gen 8 V2. I’ve had the parts for months now. My build consists of a Pro Line Chevy body, Treal axles, Hobby wings Esc, Nitro Hobbies crawl master motor, & new bead locks. I’m sure I’m forgetting something. I’ve managed to get the rear axle in shorten the wheel base, install the motor & Esc & cut out my body. I just need the time to paint the body & don’t want to rush it with just a little time to do it. Mean time I’ve put the bumpers back on & the original body back on & taken it out to test & I’m impressed with it so far. Now I have a new TRX sport truck & got metal bead locks on it & adjusted the rear bumper but have a Hobby Wings Esc & one of your crawlmaster sport 550 8 turn motors on hand to install in it. I’m going to run it a bit stock but can’t wait to get the new stuff in it. I have the Marksmen & I’m impressed with the motor & Esc combo in it. Thanks for the great products & hope your feeling a little better everyday. Happy Holidays & Merry Christmas..

    Hi #John , i can't find info on: is it easier on integrated BEC to supply power at higher voltage? In my understanding, the smaller stepdown, the less heat. Am i right and is there anything else You could add?

    • @HolmesHobbies
      @HolmesHobbies  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The smaller the step-down, the less heat. The circuits can be designed specifically for high step down/ low duty/ low amp/ variable switching rates but it normally makes a compromise on higher load performance or efficiency.

    • @polishguywithhardtospellna8227
      @polishguywithhardtospellna8227 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HolmesHobbies Thanks very much for reply John. I have managed to find...the power issue. More voltage=more servo power=more Watts draw from BEC=more heat.
      So less heat=more heat=it's very tricky, no answear without testing, not knowing before purchase :-)
      I guess that's why, there is no video about it, no point ;-p
      I think i might stick to standard voltage servo?

      any 540 can brushless would work, but you'll also need a Mamba X or like esc, by the time you do that you'll have 3 x in the motor & esc then what the wltoy cost. your looking $250-$350 for a decent brushless combo. I'd invest in a Hobby Grade Crawler first.... 👍🏼

    • @HolmesHobbies
      @HolmesHobbies  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The new 10 pole inrunner motors have the same rotor diameter as the Puller. More poles do not equal more torque unless designed a certain way, which will also cause a reduction in power density and increase to no load losses. It's always a trade off.
