- No Man's Sky is an awesome new game for explorers. I LOVE space and of course I had to play No Man's Sky. It is a science fiction game, but it's fun to notice some things that the developers changed compared to the real world to make the game more enjoyable and look awesome!

I think you should really watch ShoddyCast's video on this. He touches on how old the No Man's Sky universe is significantly older than ours which could explain how there are 3 sentient life forms and quintillions of animals spanning the universe.
Of course there are more changes to the game. What have you noticed?

Well ı only watched the game and not played it , but I think the atmosphere isnt thicker the farther you're away, you're just traveling at a higher velocity while leaving and entering the atmosphere so you get more heat effects.
Thanks for the video. I was looking for something about the things we can learn from the game, like the periodic table and get an idea of which elements are found where. If anyone else could point me towards one of those, I'd love to know I'm learning as I play.

I feel like the "every planet has only one biome" and "every planet has survivable gravity" to be a big problem with a lot of science fiction works.
Oh, and don't even get me started on "every planet has earth-like life"

Actually NO there are Alien Microbes- The International Space Station had picked up a type of PLANKTON on the windows.
I found it a HUGE dissapointment that the animals and plants do not look like they evoled with the planet. It would be so much cooler when there was some kind of link between how the planet looks like and the plants/animals that populate the planet.
For example: why would you have giant animals when there is only grass?

Micro organisms been found on mars due to micro organisms thriving in volcanoes have they not? I could be mistaken but I thought that was the case
They have not found any.......yet ;)
It is theorized that microbes exist in the polar caps on mars but NASA and others will not send a rover or a probe to explore them. (we don't want to contaminate any samples or kill off any potential life)

The planets altho big are nowhere near earth sized. Earth is reaaaaally big.
Planets don't orbit the star
Planets rotate very slowly but the rotation is not what is causing the day and night cycle.
Mountains are at most 200-300 meters tall.
Oceans are the size of small lakes and tops 200 meters deep.
Spaceships (freighters) don't move while trusters seem to be on.
Traveling at lightspeed doesn't look like that.
The way black holes work.
Floating islands.
Distance of individual planets.

Ofcourse this is nitpicking cuz it's a sci-fi game and not a science accurate game. But these are just 10 more facts.
100% scientifically accurate would be pretty dull tho. Imagine trying to find the next planet in the sky (being dimmer then most stars) and then flying for hours to get there.
Though we are saying the game sucks, because it does.
