This is a master class in furniture repair. This is a master class in professionalism. This is a master class in caring. Remarkable. Privileged to see it all happen.
What a beauty! It's hard to believe the "after" came from that "before". I love watching you and Thomas Johnson. The patience, concentration, hours, taking pride in what you do is amazing....
Trena, at this point, I'm convinced that you could be given a bag of broken pieces and a couple pictures of the original, and you'd have no problem putting it all back together as good as new, if not better. Such an amazing talent. Each video is a learning lesson. Thank you for the video.
Has anyone ever told you that you are a freaking genius?? Because you are! I learn so much from watching you. And you are so calm when you are working. I am in awe.
Wow, would you look at that… absolutely so well done Trena. What else can I say.the owner should be absolutely so pleased with your skilled work well done😊🎉
Such a beautiful thing seeing someone take so much pride and joy in their work. So relaxing watching an artist bring a beautiful piece back to life. What a wonderful thing seeing someone carry on their father's work. Doesn't happen often nowadays.
The worse the piece is to start, the greater the beauty of your transformation at the end. Absolutely superb work here as usual and a real joy to watch you transform the piece. Very interesting to note in the comments that others refer to two of my other favourite restoration channels - Thomas Johnson and Baumgartner. Thank you for the extra long video.
I really like your new intro! As to the little desk, Wow, just Wow. It is absolutely wonderful. You have magic in your fingers. Thank you for sharing this with us.
These hard projects are what keeps us interested and on our toes. Sometimes no matter how frustrating they are they are needed to remind us how talented we are.
I stumbled upon your channel by accident and I have to say how lucky for me. I have done minor wood work and refinishing over the years and loved it. My female friends think I’m crazy but it’s their loss for not understanding the pleasure of restoring a piece of furniture to it’s former glory. I have to also say what a delight it is to see a woman working in this field. Your Dad did a great job teaching you because your workmanship is amazing! I’ll be watching for more and looking at your past videos.
Wow! You are a true artist! I cannot believe you were blessed to bring this back from the firewood heap! I’d love to see the owners reactions to your repairs!
Really great job, Trena. Thank you for saying that proper restoration takes time, patience, skill and attention to detail. Lots of people don't understand this, and I often have to explain. You put it very well.
Such talent, skill, artistry, knowledge, determination and class, you have it all and beautiful shop dog, I'd never get anything done with such an adorable distraction. As always a magnificent restoration, thank you Trena xx
Thanks for giving me the courage to repair my wife's 1800's rocking chair, which, by the way, came out very good. Well enough to have her brag about my work every time her friends and guests comment on it. Now, with this new challenge, I'm going to handle the task of rebuilding and restoring the secretary she just bought at yet another estate sale, and yes it's also an 1800's piece! Oh well, I'm retired and it keeps me busy! :) Great video, I like the way you take the time to show us and explain your processes. Makes my life much easier!
I can’t add anything to these comments because you are a furniture wizard! Your opening intro says you put your heart ❤ and soul 😊 into each piece you restore and this is living proof!
This was quite entertaining and turned out beautifully. You are amazing! I wish I could find doctors who cared as much about healing and renewing as you clearly do about furniture. Your command of so many skills is wonderful, eclipsed only by your judicious creativity. 👍🏼😊🌻
Herman and Lily Munster would be ecstatic about having this piece back in their home. From scary to beautiful. Restored by a meticulous individual who loves her work and always gives her absolute best. Thank you for sharing your talents with us. Wonderful video. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Well done on this piece, I think I might have got a box of matches out with the amount of work needed for this one, such a good job you have the patience of a saint, very well done love it. Love your shop dog, I lost mine this week😭🇬🇧. P.S. I use your blog to prove to my wife I need more clamps.😄😄🇬🇧
Sorry for the loss of your fur baby. I lost mine just before Covid and 6 months of shutdown. I miss her so much. She was with me for nearly 17 years. 🐶😥🇦🇺
trena wonder woman "CANT TOUCH THIS" lolol and super man would be SERIOUSLY STRUGGLING you are above any super hero in restorations!!!!! this was a "miracle wonder" and a close to trash to treasure in anyones book ;];];] OUTSTANDING JOB GIRL!!!!!!!
💕 I love your attention to detail and meticulous work. You sure made a ton of difference in this piece. Marvelous! And thank you for mentioning the queen may she rest in peace
Awesome restoration. A lot of thought, planning and experience went into this project. Ended up being one beautiful museum quality showpiece to enjoy for a many year to come. A great investment for the owner.
Gorgeous repair. I'm not sure who's burn pile you captured this piece away from, but I know the princess that sits at this desk will adore it for a lifetime. This one truly was a labor of love. Hopefully, one day you will be able to photograph the "after" photos when it is showcased in its new home.
You are so funny!!! Loved your episode opener!!! 🤣 Great timing as we’re all starting to anticipate Halloween!! 👻 It’s great seeing you happy and having moved beyond that day when everything went wrong. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with all of us. I’m gaining courage to try and repair and refinish my grandmother’s buffet and table!
What an amazing transformation! I really didn't imagine you could restore this piece to anything like the standard you achieved. Nice to see that ShopDog doesn't get neglected 🙂

You have a heart for repairing and bringing back to life furniture pieces like no other. I admire your dedication and commitment to restoring beautiful furniture. I also have always admired Queen Elizabeth, even though I am an American. I wish we had such dedicated presidents.
The improvement is this piece has to be seen to be believed. This piece really did look to be past praying for but you brought it back. I do love white oak.
I would not have thought that steam would release old dried glue! Good to know. And I would try a long cake frosting spatula for poking around under the veneer :)
Hey Trena, loving your channel. Your skill and passion is inspiring. I do wonder the many hours that you need to spend to bring a piece back to life must sometimes make the job very expensive to the owner of it compared to it's value. I guess you must have a discussion prior to decide if the cost is worth it.
Stunning piece, amazing restoration workmanship, WOW. “Learning EVERYTHING he knows” (@ 5:20) not many kids can say that. Maybe you can explain your drill choices, you use a spade for the dowels where I would expect you to use a brad-point. What are those culls you use that wrap around the curved corners? You should open your shop for private teaching of the skills you have! Although I’m no longer able to do heavy furniture work, I certainly admire the incredible skill and artistic talent you have. Your dad, I’m sure, is very proud of you. You respect the pieces and the artist who came before you.
Hard to believe it is the same piece! Beautiful. Queen Elizabeth came to the throne the year I was born. I always admired her tremendously, even naming a daughter after her. I will miss her, too. 💔🇬🇧❤️🇺🇸❤️
Thank you for dedicating this quite magnificent transformation to our dearly beloved, and sadly missed Queen. Thank you too for helping me through a very difficult afternoon, missing my dear husband who died just over a year ago. I think all your work is superb. (from the uk)
Hello Trena , Just watched your latest repair video ... We have watched them all. Amazing restoration work , as always , you are so gifted . Thank you also for dedicating this to HRH Queen Elizabeth II , who gave 70 years of true dedication to our country, she would have appreciated your hard work I'm sure. She will be missed x
The way you restore these old pieces - I'm sure - will make them last unblemished a hundred years of constant use. It is immensely satisfying to see not only their beauty restored, but their solidity too. Amazing knowledge and skill 👋👋👋!!!
Beautiful, Trena. 😍 A lovely and delicate piece returned to glory. You're amazing. 👍 I'm with you in regard to Elizabeth II. A woman worthy of emulation in every way. I'll miss her so much. I was 8 when she had her coronation in 1953. God bless her and may she rest in well deserved peace after a lifetime of devotion and service to her country. 💖
i couldnt get any work done with that BEAUTIFUL doggie there.. i would be hugging her ALL DAY LONG .. i love her curly tail ..you are soo professional Trena.... i think im a bit in LOVE with you too .. such a feminine lady.. i feel that is why your work is such a success xx
Wow! What an amazing transformation! To look at this piece before, one would have thought there was no way it could be saved, but by golly, you did it and fantastically, I might add!
You are a very talented patient young lady in possession of great skill and forethought. I have really enjoyed your work on this impossible piece. Great job Trena!
wow what a transformation. one thing i found really interesting was the way the joint was made for the front legs. i have to admit in all my years i have never seen this method before.
Just fascinating that items like this can be restored. So many of us just look at those repairs and wouldn’t even attempt it, but your talent and confidence is so impressive!
This one video has covered many different aspects of renovation , the finish as always is wonderful , i only did basic woodwork when at school but my teacher was very good and very demanding about doing as he said , that started my love of woodwork , Trena you have carried this love forward if not as much the actual physical part as i am now 70 but watching your videos brings much enjoyment, Well done with another miracle !
What a great video. Watching you restore such a piece having so much damage I just didn’t know what to expect. The finished piece was absolutely wonderful. Your skills with such a dilapidated piece and bringing it back to a wonderful finish. Congratulations you deserve a pat on the back.
While repairing the drawer you start to talk about “proper repairs” and the extra cost involved vs. a DIY job. That’s exactly one of the reasons why I started my own channel too. It seems like a huge chunk of my job is explaining to people why it costs more than a few hundred dollars to do a full restoration of their 12 piece antique dining set. But…thats ok, its just part of the gig I guess. I actually mentioned your channel in a video is just filmed. When I get it posted, I’ll tag your channel in the description 👍 You do great work, Trena.
Thankyou so much! I really appreciate the shout out. I just checked out your channel and subscribed. Love your work! I will return the shout out in a future video. Thanks again.
You do the impossible with wood and make it look easy. What looks to be impossible is easily accomplished with your creativity and artistry. It is not only the aesthetics but understanding the structure of the piece. Love watching you.
What a thing of beauty. All the hard work you put in this poor damaged furniture. Love your work. Learning a lot from you. I hope you took molds of the hardware for future projects.
The scary music in the beginning was great! I can't believe everything you had to do to fix this piece up. It came out looking brand new. I have a 100+ year old 'secretary' piece and a back foot fell off. This video gave me a very good lesson on how to fix it. Luckily, my family has taken very good care of our very old furniture as it's been passed down through the generations and I wouldn't want to take a chance on a stranger doing something terrible or taking a short cut. Almost everything I have is 100+ and it's so important to me to keep them looking good. I look at them and wonder what stories they could tell me! I know many of them, but still I'm sure there are alot more that I don't! I really admire the care and respect you show to each piece you work on. Thanks so much for sharing with us.
I would have loved to have known your dad Trena. He taught you well but he had a talented student. Your work is beyond talent.. Love this channel and so happy you came online.
This is a master class in furniture repair. This is a master class in professionalism. This is a master class in caring. Remarkable. Privileged to see it all happen.
Thanks Norm!
Amen to all of this!!!
Whoa! A very scary undertaking! I will bet any money that you will get the job done!💪💪💪
What a beauty! It's hard to believe the "after" came from that "before". I love watching you and Thomas Johnson. The patience, concentration, hours, taking pride in what you do is amazing....
Absolutely. Your Scottish clock restoration is another favorite. Thanks.

What a awesome reality show that would make. Take a pile of pieces and put them back together. Any volunteers?😂
Has anyone ever told you that you are a freaking genius?? Because you are! I learn so much from watching you. And you are so calm when you are working. I am in awe.
Lol. Thanks Teresa
You did a phenominal job repairing and restoring this secretary desk! The owner will be amazed at its appearance now! Thanks!❤
Trenna, you’re absolutely the best furniture restorer on TH-cam, you should have a million subs but only if it doesn’t change you.
I hope one day
Wow, would you look at that… absolutely so well done Trena. What else can I say.the owner should be absolutely so pleased with your skilled work well done😊🎉
I just adore how you fix vintage furniture. You are a history saver.
Thank you! 😊
My first impression? Trena, you're nuts!!!! 🤣 Now I've GOT to watch this to see what magic you can conjure up to fix this!
Enjoy lol

I really like your new intro! As to the little desk, Wow, just Wow. It is absolutely wonderful. You have magic in your fingers. Thank you for sharing this with us.
Me too. Awesome new intro.
This is what TH-cam is about, no nonsense or drama just great content.
These hard projects are what keeps us interested and on our toes. Sometimes no matter how frustrating they are they are needed to remind us how talented we are.
The after shots are unbelievable. What you had to work with was a shabby mess. Now it is a new desk. Thank you very much.
I'm convinced you're a wizard with great magical powers. I don't know how it's possible to perform some of the furniture saves you do. You amaze me.

Thank you for your lovely tribute to our Beloved Queen at this sad time.
Your father taught you very well. This piece has another 100 years of use.
Congratulations!!
My dear Tena, Whatever you charge for your artistry, it's likely not enough! I, for one, truly appreciate, vicariously, your expertise.... Cheers
Holy smokes, lady! What a save!! Also, I was totally giggling at the opening “scene”, haha. Love it.
Thanks fellow furniture genius! 🥰

Congrats on a well finished project. I am sure the owners did not expect that transformation! Bravo Trena!
This is one of the best furniture restorations I've seen. The respect for the piece, and her knowledge base is what makes her work so awesome.
Thankyou
Outstanding. You did a miracle for that beautiful piece. Hard to believe same thing❤❤❤

I love your masterful work but really adore your heart. Queen Elizabeth’s passing has saddened me too. A dynamic woman of grace. You are awesome.
Thankyou
Only a loving person could turn that piece into a thing of beauty as you did, Trena. You are a gem. Warm hugs from New Mexico.

Your customers are so lucky to have you. Your skills are amazing. At first I wasn’t sure this desk could be saved but you did it.

I can’t believe you were able to bring that piece of furniture back from the dead, you are a amazing craftswoman! You keep surprising me, thanks!
Tha kyou
You never disappoint...yet another beautifully stunning restoration.
I have loved the Queen as long as I can remember. She ascended the throne the year I was born!
First, beautiful work, as always. From the title, I thought it might be time to pull the covers over my head again.
Second, I love how you talked at the beginning about how much damage you can do with a Dremel if you use it for the wrong things and then used one to polish the brass. In the hands of a magician like you, each tool plays its part.
yes, they can be helpful but are dangerous if used for the wrong thing. cheers
Totally agree with "Norm Weiner". Trena is a Magician when it comes giving life back to history.
Loving the new intro. Nice project Trena. 😊💔🇬🇧nice nod to EllR, I cried for a few days on and off, been on TV loads, going to take some getting used to. She only swore in our new prime minister on Tuesday, not sunk in yet!

Patience, toil, masterwork. A really worthy tribute to Her Majesty. Thanks, Trena!

I guess you must have a discussion prior to decide if the cost is worth it.
yes, these jobs are very expensive and its only the love and the sentiment that my lovely customers have for these pieces that can bring the back
Good to see the smile and humor back. You really had your hands full with this restoration. Great job.
Yes. Thankyou
Any thoughts on those vacuum bag veneer clamps? Do you feel they are more or less overkill for the type of work you do? In my opinion the leg attachments are a poor design. Despite your insightful repairs the legs still don’t stand a chance if someone drags the piece over the carpet. They do look elegant. Says a lot about your skill that you have clients that willing give you such challenging work. Seems to me you spend as much time hiding your work as you do doing the work. Thanks for the video, fascinating.
thanks, the spade bit was sharper than my brad point bit at the time, lol that was the only reason. i didnt want a wandering hole. i used bendy ply for curved veneer repairs. veneer bags can be useful, but i think they overcomplicate the process when a good hammered job with hide glue is more than sufficient with way less mess and setup. cheers!
Dragging furniture with long legs over carpet is abuse. Do it at your own risk.
One of the things that could get me shouted at as a kid, dragging furniture around !
Miraculous. That's all I can say. Thank you for the tribute to The Queen.

Thank you so much!
